Girls in Aviation Day is an annual event put on by various chapters of Women in Aviation International with the goal of inspiring young people to expand their interest in aviation and explore the opportunities available in the industry!

Girls in Aviation Day Events FREE
This STEM-focused come & go event shares aviation with girls ages 8-17, along with families/scout leaders! Boys are welcome to attend too!
Event Details:
Career panel with multiple female aviation professionals (career panel session suggested for ages 12+ and is planned for 10:30-11:15)
Hands-on lab project working with sheet metal
Phonetic alphabet art projects
Opportunities to fly a flight simulator and learn airplane controls (please note that simulator flight slots are limited and will be available upon check in at the welcome center on the day of the event on a first-come, firstserved basis)
Airplane, helicopter, and engine scavenger hunt
Tours of the Abbott Aviation Center facility and opportunities to learn about Dual Credit courses & scholarships
Meet a female pilot and learn about flying

The North Texas Chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI) will be hosting its annual Girls in Aviation Day!
Event Details:
Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to women in various fields of aviation and aerospace, including pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, airport managers, business owners, and more. Exciting hands-on activities, such as flight simulators, build-a-helicopter, aviation phonetics, and more will also be available. Attendees will also be able to walk around and interact with a variety of aircraft.
The VIP Program for high school girls will feature advanced activities, mentoring, and hands-on, real-world experience - including a new station added this year!
