A message from our Chief Executive Welcome to the 2013 Summer Camp Season! The Council staff has been working diligently to get ready for this summer! There are some exciting changes that we want to share with you. At Camp Kittamaqund, we have rebuilt our lodge that was struck by lightning, serviced our platform tents, and repaired our pool. At Pamunkey Ridge, we have insulated several cabins, repaired fences, and resurfaced our pool! Please consider joining us for Camp Service Day on March 16 at Camp Kitty and March 17 at Pamunkey Ridge. Another exciting development is the ability to register for camp online! Just visit the COMAR section of our website and check out the Camp Activities. Please contact us at gshelper@comgirlscouts.org or 1 (800) 4 SCOUT 4 ext. 316 and our dedicated Help Desk team will answer any questions and address your concerns. Our outdoor program staff, headed up by our new Director of Programs, will be taking an in-depth look at our offerings this summer. They will be making a thorough evaluation of everything from day-to-day programs to menu offerings to incorporating the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in more ways. We are looking forward to seeing the outcome of their hard work. In 2013, the Commonwealth Council celebrates 100 years. Please be a part of the celebration at any of the exciting events we have planned or celebrate with us at camp! Both the council and I look forward to seeing you there! Have a great summer!

Dear Campers and Parents, This year, we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts Commonwealth of Virginia Council! We are planning some incredible events and celebrations! Out at camp, the Rangers are busy making some exciting upgrades and getting both Pamunkey Ridge and Camp Kittamaqund ready for the 2013 camp season. We are delighted with the updated look the camps have as we move into the next 100 years of Girl Scouts in Central Virginia! We want you to be a part of our membership and our Camp family! Take the time to look through everything that is offered at our camps – day and overnight options, swimming, sailing, equestrian, arts & crafts, and more! Of course, we include plenty of Girl Scout traditions as well. Our outdoor programs offer unique opportunities for girls to grow, gain independence, develop an appreciation of nature, make new friends, and learn new skills. We are sure that there is something for every girl. Our world-class international staff is chosen for their character, understanding of girls, love for the outdoors, and special skills/certifications. Before camp starts, staff are screened and thoroughly trained in program skills, first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures. This rigorous but important process ensures that our girls have the safest adventure of a lifetime. Please join us this summer to experience the fun, laughter, adventure, and beauty that awaits you at camp. Camp is a unique environment where girls can blossom into girls of courage, confidence, and character while they create memories that will last a lifetime. Come be a part of our next 100 years!!

Camp Kittamaqund Girl Scout Camp About Camp Kittamaqund
Camp Kittamaqund is located on a 387 acre site in Northumberland County, approximately 80 miles east of Richmond, with five miles of shoreline along the Great Wicomico River. Camp Kitty, as it is affectionately known, features four living units, enclosed shelters for inclement weather, a modern dining hall with restaurant quality kitchen, swimming pool, arts & crafts building, and a large sports field.

Day Camp Periwinkle Pals
Spend a long summer day at Kitty’s very own beach lagoon. While at the beach, enjoy playing games and building sand castles for mermaids near the shimmering waves. Explore the waterways where other sea creatures spend their days. Visit “Sleepy Hollow’s Fairy Forest” and build a fairy house, or take a sunset hike to Hidden Cove. Have fun with arts and crafts in the tree house, cook outdoors, and more. $260 June 23-28
Okay, let’s start camping! This week is designed to help Girl Scouts learn what camp is all about. Girls will take part in swimming, hiking and lots of other introductory-level activities that will challenge them while maximizing their fun. $130 June 17-21
Smooth Sailing
Weather permitting, campers will perform tippy tests in a Sunfish sailboat, sail with an experienced sailor to a beach for an afternoon picnic, and learn the parts of the sailboat. Plenty of time will still be set aside for arts and crafts, campfires, swimming and more! This is a great introduction to our extensive sailing program. Girls must be comfortable in water over their heads in a personal floating device. $260 June 16-21
Water or Land? … Both Please!
Do you think you have what it takes to ‘survive’ the two weeks at camp? Explore the outdoors and cook a meal while enjoying your time of fun at camp. You will set up challenges for your fellow campers and create a camp-wide obstacle course for all your fellow camp survivors. Have some fun in the sun at Camp Kitty! Create your own sand art, play some Cove games, splash around in the water, and discover a new world under the sea. Explore the depths of the Cove on our beach adventure. Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, and get ready for a big ole’ Beach Party Camp Kitty style. $405 June 16-28

Re-gatta-go (We-gotta-go) Race
Seriously Sailing
Race through camp on an amazing adventure, but watch out for detours! Teams of racers will navigate a course of challenges around camp where skill, knowledge, and teamwork get you ahead. Use different types of transportation and solve clues, riddles and puzzles, and Click any complete physical challenges to get to the next stop. Will and you be the master archer, swimming star, the gleek? The camp title ia race will end at the Cove but your team must make its own register v boat to get there—regatta anyone? COMAR! $260 June 23-28
Weather permitting, girls will have sailing lessons. Staff will help girls progress through Kitty’s unique sailing program. Girls will be divided into sailing classes geared towards their skill level. They will work with their instructors toward individual goals, culminating their experience with an all camp “regatta”: the Princess Kitty Invitational. Girls must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over their heads in a personal floating device. $405 June 16-28
Shutterbugs 2013
It’s time to share the fun of camp with everyone else! Spend some time learning to work the digital camera and try editing your own video. Then, spend your time getting ready to share the fun of camp with the GS world as you share what Girl Scout camp is all about! Please bring a digital camera. Not only will you get to be the star of your own video, but you’ll have plenty of time to experience all the fun camp has to offer. $260 June 16-21
Journey Journal
Do you need a break from all of the serious stuff? At camp, be a girl with no worries. Just relax, make friends and journal. This is all about you and your story. Swim, sing, make crafts, cook s’mores and try archery. Take a break from reality and have a blast at camp $260 June 23-28
Elite Mariners
Sail the waters of the River in our fleet of watercrafts. Work to perfect your already strong sailing skills. This program is geared toward experienced sailors looking to advance their skills and learn racing techniques. Campers must have an intermediate to advanced level of sailing skills. All campers should be comfortable and confident operating a boat with minimal assistance and must perform a skills check upon arrival to ensure that this is the correct level placement. Girls must be able to swim 50 meters and be comfortable in water over their heads in a personal floating device. $405 July 16-28

Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp is located on 240 acres along the banks of the Pamunkey River approximately 25 minutes north of Richmond. 3 Cheers for Animals (Mini-Camp)
Are you ready to be courageous and strong with Tula? How about responsible for what I say and do like Mari? We think you are and while we are at it, lets take a trip to visit the Pamunkey Ponies. No we are not horsing around. Let’s go see how the horses get groomed, and assist the barn staff. Then we will travel into the wilds of Singing Woods for our very own safari. The fun does not stop there so come out to camp – we will be laughing like hyenas and be busy as bees! $175 June 30 – July 3
It’s Your World…Camp It!
Join our festival of fun and celebrate the summer – Pamunkey style! In this exciting mini program, design your own camp experience when you choose the “camptivities” you want to participate in. Get creative in the craft shed, splash in the pool, learn some new dance moves, take a twilight hike, or even make gourmet goodies over a campfire. Do you want to spend a week with Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the Three Little Pigs? In Fairy Tale Land you can! Spend time listening to and reading your favorite fairy tales while making fairy tale themed arts and crafts and playing fairy tale themed games. Girls will also get to canoe, swim and more in this week of magic and fun! $175 June 30 - July 3
Spend a wet and wild week at camp swimming, playing water games, boating, fishing, and learning about the world of water. Designed for beginners – advanced swimmers, this is a great way to get your feet wet in a week full of fun in the sun. $260 July 14-19

Star Light, Star Bright
Did you know Juliette Lowe used to teach girls how to tell time by the stars? We will do some fun experiments with gravity, moon walking and creating art sculptures with moon sand. We have out-of-this world games like solar/lunar eclipse and Marvin the Martian. Concoct alien slime, make Mentos soar and more! To infinity and beyond! $260 July 28 - August 2
American Girls
Explore life as it was 250 years ago. As colonists, you’ll make pomander balls, a quill pen and then cook up innkeeper’s pie, molasses gingersnaps, and colonial stew. You and your group will spend a full day without electricity or modern inventions and tour a colonial farm. $260 July 14- 19
Celebrate You! (Mini-Camp)
Every day is a celebration at camp while you celebrate for reasons big and small. From everyone’s “birthday” to new friendships! Each day is a different party as you enjoy party games, crafts, and food. End your stay with a centennial Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth celebration! Come celebrate and make new friends! Come join the science of fun! Experiment with light, water and magnets. Make slime and invisible ink, grow a crystal garden, and create a pizza box oven. You’ll also have time for swimming, boating, arts and crafts and a session at the archery range. $260 July 14-19

You won’t hear the sound of an early morning alarm here! Spend a week staying up late and sleeping in. The fun is just starting while you do traditional daytime activities. The real adventures start at sundown. Your moonlight activities will include night hiking, astronomy, late night snacks, science tricks, archery, swimming and a sleep-out under the night sky. $260 July 21-26
Show Stoppers
Be a show stopper and get a taste of the silver screen! Spend a day making your own set. Pick your costumes, practice a skit, and create a “movie” of your own. Mad Science
Fizzy, gooey, bubbly experiments are waiting for a super scientist like you! Join other science sleuths as you explore how to make your experiments grow, pop, and explode! Do you dream of becoming a designer or want to learn to sew? Girls will learn the basics of sewing and design something of their own! Learn how to use a sewing machine. Create a patchwork pillow and a simple bag to carry your camp things. Learn to use cutting tools, how to read a pattern and how to sew on a button. As a group, create a memory quilt of fun things you did at camp to donate. $260 August 4-9
Are We Lost?
You’re stranded on an imaginary island with only your wits and camp friends to depend on. What would you do?! Practice lashing and building a tree bed? Cook your own meals? Learn outdoor skills and wilderness techniques and then use your imagination to make this primitive camp “island” your home away from home! Girls will spend the week on their “own island” - tents, cookouts, and survival skills anyone? Search for hidden clues using basic orienteering skills you will learn at camp. Practice letterboxing and geocaching. $260 July 28 - August 2
Please Chill
Embrace your inner flower child at camp. You’ll make tiedye shirts, weave daisy chains, and make friendship bracelets. Try a yoga session and center into a peaceful connection to camp. Work on making your piece of the earth a more peaceful place. $260 July 21-26

Dark As Night
What’s awake after hours at camp? You are! Find out what’s roaming, where the North Star hides and what professions keep you up after dark. Take a night hike and check out the constellations while you stargaze at the barn. Learn about raptors that hunt at night and other nocturnal critters. Make glow-in-the dark night shirts and enjoy camp by the light of the moon. You’ll sleep in and your afternoons are filled with swimming, arts and crafts and nature activities. Campers should bring an oversized white t-shirt. $260 July 7-12

How would you like to come to camp and “chill out” for a few days? Maybe you would like to relax with soothing music? Learn about and make natural skin products? Enjoy activities like massages, facials and yoga? Girls will learn about healthy eating, skin care and making exercise a fun part of every day. Guard Me (Mini-Camp)

Come to Camp and become a lifeguard! Girls will spend their week learning skills from certified American Red Cross instructors. Upon passing the program, girls will earn their Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR certifications and can use these skills after camp ends. Girls must be able to swim 500 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7–10 feet and retrieve a ten pound object before taking this course. *NOTE: Girl must be age 16 or older the opening day of the Camp session to participate. $250 June 30 - July 3
Equestrian Programs Summer Saddle-Up
Current Daisy through Ambassador NEW THIS YEAR! Summer Saddle-Up is a 2½ hour equestrian experience at Pamunkey Ridge. Girls will learn the basics of grooming, tacking, riding, and caring for a horse. They will experience the excitement of riding a horse or pony in an enclosed environment. Saddle Up is designed for troops but individual Girl Scouts are more than welcome to attend. However, they will be assigned to troops attending. Pasture Pals (Mini-Camp)
4 days and 3 nights For Younger/Beginner Riders For girls entering grades 2 - 6 GIRLS WILL BE ASSIGNED CABINS ACCORDING TO AGE This is the perfect program for beginner riders that are not ready for a full week of camp. Learn some of what it takes to care for a horse while gaining basic instruction in horseback riding during this short week. You will still get to enjoy all the other fun activities that camp has to offer. Girls will be grouped by riding level. $225 June 30 - July 3
Boots ‘n’ Saddles
6 days and 5 nights For girls entering grades 3-12 This is the perfect program for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders. Beginners will learn the proper way to mount, dismount, walk and steer a horse. Intermediate and advanced riders will have the opportunity to improve and advance their equestrian skills. The girls will learn aspects of the English riding discipline appropriate for their experience. If the girls chose to, they may also learn and develop their skills in Western riding. Don’t worry; there will still be time to enjoy the other camp activities. Girls will be tested the first day by the equestrian specialist and grouped by riding levels. $395 Session 1: July 7-12 Session 2: July 14 - 19 Session 3: July 21 - 26 Session 4: July 28 – August 2 Session 5: August 4 - 9 Girls will be assigned to cabins by age.
Older Girl Leadership Programs Counselor-In-Training I (16+ years)
Put your outdoor expertise and leadership experience into action in this two-year program. During year one, the first two weeks will be spent polishing your camp skills, exploring program development and learning leadership skills. For the remainder of the time, you will put these skills to use in an internship with younger campers. This is a 4-week session with two weeks at Camp Kitty and then two weeks at Pamunkey Ridge. Girls will return home for the dates not listed below. $400 June 16- 28 at Camp Kittamaqund July 7 – 12 and July 14 -19 at Pamunkey Ridge
Counselor-In-Training II (16+ years)
Pre-requisite: Counselor-In-Training I Those who have successfully completed a first year CIT program are eligible for a second year of CIT training. Of course, you will still have an opportunity to be in a CIT group but you will also spend more time taking on a leadership role. You’ll start by joining the staff in pre-camp training as your school schedule allows. If you are ready, you will take Lifeguard training, and choose another area in which to become proficient. Whether you wish to concentrate in sailing, canoeing, archery, campcraft, challenge, nature or crafts, you will be given the opportunity to excel in your area of choice. Your time in the instructor role will be nurtured by senior staff who are willing to go the extra bit in order to help you succeed. You will be prepared to step into the staff role as a well qualified member. This is a 4-week session with two weeks at Camp Kitty and then two weeks at Pamunkey Ridge. Girls will return home for the dates not listed below. $400 June 16- 28 at Camp Kittamaqund July 7 – 12 and July 14 -19 at Pamunkey Ridge
Program Aide Training
Are you interested in being in a leadership role at camp? Would you like to learn the ins and outs of working with younger girls? If so, this session is for you! During this program, girls will receive leadership training and will assist counselors in leading camp activities. Program Aides will also enjoy being campers and participate in general camp activities. Session 1: June 30- July 3 (Mini Camp) Session 2 - July 14-19 $175 week $200 week
Trained Program Aide
For girls entering grades 7-12 Upon completion of the Program Aide Training (either at camp or in the troop setting), girls are eligible to register for further sessions as pre-trained Program Aides at a reduced cost of $175 (resident camp) per week. Girls will be assigned to a group and assist counselors or work in a specialized area, such as arts and crafts or canoes. These hours count toward their Program Aide patch. Every Tuesday night at Pamunkey, campers and staff break out the costumes and share a special theme dinner. From being pirates and eating the spoils of the day’s capture (not really) to saluting our country’s finest on USA Night with great American fare and some special uniformed guests. These nights are a ball (well, at least Princess and Fairies Night is!). Campers are invited to bring costumes with them and join in on the fun.

Q: WHERE ARE THE CAMPS?
A1: Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp is located on 240 acres along the shores of the Pamunkey River approximately 25 minutes north of Richmond, VA.
A2: Girl Scout Camp Kittamaqund is located on a 387 acre site in Northumberland County, approximately 80 miles east of Richmond with five miles of shoreline along the Great Wicomico River.
Q: WHAT ARE THE ACCOMMODATIONS?
A1: Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp has two living units containing cabins sleeping 8-14 girls each. Modern shower and restroom facilities are also located in each unit. A2: Girl Scout Camp Kittamaqund has four living units; three units with platform tents each sleeping four girls and one unit with platform tents sleeping two girls. All units contain private open-air hot showers.
Q: IF MY CAMPER ATTENDS AN EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM, CAN SHE PARTICIPATE IN OTHER CAMP ACTIVITIES?
A: Yes, girls attending an equestrian program will have time for other activities as well. Although our equestrian programs are designed to be very intense, your daughter will still have time for playing various sports and games, swimming, and participating in other general camp activities.
Q: WILL MY DAUGHTER NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO ATTEND AN EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM?
A: Yes, all girls in an equestrian program will need to bring boots or shoes with at least a half-inch heel to prevent their feet from sliding through the stirrups. Hiking boots with lug soles, tennis shoes, and sandals will not be allowed. Approved riding helmets for all participants will be provided. (Note: Camp does have loaner shoes. However, we may not have every size.)
Q: WHEN SHOULD MY DAUGHTER ARRIVE AT CAMP?
A: Resident camp participants will check-in between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the opening day of a session. Parent (s) or guardian(s) are asked to stay with their daughter until the check-in procedure is completed.
Q: WHEN WILL MY DAUGHTER BE LEAVING CAMP?
A1: Equestrian Participants: Parents, families and friends are invited to attend a closing show on Fridays at 10 a.m. Girls will be ready for check-out at approximately 11 a.m. A2: General Resident Camp Participants: Parents, families, and friends are invited to attend a closing ceremony starting promptly at 2 p.m. All girls should be picked up by 3 p.m. Parents should be sure that all of their daughterâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s possessions are packed before leaving camp. (Parents may arrive as early as 1 p.m. to collect their daughterâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s belongings.) Lost and found items will be held at the Girl Scout office in Mechanicsville for 30 days.

A3: Day Camp Participants: A closing ceremony on Friday will begin promptly at 2 p.m. Parents, family, and friends are invited and encouraged to attend. Parents picking girls up from camp should do so by 3 p.m. Note: Gates open at 1:00 p.m.
Q: WILL AN ADULT SLEEP IN THE CABIN OR TENT WITH MY CHILD?
A: No, staff sleep within the group of cabins (also called living units), but have their own cabins or tents. This is in keeping with guidance from our national organization, GSUSA.
Q: WHO CAN ATTEND CAMP?
A: Camp is for all girls meeting the camp session age/grade guidelines in the fall of 2013. There is no discrimination on the basis of race, color, age, handicap, religion, socioeconomic status, or national origin. Due to safety and facility considerations, all programs have maximum participation capacities. Every attempt will be made to accommodate girls with disabilities if they are verbal and able to care for their own hygiene. If your daughter has special mental, physical or emotional needs, please contact GSCV’s Manager of Outdoor Programs Services prior to registering.
Q: CAN WE COME VISIT DURING A CAMP SESSION?
A: No. To help the program continuity and maintain security for all campers, visitors are only allowed at camp during open house and arrival/departure hours.
Q: WHAT IF MY DAUGHTER IS TAKING MEDICATION?
A: All medication must be turned in to the Camp Health Supervisor during check-in on opening day. All medications must be in their original containers and must bear the camper’s name on the label. Medications will be administered by the Health Supervisor.
Q: WHAT IF MY DAUGHTER HAS DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
A: The kitchen staff will prepare special meals considerate of health problems, personal choice (e.g. vegetarian), or religious requirements. Include this information on your camper’s Health Examination form. In extreme cases, please notify the Manager of Outdoor Programs at least three weeks prior to your daughter’s session.

Important Info About Summer Camp
How To Register
NEW this year! Camp registration is online through the Commonwealth Online Membership & Activity Registration system, COMAR! By clicking the link you will have access to the 2013 GSCV summer camp menu. If your daughter is a currently registered Girl Scout in GSCV, just use the login you already set up. If your daughter is not yet a registered Girl Scout or is a Girl Scout registered through a different council thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s okay, just contact our help desk and your request will be processed promptly. GSCV Girl Scout camp is open to all currently registered Girl Scouts. Should you prefer to register with a paper registration you can download it from the link below. Or, you can contact our help desk at gshelper@comgirlscouts.org or 804-746-0590 x316. Please note that paper registrations will be processed upon receipt. However, a camp session could reach capacity while your hardcopy is in processing. Therefore we strongly recommend that you register online.

Each camp session can be paid in full or secured with a deposit. The remaining balance can be made as a second payment, due two weeks prior to the session starting. Please note change in deposit amounts this year.
Financial assistance
We are committed to providing a quality camping experience for all girls. With this we understand that not all may be able to financially bear the full cost of attending camp. If you wish to attend camp but are in need of financial assistance please e-mail gshelper@comgirlscouts.org, include your contact information and the preferred method of how you would like to receive the financial assistance application (either standard mail or e-mail) and our Help Desk team will assist you.
Cancellation & Refund policy
A cancellation fee is attached to each camp session as indicated on the session description in COMAR. Refund requests must be made two weeks prior to the session start date. Refunds will be issued for the amount paid less the cancellation fee and may take up to 30 days to process. Refunds will be given at the discretion of the Council, however, no refunds will be given for any of the following reasons: 1. Camper returns home from camp due to home-sickness. 2. Camper uses tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs. 3. Camper is sent home for behavior which does not meet the Camper Code of Conduct signed before camp. 4. Camper or parent does not enjoy the camp session or feels the camp session did not meet their expectations. 5. Camper misses a portion of their camp session. 6. A girl does not attend camp and the council is not notified in writing two-weeks prior to the start of the program. 7. Camp program components are modified due to weather or minimum number of campers is not met. 8. Camp trips cancelled due to lack of participants. 9. Camp closes due to natural disaster.

Health & Safety
A Camp Health History form will be mailed in early April, you will need this document during your doctors appointment. All resident camp participants, girls and adults, are required to have a physical examination by a licensed physician within 24 months of the opening day of the camp session. A health supervisor or certified first aid provider is on-site and a doctor is on-call 24 hours a day. All medications must be turned in during check-in and will be administered by the health supervisor and documented accordingly. All medications must be in their original containers and must bear the camper’s name on the label. Should a health emergency arise, parent(s)/guardian(s) will be notified. For this reason, it is important that you complete the registration form properly and include all telephone numbers and emergency contacts in case you cannot be reached. All camp participants are required to have a current, fully completed health history form that is signed by a parent or guardian. Appropriate forms will be mailed to you in the camper’s confirmation packet. Completed forms must be returned to the Mechanicsville Girl Scout office no later than two weeks prior to the start of your daughter’s camp session. Girls will not be allowed to stay on-site without health forms on file. The kitchen staff will prepare special meals considerate of health needs or religious requirements. Include this information on your camper’s health examination form or health history form.
First-Rate Staff
We choose staff members for their character, understanding of girls, love for the outdoors and special skills and certifications. Camp staff are thoroughly screened; additionally, they undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings. All employed resident and day camp staff are thoroughly trained in program skills, first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures prior to the beginning of camp. Volunteer day camp staff members are given training in program skills and emergency procedures prior to the start of camp.

Resident campers receive letters via U.S. mail or you may bring with you to check-in (information will be in confirmation packets) Resident campers make or receive phone calls only in case of emergency. The Manager of Outdoor Programs is available by phone 24 hours a day. Visitors are permitted only for check-in and the closing ceremony.
Lost & Found
All recovered lost and found items will be held at the Mechanicsville office for two weeks after the camp season has concluded. Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia is not responsible for valuables lost at camp. Recovery of lost belongings is greatly increased when all items, not just clothing, are clearly marked with the camper’s first and last names -- this includes sleeping bags, pillows, individual mess kit pieces, towels, footwear, etc.

The above is our statement of promise to girls; in turn we expect that each camper: • Will act in a responsible manner to maintain the health and safety of herself and others. • Will respect the places and the people with whom she comes in contact. • Will treat all equipment provided for her use with care. • Will assume her share of daily responsibilities. • Will be sensitive to the needs of each group member. • Understands that the use or possession of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs will not be tolerated, and that usage will result in immediate expulsion with no refunds. • Understands that repeated or serious misconduct, to include name calling, bullying, pranks, or acts of retaliation could result in immediate expulsion. In the event of repeated or extreme misconduct, at the discretion of the camp director, parents will be notified to pick up their camper, at their expense, immediately; no refunds given. • Will not bring equipment to camp that will be used in a violent manner. Parents will be notified to pick up their camper immediately if camper has or uses anything as a weapon; no refunds given.
A Note to Parents: We take very seriously the role you have given us when you entrusted the health and safety of your daughter to us for her stay at Camp Kittamaqund or Pamunkey Ridge Girl Scout Camp. Camp provides many of the essential elements that experts say contribute to a healthy mental state in children. While as camp staff we will do everything in our power to create a safe environment, parents can help too. Please help your daughter pack for camp and be aware of her camp possessions.
