One of the best-loved summer festivals is back for a brand new edition. Unmissable performances include Florence + The Machine (22 June), Paolo Nutini (24 June), Travis Scott (30 June), The Black Keys, Liam Gallagher and Nothing But Thieves (1 July), Red Hot Chili Peppers (2 July) and Arctic Monkeys (15 July). 3
Giuseppe Verdi’s 10th opera, with a libretto based on the original by William Shakespeare, has enchanted audiences for many years, and now returns to Milan, directed by Davide Livermore and choreographed by Daniel Ezralow. The cast includes two alternating Macbeths, Luca Salsi and Amartuvshin Enkhbat, and the same arrangement for Lady Macbeth, played by Ekaterina Semenchuk on the first two dates in June, and Anna Netrebko thereafter.

A story of everlasting love, a classic of choreography to the immortal music of Prokofiev, packed with emotion, deeply theatrical and moving. Kenneth MacMillan’s is one of the most thrilling and beautiful versions of Romeo and Juliet, and has been on the Scala repertoire for many years. It returns seven years after the last performance, in a staging designed for the theatre in 2010 by Mauro Carosi and Odette Nicoletti.
