Girl Scout Cookie Sale The annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program is an amazing experience! Besides earning funds for your troop, you can earn great prizes for yourself. And while having fun, you’re also building skills like budgeting, marketing, planning, and goal setting which will help you throughout your life! This year’s sale kicks off January 3, 2014.
Girl Scout Bronze Award This is the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can achieve. To earn the award, you’ll team up with other Girl Scout Juniors. Together, you’ll pick a project that you care about and that will make a difference in the world.
SPECIAL GIRL SCOUT DAY – FEBRUARY 22 World Thinking Day 2014: Education Opens Doors for all Girls and Boys Each year on World Thinking Day, girls participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. World Thinking Day not only gives girls a chance to celebrate international friendships, but is also a reminder that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community—one of nearly 150 countries with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Individual Registration Any girl in the grade level listed above can register for this event along with an adult chaperone. Troop registrations will not be accepted for individual-only events. Troop Registration An adult member of the troop coordinates registration for the girls and adults participating. Registration You may register online or by mail. All registrations must be accompanied by fees. Checks should be made payable to Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines. Faxed, emailed, phoned, or in-person registrations will NOT be accepted.
Registering Online • Register online on or after the Registration Opening Date in the C.O.R.E. system at www.nccoastalpines.org. • To be placed on the waitlist, you must register and pay in full.
Registering By Mail • Mail-in registrations will not be accepted if the postmark is more than seven days prior to the Registration Opening Dates. Mailed registrations will not be accepted if the postmark is more than seven days prior to the Registration Opening Dates and will not be processed until the opening date. • If registering for multiple events, a separate registration form and fees for each event are required. • If financial assistance will be requested, the deposit ($5 per person per event or one-third of the event fee, whichever is greater) and financial assistance request form must be included with registration. • To request forms, please email helpdesk@nccoastalpines.org.
Cancellation of Event Policy Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient registration, acts of nature, or any other reason beyond its control. Council-sponsored events are held rain or shine, unless inclement weather adversely affects the program. If an event is canceled or rescheduled, registered participants will be notified and refunds processed accordingly.

Financial Assistance Financial assistance is available for registered Girl Scouts who would otherwise be unable to attend individual programs, council-sponsored events, and camps.

Girl Scouting helps girls become leaders in their daily lives and in the world. Let girls know about all the fun they’ll have—and tell families what Girl Scouts does and why it matters. Help girls make the connection between their troop and the millions of girls around the country and the world who share a mission to make the world a better place. Use the national leadership curriculum to help girls experience the three keys to leadership—Discovering Self, Connecting with Others, and Taking Action— in the world. Girls want to know they can make a difference in the world. Help girls identify a problem they want to solve, reach out to others who can help, and put together their Take Action project. Girls feel proud and confident when they’ve learned a new skill through earning a badge. Show girls the badges available at their grade level and guide them as they earn the ones that interest them most. Give girls the opportunity to go to new places, meet new friends, and talk to experts in various fields. This expands their horizons and helps them imagine all kinds of new possibilities for their futures. Hold award ceremonies to celebrate what girls have learned; enjoy beloved Girl Scout traditions, such as flag ceremonies, sing-alongs, and campfires; or come together at bridging ceremonies to mark the moment when girls move to the next level in Girl Scouting. Girls have fun when they can shape their own experiences, do hands-on activities, and work together as teams. Help make this happen by using Girl Scouts’ three processes: Girl Led, Learning by Doing, and Cooperative Learning. Coach girls to develop five key skills—Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics—by taking part in the largest girl-led business in the world.
