Your Guide to a Color Filled Weekend
The Event coordinators have the final decision as to the safe placement of vehicles. With the exception of loading and unloading directly related to arrival and departure, all vehicles must remain parked in their designated areas. No driving is allowed in camp without authorization! Speed Limit: 10 mph. Check your speed. Maintenance Problems: Notify your Unit Leader if you have determined that there is a problem. Trash: Please place in plastic bags and put in the dumpsters available at each Unit Area. Recycling: Recycling bins are available at each Unit Lodge. REMEMBER: A Girl Scout leaves a place cleaner than she found it. Smoking/Alcohol/Illegal Drugs: There is no smoking on any GSNETX property. To smoke, you must drive all the way out the gate to the County Road. Alcoholic beverages and federally prohibited substances and/or drugs will not be permitted on any GSNETX property.
Step into a world where colors come alive, inspiring emotions, setting the stage for creativity, and transforming your weekend experience. We are thrilled to extend our warmest welcome to GSNETX’s 18th annual Adult Retreat as we embark on a captivating exploration of how color influences and impacts our moods, energy, and the vibrant realms of arts and food.
ALL CAMP DINING HALL KAPERS - Important to Know and Do! For ALL Campers… please do not enter Dining Hall for dining until invited in by the Hostesses. Please stay standing until after grace! Unit Leaders for the units doing kapers are “captains” who are there to guide your unit team in the items outlined below. Hostesses should arrive at least 15 minutes before the meal. Hostesses will retrieve the trays to “set” the tables…but they can just put everything in the middle of the table…no need to actually set. They should return the trays to the kitchen ASAP so that the kitchen staff can begin preparing them for food. Grace: Once participants come into the dining hall, we will ask them to stand for grace. The hostess kapers pick and lead grace. Hopper: Once grace has been said a “hopper” from each table will go to the kitchen to retrieve the food. (This can be the person who set the table or any other camper at the table) Hopper Style: All meals will be served “hopper style” as in summer camp. The trays will be loaded with 6 - 7 meals. If you need more food, send the hopper from your table to the kitchen. The Cook Staff will set up a separate table in the dining hall area that will hold the cups and drinks as necessary. The Participants will clean their own table. Make sure that the leftover food is separate from the trash. Leftover food goes into the slop bucket and trash goes in the trash bucket. The Clean-Up Kaper makes sure all trash is picked up, sweep the floors and wipe down the tables. Only after breakfast on Sunday do we mop unless there is a major mess during another meal. If you are unable to help out at your Kaper time due to a scheduling conflict, simply help out at another time!
