VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INF ORM ATI ON FOR TEE NS AND ADU LTS

ABOUT
DAY CAMP
INF ORM ATI ON FOR GIR LS IN GRA DES K-6 Day camp is a place where girls are encouraged to try new experiences, learn basic outdoor skills, and make new friends. Our aim is for you to have a positive camp experience as you become more comfortable with the outdoors and in your own abilities and sense of self.
Day camp will be just the beginning of your outdoor experience with Girl Scouts. You will discover nature, learn flag ceremonies, do kapers (camp chores), cook outdoors, spend time with PAs (teen mentors), make crafts, go creeking, and much more during a five-day session held Monday–Friday, typically between 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
At day cam p, exp ect to: • • • • •
Have fun outside! Share in activities and chores with a new group of friends. Learn some basic outdoor cooking skills. Make new friends. Make decisions and plans with other girls and adults.
• • •
See spiders, swat mosquitoes, do some hiking, and learn to spot poison ivy! Learn some new camp songs. Rough it. Day camp sites are often rustic.*
*Some sites have latrines (outhouses, so no flushing!) and, at some, we have to put up our own shelters.
