The quality of the leadership base for every community determines the quality of life within that community. Gulf South Leadership Institute’s approach to leadership development is essentially an approach to community development. The approach is simply that we build the leadership base

Gulf South Leadership Institute exists to provide leadership guidance for nonprofits, businesses and educational organizations within the Greater New Orleans Area and beyond. We provide various opportunities for leadership and management development and training.

THE INSTITUTE’S ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP COACHING AND CONSULTING PROGRAMS ARE TAILORED TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND VALUES WHICH RESULT IN CLIENTS: 1) Possessing leadership qualities which motivate them to lead and manage business environments, and the community at large, in a way that advances ethical leadership and healthy management practices. 2) Passionate about influencing the social, educational, and business communities with positive leadership principles and moral consistent with the code of ethics. 3) Engaging actively in their communities as citizens who are concerned about quality of life for all. 4) Successfully pursuing the attainment of personal and professional goals, and promotion within their field of endeavor. 5) Striving towards a legacy for the next generation by supporting and actively engaging themselves in the training and development of young leaders. 6) Cultivating an awareness of the inter-connectedness of nations and peoples and seeking opportunities to promote peace, goodwill, and the enrichment of life within the global village. 3


LEADERSHIP

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP APPROACH   Gulf South Leadership Institute serves nonprofits, and business organizations by facilitating integrity of leadership and management practice for organizational Leadership in Greater New Orleans and beyond. To this end, the Institute is available to provide coaching and consulting services to organizations to aid their leaders and managers.   A number of businesses today face challenges which reduce effectiveness and profitability, and in most cases a well-trained and prepared leadership/management team is the solution for overcoming these challenges. Gulf South Leadership Institute offers leadership development for organizations to inspire significant impact on talent retention and attraction. GSLI’s consulting model is support-based, and Involves engaging in day-to-day management operations for a specific amount of time while compiling an analysis. After the compilation of the analysis, a plan of action is developed and communicated, outlining the strengths and weaknesses of the leadership/management team under review.   GSLI offers a wealth of knowledge and experience to help clients build effective organizations and business environments, utilizing a number of current leadership and management principles tailored to meet their needs. In communicating and deploying these principles, unique methodologies are employed to design, plan, develop, implement and support each consulting project to a successful completion. 4

A traditional approach to organizational leadership/management can have the negative effect of reducing effectiveness and profitability, but this can be overcome by seeking a more progressive approach to management.   Gulf South Leadership Institute’s organizational leadership consulting helps individuals and organizations maximize their effectiveness, by improving leadership ability, work ethic, and team building. As leadership and management solutions change daily, many organizations are inadequately equipped with necessary resources for research and implementation of management principles consistent with the change(s). Prior to engaging in a client-consultant relationship, one of our consultants will conduct an analysis of the project and outline in detail the issues that need to be addressed as well as the time required for the successful completion of the project. Having agreed to hire the consultant, the client will sign an agreement with clearly spelled out terms and guidelines.
