This guide is organized by pathway with some bonus sections as well. Check out each of the sections highlighted in this guide for more information about the pathways and all of your different options as a Girl Scout. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience offers six lexible program pathways to accommodate your interests and schedule. Whether you participate in one or all of the pathways, you will definitely have a great time discovering, exploring, learning and laughing! A lot of people think that you have to be in a troop to be a Girl Scout, but these days you can participate through any or all of the pathways. You can be a Girl Scout on your OWN terms! Since 2012 is Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary, you will notice special 100th anniversary activities for girls in this edition. We hope you will take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to involve your girls in at least some of these opportunities. As always, we value your input and ideas about the programs offered. Many new programs sprout from seeds planted by our members. If you have an idea for a program or know of an individual or organization that might want to partner with Girl Scouts, please contact Sarah Johnson, Director of Programs, at sjohnson@girlscouts osw.org.

Travel restrictions and requirements vary by trip; look on the council website and talk to your local program staff for more information. Chaperones and travel volunteer team members are always needed and welcome! If you are interested in helping with Girl Scout travel, contact your local program staff. Cancelation for Trips and Patrols If a participant cancels and drops from a council sponsored patrol or trip, any deposits, fees or financial obligation made on their behalf is non-refundable. The closer to the travel date a cancellation is made; the fewer funds are likely to be

available for refund. The council will work with the girl and her family to determine what, if any, refund is due.

Council-wide Events and Series Events are stand alone program offerings; examples include a career event for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors or a journey workshop for Girl Scout Brownies. The primary difference between events and all other pathways is that different girls participate in each event, as opposed to one group of girls coming together regularly. Series offerings are a sequence of linked, cumulative program sessions that relate to a specific theme or purpose with the same group of girls participating in all sessions for a short duration. Each girl participates in the entire series as a complete program package.
