$10M GOAL

In April, the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce celebrated the successful conclusion of the GROW Campaign. GROW, which launched on October 31, 2017, has successfully raised $10,218,650 to fund the execution of the Chamber’s 2018-2022 strategic plan.

Derek Ellington with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, who co-chaired the GROW Campaign along with Jon Bell of Bell Partners, welcomed the crowd to the Proximity Hotel for the celebration event. “This is a landmark moment for our community. We launched this effort with a bold vision of what Greensboro can be – what Greensboro should be – and you have responded and committed to ensuring that vision becomes a reality.”

211 investors who made multi-year commitments

“Our success in this campaign is evidence of the strong leadership in our community,” said Anita Hughes-Bachmann, United HealthCare, who Co-Chaired the Campaign Leadership Council with Steve Rendle of VF Corporation, “Each one of you – through your partnership and investment in the GROW Campaign -- has proven the power of a bold vision to rally people together and accomplish incredible tasks.” Terry Akin, of Cone Health and current Board Chair of the Greensboro Chamber, said “The campaign launched in October not by stating a goal, but by declaring an end – that this campaign would not just meet that goal, but would exceed it. It’s no surprise to me to see this result.” The more than $10M in funding was committed by 211 investors who made multi-year commitments to support the implementation of the GROW Plan. “The Campaign’s success is foundational for the Chamber and for Greensboro in the coming years,” said Chamber CEO Brent Christensen. “From here forward we can focus 100% on the work of growing the Greensboro economy, knowing we have the necessary resources and partnerships in place.”
