Featuring Girl Scout Youth & Adult Awardees Spring 2025
Girl Scout Mission
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
The Girl Scout Program
Grounded in the Girl Scout Promise and Law, Girl Scouting is an experiential, cooperative education program that promotes girls’ personal growth and leadership development. Partnering with caring adults, girls design fun and challenging activities that empower them and raise their voices within a local, national, and global sisterhood.
Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try: to serve God* and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law.
Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
*Members may substitute for the word God in accordance with their own spiritual beliefs.

Addison Bake—Green Bay, WI
Addison created a beautiful outdoor area for nursing home residents where they could enjoy the sunshine and nature. She held three classes over the winter, during which the residents painted birdhouses for the garden. When the weather warmed, she oversaw the transformation of the flower garden by removing old equipment, trimming overgrown plants, planting new flowers, weeding, and mulching.
Hailey Dachel Bloomer, WI
Hailey improved parts of the Ice Age Trail in the Hardwood Lakes segment. One lake along the trail, Picnic Lake, continues to rise each year, and the trail was unable to be used due to being mostly underwater. She reincorporated terraced rock stairs into the trail, blazed a new trail, and created a lookout not far from the trail, which now provides a space for reflection as well as a much-needed rest stop for hikers.

For her Gold Award, Mikayla worked to give people with disabilities access to work and life skills. She established a wellorganized plan for craft supplies, complete with instructions, videos, and pictures, to help students develop fine motor skills and other essential life skills. Her goal was to teach the students how to find the materials easily on their own and maintain a clean workspace.

Sienna
Kiewiz—Green Bay, WI
Sienna collaborated with the New Community Shelter to design a mural that portrays their mission. Her painting represents emerging from a dark time and recognizing that brighter days lie ahead. She also held art classes to teach residents how to express themselves through art. The shelter plans to incorporate art classes into its regular programming in the future.
Kindal
Parker—Wausau, WI
Kindal created educational packets for students at Hewitt Texas Elementary about bats and how they help the ecosystem, showing that bats are not as scary as they are often portrayed to be. She also built and installed two bat houses at Hewitt Texas Elementary School, providing students with firsthand experience of how bats can impact the ecosystem.

Emma Schueller—Weston, WI
Emma’s project addressed water safety issues in the greater Wausau area. She wanted to prevent future drowning accidents by providing access to free life jackets for people to use while enjoying the lake or river. She also educated 400 children on life jacket safety at school and created a video on how to fit a child for a life vest properly.

Elizabeth Stombaugh— Eau Claire, WI
Elizabeth made her church a more welcoming place for families by decorating the family room with a mural and three colorful trees where kids can hang art. She also created bags with quiet, Catholic-based items that kids could take to church. Additionally, she organized monthly post-church events that helped families to meet one another. Activities included dodgeball, kickball, yard games, and many more.

Carolyn Winder—Marshfield, WI
Carolyn worked with the educational director at the Mead Wildlife Area to update their history display by researching and writing text for panels on Ice Age megafauna, ensuring the information was engaging and accurate. She also planned upcoming additions to the area’s human history, helping to create a more comprehensive and educational experience for visitors.
McKenzie Williquette— Suamico, WI
To prevent damage to Bay View School’s outdoor areas, McKenzie created outdoor cubbies and benches to promote organization, ensuring that students have designated spaces for their belongings. She also taught students essential safety and organization techniques, helping them develop good habits so that the playground is a safer place for all.

Addison Zimmerman— Chippewa Falls, WI
Addison’s Gold Award project addressed public safety at a local ballpark. The ballpark did not have adequate first aid kits readily available to players or spectators. Addison created small first aid kits for all nine fields and two more extensive (trauma) first aid kits for more significant injuries. These kits will reduce the time it takes to care for an injury.

Aanya Kasera from Appleton, WI, was a recipient of the $5,000 Gold Award scholarship from GSUSA. She created a cultural education and appreciation initiative in her community to encourage children to develop their global literacy and spark their love for diversity. Alongside this initiative, she published a children’s book, Samosas With Saanvi, to share how she grew to love her cultural identity, capture the joys of cultural diversity, and portray the emotional journey behind acceptance. The mission of her project was to bridge the cultural literacy gap she noticed in her community, give children an environment to discover their own cultural identities, and foster meaningful community connections by encouraging safe discussion spaces.

Jennifer Dansand—Appleton, WI
Jennifer Dansand’s volunteerism for Girl Scouts is a testimony to her character and integrity. Her compassion is evident in the way she meticulously and intentionally cares for each and every Girl Scout. Jennifer makes sure each child is seen, honored, and able to participate and thrive in Girl Scout activities. While working with those in her troop, Jennifer leads by example, making the world a better place for others; she often goes above and beyond to make improvements not just for her troop but for future council groups. Other troop leaders in our council had expressed interest in taking their Girl Scouts camping but were uncertain about how to organize and manage the camp experience. Jennifer created a comprehensive camp model and curriculum for both neuro-diverse and neuro-typical Girl Scouts that is adaptable and easily usable by troops, volunteers, and the council. It includes instructions and adaptations for kapers, camp games, first aid, camp-specific crafts, menus, camp maps, safety resources, campfire stories, scavenger hunts, and sing-alongs.
Anna Knapp—Ellison Bay, WI
As the outdoor champion of her service area, Anna Knapp provides troops with any requested outdoor training, including required fire training and campfire cooking. Her love of the outdoors led her to work tirelessly to maintain the use of Camp Cuesta. Along with Sarah Martin, she spent months fundraising, meeting with leadership, and collaborating with local non-profits to ensure the Girl Scouts would be able to continue using the property in the future. In addition to her extensive outdoor knowledge, Anna is always willing to lend a hand, offer an ear, and mentor new leaders. She is a terrific organizer and a reliable source for information and ideas. New troop leaders are welcomed with open arms, and assistance is offered at every turn. Anna’s leadership has allowed her Girl Scout troop to have many amazing experiences and adventures, as evidenced by the fact that her high school-aged troop still has eleven members.
This award is the highest honor in Girl Scouts. It honors a registered adult Girl Scout whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or entire Girl Scout Movement.
Sarah Martin worked alongside Anna Knapp as a champion for Camp Cuesta to ensure its continued availability to Girl Scouts. She spearheads many of the events in her service area. She goes above and beyond by taking on the responsibility of managing the cookie cupboard in her area, which involves a significant amount of extra work that requires accommodating schedules and handling last-minute issues. Sarah teaches her Girl Scouts to aim high and take on projects that benefit their community; she also encourages older troops to help plan and run service area events, building their leadership skills. In addition, she is always available to provide help with questions or offer advice and is extremely welcoming to new troop leaders. Sarah is a fantastic resource for other troop leaders in the area!
Sarah Martin—Sister Bay, WI
This year has been nothing short of extraordinary. As we reflect, we celebrate the resilience, passion, and impact of our Girl Scouts, along with the incredible community that supports them.
To our Highest Award recipients—Gold, Silver, and Bronze Award Girl Scouts—your projects have reimagined local spaces, uplifted communities, and sparked conversations that will continue long after today. You have created nature havens for senior citizens, improved trails, painted murals that tell stories, educated others about bats and Ice Age megafauna, and championed sustainability through scrap metal recycling. You have provided life and work skills for individuals with disabilities, enhanced water safety, built outdoor recreation spaces, and provided essential safety resources for local playgrounds and ballparks. Girl Scout Take Action projects like these create a ripple effect of care and preparedness. You have proven that Girl Scouts are not just dreamers but doers—leaders who see challenges and create meaningful change. Your vision, determination, and leadership remind us all that change starts with one person willing to take the first step.
To our graduating Girl Scouts and scholarship recipients, this moment marks both the end and the beginning. Your Girl Scout journey has helped shape the confident, compassionate, and capable individual you are today. The skills you’ve gained, the friendships you’ve built, and the values you carry will serve as a foundation for all the opportunities ahead. As you take your next steps—whether in education, careers, or new adventures—remember that you are forever a Girl Scout, part of a movement that believes in the power of courage, confidence, and character. We look forward to watching you continue to lead, learn, and inspire.
To our extraordinary volunteers and adult award recipients, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your dedication, mentorship, and unwavering support help Girl Scouts become bold leaders who see problems not as obstacles but as opportunities to make a difference. You lead by example, demonstrating that leadership means looking beyond oneself and taking action for the good of others. Your guidance has created a ripple effect—empowering generations of Girl Scouts to recognize their potential and commit to improving the world around them. Thank you for your service, your passion, and your belief in the power of Girl Scouting.
As we look ahead, we invite each of you to continue your journey of impact. Consider tackling a new challenge in your community or stepping up as a volunteer to guide and inspire the next generation of change-makers. The world needs more Girl Scouts—more problem solvers, more go-getters, and more world changers. The world needs more hearts set on making a difference.
With gratitude and excitement for what’s to come!

Girl Scout Alums and Supporters: Stay Connected to Girl Scouts
Do you have fond memories of your time in Girl Scouts? Join a community made up of those who were Girl Scouts as children and those who want to support Girl Scouts now as they achieve today’s dreams and imagine tomorrow’s possibilities.
More than 50 million women participated in Girl Scouts as children—were you one of them? Daisy, Brownie, Junior, or higher, it all counts when it comes to calling yourself a proud Girl Scout alum!
Sustain the Girl Scout Mission by joining the 1912 Club!
With a monthly sustaining gift starting at $19.12, your gift honors the year Juliette Gordon Low founded Girl Scouts and spreads your generosity across the year, equating to an annual giving total of at least $229.44. Your gift can be directed to camp, Adventures on the Go, our general fund, or financial assistance, which is needed now more than ever.
Join the 1912 Club by June 12, 2025, and receive a pair of branded Girl Scout socks. To give, simply scan the QR code and click the box, “Show my support by making this a recurring donation,” when completing the donation form.
Many thanks to Associated Bank for their generous sponsorship of our 2025 Girl Scouts of Distinction events.
