June 9, 2012 Dear Girl Scout Friends, We are so excited to be joined by over 200,000 Girl Scouts, families and friends here in Washington, DC for Girl Scouts Rock the Mall: 100th Anniversary Sing-Along. Girl Scout troops from every council in the nation as well as Girl Scouts, Girl Guides and alumnae from around the world are here on the National Mall to join our fun-filled song fest. Take advantage of this opportunity to “make new friends” as we celebrate our Movement’s 100th Anniversary in true Girl Scout style—in song! We want to thank the troop leaders, parents, volunteers and alumnae for making Girl Scouts Rock the Mall their destination to mark our 100th Anniversary. For our girls, this will be a treasured memory that will last a lifetime and confirmation that they are part of a powerful organization solely focused on leadership development and friendship. We know that these girls will carry the torch and continue our proud traditions. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our corporate sponsors listed in this program guide. They have made an important investment in Girl Scouting and our mission to empower girls and young women to become our world’s next leaders. A wise commitment, because we know that when girls grow up with courage, confidence and character, they become women who strengthen our families and our nation. The song leaders today are talented girls and women, with Girl Scout roots, who will perform traditional and new Girl Scout songs. The winner of Girl Scouts and K12 I Want to Rock the Mall YouTube talent search, Girl Scout Ambassador Dana Marie from New Jersey will debut her original song, “Girl Scout Cookie Rap”. We will attempt a Guinness World Record singing and performing a flash-mob to the official theme song of Girl Scouts Rock the Mall, “Ignite” by Melinda Caroll and sung by Girl Scout Cadette Ani Hesse from Los Angeles. Over sixty Girl Scout songs will be sung, and of course the best part is that you get to sing-along. Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts and now, let’s Rock the Mall! Your sisters in Girl Scouts,

Girl Scouts are exceptional young women. It’s a fact we never forget at Booz Allen Hamilton, where we value leadership skills, teamwork, and diversity. The past 100 years have proven that Girl Scouts can change the world—as teachers, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and inventors. We are committed to offering mentoring programs like Make the Connection and the Environmental Leadership Institute because, to us, mentoring Girl Scouts is about more than good corporate citizenship. It’s our opportunity to help the next generation of women be ready for what’s next.
