Camp Molly Lauman is in Scioto County in southern Ohio. We’ve been running Girl Scout summer camp there since 1929, so we have a rich heritage of encouraging girls to try new things, practice newfound skills, and make lifelong memories. Resident camp (i.e. sleepaway camp) gives you the opportunity to do something special this summer. You’ll make new friends and have a lot of fun, all while gaining independence and building character within a safe and supportive environment.

CAMP ACTIVITIES Each camp program has a theme that activities will focus around (check the descriptions on the following pages), but ALL campers will have plenty of time to do traditional camp activities like: • Swimming • Craft projects • Naturalist programs • Gardening • Cookouts

• Campfires and s’mores • Hanging out with new and old friends • Badge activities

Plus, tons of free-choice activities are available for each group to do together. Camp counselors will help girls plan their schedule on the first night of camp. Girls can pick group activities such as: • • • • • • • •

Archery Water Balloons Canoeing Slacklining Challenge Course DIY Projects Orienteering Watching an outdoor movie

• • • • • • • •

Sleeping under the stars Hiking Sports and games Night games Yoga Spa mixology Geocaching Gourmet s’mores

SLEEPING One of the things that makes camp stand out is our connection to the outdoor environment. Camp is definitely rustic, but totally awesome. Living outdoors provides you a chance to disconnect, unwind, and refocus on what matters most: YOU. You’ll stay in a platform tent, cabin, or yurt with other girls who have all signed up for the same camp program.

Platform Tent

Platform tents are heavy canvas structures with wooden floors and four beds. Open flaps allow for light and a breeze. Yurts are a cool cross between tents and cabins with ceiling fans, lights, screened windows, and four sets of bunk beds.

MEALS Most meals are served family style in the camp dining hall. We also do campfire cookouts where you’ll help plan and prepare the meal. Meals are delicious and healthy. We prepare many dishes from scratch, which allows us to easily accommodate most common allergies and dietary restrictions. Typical meals include homemade pizza, cheese quesadillas with tomato soup, and breakfast burritos. If you’re a picky eater, don’t worry! We always have a salad bar and sandwich station available.

YOUR COUNSELORS Our staff members go through an intense screening, selection, and training process. Many staff members are aspiring teachers, outdoor educators, and former campers. They come from all over Ohio, the United States, and the world to work here! Many come back year after year. Want to see who’s been hired this year? We post introductions and photos on our Facebook page. Are you interested in working at camp some day? Check out our Leader in Action camp to take the first steps toward becoming a camp counselor!

BRING A FRIEND! You can request ONE buddy to bunk with at camp. Requests for multiple buddies will not be honored. To be bunk buddies you and your friend must be registered for the same program and you must request each other by name, not troop number. Why just one buddy? Most campers stay in four-person tents or cabins. We do not allow groups of three to request each other because that leaves one girl in the tent/cabin who feels left out by not knowing everyone else. Besides, part of the fun of camp is making new friends, and that’s hard to do when you’re just hanging out with girls that you already know. If you have more than one friend coming to camp with you, don’t worry. You can hang out with all of your friends, new and old, during most of the day time activities, like swimming, meals, and game time.

…I would stay all year if I could.

Ready for a week of outdoor adventure? From chill spa retreats to high-flying adventures, we’ve got it all. Choose your adventure from the following week-long camps.

Boots & Bridles

inSPAration This camp is totally about you! Your time to be creative. Your time to relax. Your time to be you! Make cool recycled crafts, mix up your own spa products, learn relaxation techniques like yoga and aromatherapy, and show your style by turning a white T-shirt (bring your own or register early to get a free T-shirt) into your own tie-dyed masterpiece.
