My Promise, My Faith HERE’S HOW
Did you know the Girl Scouts My Promise, My Faith awards invite grade K-12 girls to experience a faith journey through exploration of the Girl Scout Law and teachings from their faith?
The requirements can be found in the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting for each level or at girlscouts.org.
▶ Choose a line from the Girl Scout Law. ▶ Find a story, song, or poem from your faith with the same ideas. ▶ Talk with your family or friends about what that line of the Law and the story, song, or poem have in common. After this, you’ll have completed the first step! There is a total of 5 steps to earn the award.
Strengthen your connection between your faith and Girl Scouts. You can earn this national award each year. There are Year 1 and Year 2 options for all levels—Cadettes have an additional Year 3 pin.
Religious Recognitions Programs of Religious Activities with Youth (P.R.A.Y.) awards are available for Girl Scouts in grades K-12. They can be completed within the troop or by girls individually with their families. Created by national religious organizations to encourage the spiritual growth of youth members, religious recognition programs reinforce many of the values integral to Girl Scouting and help girls grow stronger in and learn more about their chosen faith. Learn more at bit.ly/GSReligiousRecognitions
2019 Catholic Committee on Scouting Events Visit https://columbuscatholic.org/catholic-scouting to learn more about these opportunities! Please note that the following activities, though developed by the committee from a Catholic perspective, are nondenominational and open to everyone in the grades listed.

Highest Awards
GIRL SCOUT SENIOR & AMBASSADORS (GRADES 9-12)
Girls Changing the World
Bronze. Silver. Gold. These represent the highest honors a Girl Scout can earn. All three awards give you the chance to do big things while working on an issue that has captured your interest in a big way. As a Girl Scout, you are in an exceptional position to take action and make the world a better place. By earning the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, you will be joining the ranks of generations of young women who have made a difference both locally and globally. Service vs. Action: What’s the Difference? Girl Scouts often do community service and take action within their projects. Both kinds of projects help communities in different ways. What’s the difference? Direct and immediate service changes something right now. Longer-lasting action gets at the root cause of issues. Community service makes the world better for some people right now. For example, collecting cans of food for the local food pantry feeds people right now. Gathering toys for a homeless-family shelter makes kids happy right now. Providing clothing and toiletries to people who have suffered a disaster helps them get through a traumatic event right now. These acts of kindness are important ways to help some people right now. Take Action projects, such as the ones you complete for the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, come up with sustainable, longer-lasting solutions. These projects strive to make the world a better place for more people for a much longer time. Sometimes, service and action just naturally blend together into one sustainable effort. As a Girl Scout, you use both service and action to live out the Girl Scout Law and “make the world a better place!”

This select group of girls works as an advisory group that commits to a year-long leadership role and partners with staff and Board members on projects ranging from program development to research and marketing. By facilitating youth-adult partnership, these leadership opportunities allow GSDAC members to influence decision-making processes in our council. As a member of the GSDAC, you are encouraged to share your creative ideas, demonstrate your passion for Girl Scouts, and ensure that our Girl Scout programs are what today’s girls want and need. Is GSDAC right for you? • Are you ready to take your leadership to the Council level? • Do you want to have an active role in Girl Scouting and what it looks like for other girls? • Do have skills to share? • Are you passionate about Girl Scouts? • Do you want to meet other older girls from our council? • Are you a registered member in 9th-12th grade? With this act of philanthropy in mind, GSOH created the Pearl Society to recognize individuals who contribute $1,000 or more in a calendar year. These gifts support girls in Girl Scouts, and help provide them the tools they need to thrive. When you join the society, you get:
