FIVE OUTCOMES

When girls come to summer camp, they do more than just have fun! Our camp programming is designed to help girls grow and benefit through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Strong Sense of Self

At camp, girls are encouraged to try new activities and practice their skills. Girls have the freedom to choose extra activity rotations to add to their daily schedule.

Healthy Relationships

In a group living setting like camp, conflict can happen. When it does, our trained counselors discuss any disagreements with girls and help them solve their conflict constructively.

Challenge Seeking

At camp, our staff instructors are trained to supervise their specialty area and engage girls in healthy risk taking. Girls can try “challenge by choice” in an encouraging, uplifting environment.

Positive Values

At camp, we recite the Girl Scout Promise and Law each morning at a flag ceremony and ask girls to consider the Law during conflicts. Girls learn to share responsibility in keeping their living area clean and assisting in cleaning areas shared by all campers during daily “kapers.”

Community Problem Solving

As part of our group living environment at camp, girls create their own rules for their groups with the guidance of our counselors.

GETTING ALL GIRLS OUTSIDE

Camp is for all girls, and we have programming for every age level. If you are not a current Girl Scout member, you can still attend camp! Enjoy an adventure-filled summer and gain an annual Girl Scout membership for only $25, which will give you access to local opportunities, council programs and more Girl Scout fun!

Anna

“Sunny”

Reese

My name is Anna “Sunny” Reese, and I am the Camp Director at Keyauwee Program Center and Summer Camp Director at Camp Ginger Cascades. I fell in love with all things outdoors and camping at a young age, attending overnight camp in New Jersey every summer as kid. From there, I became summer staff and was on the year-round leadership team for six years. I spent two years in Washington completing a Youth Programming Outdoor Experience Internship before coming to P2P. I love creating spaces for campers to feel welcome and authentic while experiencing exciting outdoor programs!

Cassidy “Dover” McCollum

My name is Cassidy “Dover” McCollum, and I am the Equine Experience Specialist at Circle C Equestrian Center. My long history with Circle C goes all the way back to being a camper myself. I took a hiatus from camp to work as a technician in the veterinary industry for the last four years, but I found my way back - being camp sick is no joke! I am CHA certified and enjoy helping riders of all levels develop their skills.

Cathy “Barrow” Thacker

My name is Cathy “Barrow” Thacker, and I am the Equine Experience Manager at Circle C Equestrian Center. I have been teaching riders of all ages, abilities and ambitions horseback riding for over 25 years. One of my favorite things is helping riders learn and appreciate the life lessons horses have to offer. I am a CHA certified Riding Instructor and a graduate of Averett University’s Equestrian Studies program. 2023 will be my 10th summer at Keyauwee Program Center and Circle C.

Kaydee “Sigma” Tiemann

My name is Kaydee “Sigma” Tiemann, and I am the Outdoor Experience Manager at Keyauwee Program Center. I have spent the last 20 plus summers working at camps across the country and am originally from Dallas, Texas. When at camp, my favorite activity is tie dye.

THISTLE

Sawyer “Thistle” Thomas

My name is Sawyer “Thistle” Thomas, and I am the Outdoor Experience Manager at Camp Ginger Cascades. I’ve always loved camping and the outdoors and, luckily for me, I’ve been able to make a career out of giving kids these same experiences! My favorite activity at camp is the climbing wall - it is so rewarding to see campers step outside of their comfort zones and accomplish their goals, even if they seemed difficult at first. My other favorite activity is cascading because who doesn’t want to go sliding down a magical waterfall?
