ABOUT DAY CAMP Information for girls in grades K-6 Are you ready to discover your superhero powers? Join us for Day Camp 2017: Superhero Adventure! Day camp is an exciting introduction to the outdoors—our programs are full of sun, fun, and adventure! At day camp, girls try new things, make lifelong friends, and learn important skills, all while being their awesome selves. With a variety of summer day camp programs to choose from, girls are sure to find a camp for them and have the best summer ever! What do girls do at camp? • Discover exciting new ways to enjoy and explore the great outdoors. • Learn outdoor skills and go creeking! • Sing along to tons of camp songs. "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!"

• Spend time with experienced Program Aides. Program Aides are teen mentors—learn more on page 5!

• Learn responsibility through camp kapers. Camp kapers are chores that help keep camp looking great!

• Live the life of a camper and cook outdoors.

Day camps are five-day sessions, Monday–Friday, usually between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Strengthen self-confidence and develop talents.

⚬ Visit gsoh.org and click on the CORA link at the top right of the homepage to register online using the Council Online Registration Access (CORA) service. ⚬ To register online using CORA, you must be a current Girl Scout member and pay for program registrations with a credit or debit card.

⚬ Download and complete a registration form from gsoh.org or contact Council Headquarters to request a form.

Note: Paper registration forms that are mailed to Council Headquarters prior to March 24 will be returned to sender. Any forms that arrive after this date will be held until online registration opens on April 3. If you cannot be placed in a camp because there are no spaces available, you will receive a full refund.

Is financial assistance available?

A $20 transfer fee will be applied if you choose to switch camp sessions after your registration has been processed. If you cannot be placed in your camp session of choice, you will receive a full refund.

Cancellation and Refund Procedure If you are requesting a refund for your cancellation, the request must be made in writing and sent to Council Headquarters no later than 15 business days prior to the start of your registered camp. Your request must state the reason for the cancellation. If you are cancelling and are not requesting a refund, you can call Council Headquarters at 1-800-621-7042. Cancellations due to sudden illness or a family emergency must be submitted to Council Headquarters within two weeks after the first day of the camp session you registered to attend. In the event of any cancellation, 10 percent of the day camp fee paid will be retained for handling charges.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Spend your summer guiding campers through the great outdoors. Encourage curiosity, help create a sense of adventure, and be a role model for girls by volunteering at day camp! We rely on dedicated volunteers to help us create and deliver nine fun-filled weeks of day camp every summer. The number of girls who can be accepted for camp is dependent on the number of adults who volunteer. Grab your friends and sign up to give girls a summer full of outdoor adventure!

Being a day camp volunteer is awesome! Visit gsoh.org and click Volunteer Today! • Select Camp/Seasonal volunteers and enter some basic information.

• Volunteers must have an updated, successful background check completed within the past three years.

• Check Unsure* if you are only interested in volunteering for day camp, and complete your adult membership registration.

All day camp volunteers are required to attend training that is specific to their camp. Day camp directors will notify volunteers of the training dates and times.

*By selecting Unsure (found on the last page of your search) you are moving forward to register as a day camp volunteer. If you are also interested in becoming a troop volunteer, look for a troop near you.

TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS Information for girls in grades 6–12 Day camp is the perfect environment for teens to grow as leaders. Work closely with younger girls while sharpening your skills and earning leadership awards. Check out the opportunities below to discover which program is for you!

Experience camp in a whole new way! Learn basic outdoor skills and how to teach them. Have fun building teamwork and leadership skills with your group, and earn one of three LIA awards.

Take your leadership skills to the next level as a PA2! Earn service hours toward recognitions and assist day camp adult volunteers to help create a positive camp experience for girls.

Previous day camp experience not required.

Share your love of camp with younger Girl Scouts! PA training will teach you skills to be a confident, effective leader. You’ll practice teaching activities and learn how to serve as a mentor to younger girls. We’ll provide training to help you develop outdoor skills and become proficient in other day camp tasks.

Take the lead this summer as an Advanced Program Aide. Work with the camp director to develop your leadership role, then create and lead a special activity for campers. You'll gain experience that will last a lifetime! Prerequisite: PA1 and PA2

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM? To apply for the LIA program, complete the day camp registration form online or mail a paper registration form to Council Headquarters with the camp fee.* See the camp session’s description on the next page for its cost and registration deadline. Note: All teen mentors must be currently registered Girl Scouts. There is additional training required for all program aide levels.

To apply for PA training, register online or mail a paper registration form to Council Headquarters with the $15 program fee*— PA1, PA2, and advanced program aides do not have to pay the camp fee associated with the session they register to attend. Upon registration, complete the Program Aide Application.
