Use your Passport to Girl Scouts for more fun ideas to help kickstart your first year in the amazing world of Girl Scouts. Check out these activities on page 16.

This is a self-paced activity where you can use the passport as a guide through your first Girl Scout year. Earn points by completing the items in your passport and earn a free fun patch!

Who are Girl Scouts?

Girl Scouts create the world they want to live in and strive to make it better every single day. They explore their strengths, take on new challenges, and can always be themselves, regardless of background or ability.

Are You Up to the Challenge?

Dive into the world of Girl Scouting with this Girl Scout Passport! Learn all there is to know about being a part of the world’s largest girl-led organization.

Week 1:

• Scan the QR code below or visit gs-strong.org/jglactiongame to download instructions for the Juliette Gordon Low action game. Play the game with Girl Scouts from your troop or with your family.

• Girl Scouts in grades 6-12: Write a paragraph on the next page about what you want to get out of your Girl Scout experience.

• Girl Scouts in grades K-5: Write down 3 things on the next page that you want to learn or do in Girl Scouting.

• Learn about Savannah, Georgia and why it is called “the birthplace of Girl Scouting.” Ask a grown up to help you investigate.

• Take the quiz on page 4 to see how well you know Juliette Gordon Low.

Week 2: Girl Scout Gear About SWAPS

• Let’s take a shopping trip! (In person or virtually)

• Visit your local Girl Scout Shop. What was the most interesting thing you saw at your Girl Scout Shop? Write it down or draw it in the space provided on the next page.

• Find and purchase the Girl Scout Way Badge requirement set for your level.

• Participate in the scavenger hunt while you shop! (In person only).

SWAPS stands for: Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere They are small tokens of friendship that Girl Scouts exchange with one another, and each SWAP uniquely reflects a fellow Girl Scout, their troop, or a memory of a special event.

SWAPS Tips:

• Think about the kind of SWAPS they would like to receive from someone else.

• Try not to spend a lot of money. Consider making something from donated or recycled material.

• Be creative and take time to make handcrafted SWAPS.

• Plan ahead so there’s time to make them.

• Make SWAPS that can be worn, used, or displayed.

• Make them small and portable.

Week 6: Time to Celebrate!

• Take a picture with your new Girl Scout Friends.

• Send a thank you note to your troop leader.

• Participate in a STEM program with your Girl Scout friends.

• Make a “SWAP” for your troop friends.

Week 5: Let’s Talk Entrepreneurship

• Get information from your troop leader or on the GSTOP website on how you can participate in the Fall Product Program.

• Set your goal and begin writing down names of friends and family you can ask to support you in your effort to reach your goal.

• Participate in your area Finance your Superpower program and help Penny learn more about entrepreneurship.
