Is financial assistance available?

A $20 transfer fee is applied if you switch camp sessions after registration is processed. If you cannot be placed in your camp session, you will receive a full refund.

Yes! Find out more information by visiting gsoh.org/daycamp. In addition, any adult who volunteers for a full week at day camp will receive one free camp session (up to a $70 value) for one girl relative who is a currently registered Girl Scout.

Cancellation and Refund Procedure If you are requesting a refund for your cancellation, a written request must be sent to Council Headquarters no later than 15 business days prior to the start of your registered camp. Your request must state the reason for the cancellation. If you are canceling and are not requesting a refund, call Council Headquarters at 1-800-621-7042. Cancellations due to sudden illness or a family emergency must be submitted to Council Headquarters within two weeks of the first day of your registered camp. For any cancellation, 10 percent of the day camp fee paid will be retained for handling charges. 2

Tier One closely reflects the full cost of camp, including staff expenses, property maintenance, food, and program supplies. Tier Two is a partially subsidized cost of camp, for families that can pay a little more, but not the full cost of camp. Tier Three is heavily subsidized through participation in product programs, special events, donations, and grants.

We believe every girl, regardless of financial circumstances, should have the opportunity to experience camp. While the cost to maintain camp continues to rise, we understand families have differing abilities to meet summer camp costs. For this reason, we’ve adopted tiered pricing.

Choose the tier that works best for you and your family. Fee choice is on the honor system and no financial documentation is required. All campers will have the same experience regardless of the tier chosen, and camp staff will have no knowledge of the tiers their campers’ families have chosen.

You may choose to participate in any leadership program for which you meet the requirements.

Note: All teen mentors must be currently registered Girl Scouts. There is additional training required for all program aide levels.

How do I register for one of the Teen Leadership Programs? To register for the LiA program

Spend your summer guiding campers through the great outdoors. Encourage curiosity, inspire adventurers, and be a role model for girls by volunteering at day camp! We rely on dedicated volunteers to help us deliver nine successful, fun-filled weeks of day camp each summer. The number of girls accepted for camp depends on the number of adult volunteers. Grab your friends and sign up to give girls a summer full of possibilities.

Being a day camp volunteer is awesome!

There are great benefits to being a day camp volunteer. • Experience the satisfaction of helping girls learn and have fun outdoors.

• Spend your summer making lifelong friends and memories.

• Guarantee placement in the day camp of your choice.

• Receive one free day camp session (up to a $70 value) for one girl relative who is a registered Girl Scout.

Most camps provide separate programs for preschoolers and boys of elementary age (K-5) for a minimal cost.

How to become a Day Camp volunteer. Review "What Does It Mean to be a Day Camp Volunteer?" and complete a Day Camp Volunteer Request Form at gsoh.org/daycamp. Please try to sign up by Friday, March 15, 2019. This lets us know how many girls we can accommodate when planning for each camp. If you miss the early deadline, we will certainly still accept your assistance as needed.

Not a registered member? Visit gsoh.org and click Volunteer Today! • Select Camp/Seasonal volunteers and enter some basic information. • Check Unsure* if you are only interested in volunteering for day camp, and complete your adult membership registration. *By selecting Unsure (found on the first page of your search) you are moving forward to register as a day camp volunteer. • Check your email for a message from Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland inviting you to join the MyGSOH Community, a link to complete your background check, and next steps to becoming a volunteer.

Already a registered member?

• Volunteers must have an updated successful background check completed within the past three years. All day camp volunteers are required to have successfully completed two online trainings, GS101 and Safety Essentials. Volunteers will also attend training that is specific to their camp. Day camp directors will notify volunteers of the training dates and times.
