GEORGIA GWINN The Future of

EDUCATION

All classes at Georgia Gwinnett are taught by high-quality faculty who are here only because they love to teach. Since our classes are small, they give personal attention that other institutions can’t deliver. If you need help with an assignment or a course, they spend extra time with you, perhaps even over lunch. Our professors don’t have office hours. They are available to you in person or by e-mail, phone, and text for questions. And they don’t just teach, they mentor. You will be assigned a specific faculty mentor, but all faculty fill this role. Whether you need advice about life, careers, internships, or competing for a special academic program, they are there to inspire and encourage you. They’ll even recommend you for conferences, research projects and other activities that will help prepare you for your future. They will welcome you into the college community during your “March Through the Arch” ceremony, and they will personally congratulate you when you graduate. Think of them as your own personal coaching staff.

EXCELLENCE

14

Georgia Gwinnett College founded the Office of Athletics with the hiring of Director of Athletics Dr. Darin S. Wilson on July 28, 2011, and over that time, the Grizzlies have become a truly dominant force within the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The first athletic events took place on August 25, 2012, with a soccer doubleheader against Tennessee Temple, which saw the men and women combine to beat the Crusaders 21-1. The impressive athletic achievements have continued ever since, highlighted by five consecutive NAIA national championships by the men’s tennis team. The women’s tennis team has also collected four national championships in five seasons of post-season eligibility, while women’s soccer, men’s soccer, baseball, and softball have each taken home A.I.I. titles over the past five seasons. All six Grizzly programs have competed in national championship play.
