Council Shops Council shops are located at our service centers in Asheville, Gastonia and Hickory. The mobile pop up shop will be available throughout the Triad and details will be listed on our calendar. If you would like a mobile shop at your service unit meeting or event, contact info@girlscoutsp2p.org or 800-672-2148. Summer Shop Hours: Asheville: Monday - Thursday, Noon - 5 p.m. Hickory & Gastonia: Monday - Thursday, Noon - 5 p.m. and every 2nd Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Triad: Closed in July. Our council calendar will have information on the mobile shops available in August and September.

JUNE VIRTUAL: Ready, Set, Take Action - Bronze Thursday, June 2 6:30 - 8 p.m. JV Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where you will discover what is necessary to create an amazing Girl Scout Bronze Award Take Action project. Learn how to identify a community need and how to address that need by sharing your skills and passions to help make the world a better place! This workshop is not required to achieve your Girl Scout Bronze Award. However, it is very useful as it covers important topics like the steps to earn the award and submitting your final report. The workshop is also an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the Girl Scout Bronze Award. This workshop is for Girl Scout Juniors, their parents and their leaders and is only for Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont members.

VIRTUAL: Summer Start-Up Troop for New Girls Monday, June 13 6:30 - 7 p.m. DBJ We are excited to offer the opportunity for your girl to start her Girl Scout journey with a 6-week summer virtual troop! This troop is open to all new girls in rising Kindergarten to grade 5 that purchase a Girl Scout membership of $35 (valid until September 30, 2023).

VIRTUAL: Ready, Set, Take Action - Gold Wednesday, June 15 6 - 8 p.m. SAV Get ready to go for the Gold! During this training, you will learn about the requirements, approval process and helpful tips for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. Girls will also have the opportunity to brainstorm and receive feedback on their project ideas. This workshop is only for Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont members.

Volunteer Opportunity There are still openings to help with our upcoming Camp Thanks-A-Lot events at one of our three camp properties. Volunteers can sign up for a variety of responsibilities- from being a lunch helper to craft volunteer to even helping at the archery field. All volunteer opportunities can be found on the interest form. Events will run from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., but volunteers will get breaks throughout the day, including time for lunch. Fall Product Program The Fall Product Program is a council-sponsored program that combines educational activities with money-earning activities for troops. The program is directed toward friends and family of Girl Scouts and enables troops to earn start-up funds for the year by selling magazines, as well as candy and nuts. The program is conducted both face-to-face and via the Internet using a secure online program.

Travel Destinations are the ultimate adventure for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors! Travel with Girl Scouts from all over the country during the summer. Domestic and international programs for 2022 and 2023 are still accepting applications. Want to travel with your troop? Getaways are short travel programs designed specifically for Girl Scout troops with rising 7th graders and older. AUGUST VIRTUAL: Juliette Networking Session - Computer Science Badges Monday, August 1 7 - 8 p.m. DBJCSAVF Connect with other girls in our council and talk about STEM badges and journeys that help build valuable technology skills while exploring scientific topics like gaming and social media. Through STEM, girls are able to solve problems as they use methods from fields like computer science, engineering and cybersecurity. We will discuss an overview of the computer science badges and resources available to help you complete them.

They’ll take part in an egg drop competition, create spaghetti towers, make their own ice cream, explode a watermelon and more! Get science-y, get messy and get inventive! Camp License Course Saturday, August 6 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Camp Ginger Cascades (Lenoir) V To enjoy a back-to-nature camping experience, complete with tent pitching, fires and outdoor cooking and/or to camp out in your backyard or at a non-council site, you will need to complete the Camp License. The Camp License consists of three pieces: Overnight License, Cook Out License and Tenting (approximately three hours). This course is valuable for volunteers who work with troops and want to help them build independence by learning many useful outdoor skills. It covers tarps, tents, and knots. The license is valid for five years.

Calling all Girl Scout Cadettes! Life is all about twists and turns, surprises and challenges and highs and lows! Join us for a day tackling the aMaze Journey and learn all about how to tackle all life throws at you. We will spend time learning how to navigate challenges with friendships, skills for standing up for what you believe in, building confidence and how to find peace within yourself. Girls will complete all Journey requirements during this session, excluding the Take Action project.
VIRTUAL: Juliette Networking Session Fall Product Training Monday, August 29 7 - 8 p.m. DBJCSAVF Connect with other girls in our council and talk about how the Fall Product Program provides an excellent opportunity to learn about goal setting, sales, marketing and budgeting. It’s also a great way to earn income to support Girl Scout activities. Join us to complete your Juliette Fall Product training.
Rumor has it that there has been some foul play on the planet Mars! After a secret mission went awry, an astronaut has gone missing. The final transmission was concerning and we were hired to investigate. Can you help solve the mystery and find a way home?
VIRTUAL: Ready, Set, Take Action - Silver Wednesday, August 31 6 - 7:30 p.m. CV Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where you will discover what is necessary to create an amazing Girl Scout Silver Award Take Action project. Learn how to identify a community need and how to address that need by sharing your skills and passions to help make the world a better place! This workshop is not required to achieve your Girl Scout Silver Award. However, it is very useful as it covers important topics like the steps to earn the award and submitting your final report. The workshop is also an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the Girl Scout Silver Award. This workshop is for Girl Scouts Cadettes, their parents and their leaders and is only for Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont members.
