Venture deep into the belly of an ancient volcano to explore the highlights of this volcanic caldera. At 6,300 feet, walk atop a mountain of pumice and obsidian (black volcanic glass) and take in the shores of the sparkling Paulina Lake, through an old growth hemlock forest and past a towering lava flow. Experienced and knowledgeable guides bring this area alive! Learn about the geology and natural history of the area. This hike is for girls and adults of many different abilities.

This adventure-filled three-date series will help you build the skills and confidence you need to enjoy rock climbing and mountaineering! Learn about the equipment necessary to rock climb properly, the knots and rope techniques used to set anchors and control ascent/descent, and general mountain knowledge (reading weather,


rock types, environmental hazards, etc.). Transportation will be provided from the Portland Service Center. The first date will be at Camp Arrowhead, where we will spend the entire day on the climbing wall learning basic climbing techniques and rope skills. The second day will be on a real rock face outside of Stevenson, Washington. The third date will be at Smith Rock State Park near Terrebonne, Oregon. You must attend one of the first two dates to attend the Smith Rock trip. All food, equipment, and materials will be provided and are included in the registration cost.

TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES FOR CADETTES, SENIORS & AMBASSADORS Our Chalet Patrol – June 2016 Take the trip of a lifetime to the first and oldest WAGGG’s World Centre in Switzerland! Hike some of the most popular trails in the Adelboden valley, rock climb, experience unique cultures and towns, and make new friends. Check out the breathtaking Swiss Alps while you participate in Our Chalet’s Swiss Challenge with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world. Rock to Pocket Tour & Treasure Hunt

Wells Fargo History Museum

1300 SW 5th Avenue, Portland

The Wells Fargo History Museum in Portland shares the history of Wells Fargo in Oregon. You will see an 1854 Concord Coach and find out how Wells Fargo connected Oregon’s communities through the CalOregon Stage Line and steamboats on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. The museum is open to all grade levels and offers educational programs for free.
