Celebrate Girl Scout Week

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Girl Scouting! Girl Scout Week is an exciting and special time for Girl Scouts around the world. It is a week dedicated to celebrating the rich history, values, and achievements of the Girl Scout movement. Here's a breakdown of what Girl Scout Week typically involves a number of different opportunities! Girl Scout Week often kicks off on March 12, the birthday of the Girl Scout organization. This day is an opportunity to honor the vision of Girl Scouts and dedication to empowering girls.

Celebrate Your Way! Each Troop can decide if and how they celebrate but know there is fun from Sunday to Saturday in many areas! Girl Scout Week usually spans an entire week, providing a chance for troops and individual Girl Scouts to engage in various activities and event.

Service and Community Projects Many troops take this opportunity to give back to their communities by participating in service projects or community outreach activities. This reinforces the Girl Scout commitment to making the world a better place. There are also National Service Projects (https://www.girlscouts.org/en/activityzone/national-service-projects.html) that you can participate in that have preplanned outlines and resources to make service to others easy.

Girl Scout Sunday Many girls and leaders attend religious services in their Girl Scout uniforms on the Sunday of Girl Scout Week. It's a way to show appreciation and support of the community and to express the values of Girl Scouting. Girl Scouts Celebrate Faith events give Girl Scouts an opportunity to be recognized at their places of worship during Girl Scout Week, share their legacy of service to others, and deepen their connection to their faith and Girl Scouting. Celebration days include Girl Scout Sunday, Girl Scout Jummah, and Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat. (https://www.girlscouts.org/en/footer/faith.html)
