A letter from our Camp Director Dear Camp Family, Camp Wasiu II is a beautiful and magical place where girls have the opportunity to learn new skills, grow as an individual, make new friends, and create lifelong memories. Adventure, wonder, and imagination thrive here. All year long, we’re surrounded by technology that consumes our time- whether it’s for entertainment, school, or work. Come unplug, unwind, and explore the great outdoors with us. No outlet, no problem! Camp is powered by positive energy, smiles, laughter, and little camp magic. Come gather around the campfire, sing songs, tells stories, and roast marshmallows. Sleep under the stars, hike through trees and wildflowers, or paddle across the depths of Packer Lake. Our camp program is girl-led; they’ll get to help plan their camp program and make decisions about what they want to do during their time at Camp Wasiu II. Our girl-only, supportive, and positive environment fosters self-confidence and independence because it gives girls the opportunity to explore who they are and try new things in a judgment-free zone.

We’re Accredited! Camp Wasiu II is proudly accredited by the American Camp Association. This means that our camp complies with 300 industry-established standards in health, safety, program, and camp administration. For more information about what camp accreditation means to you and your camper, visit campparents.org/funsafety.

Thank you, Girl Scout Sponsors:

The 2018 summer camp guide is full of amazing outdoor programs and adventures for girls, troops, and families. There are programs for the artsy, for the imaginative, the nature lovers, and the outdoorsy—something for everyone! Sit down with your girl, grab a pen, and find what inspires you. Check out our week-long residential camp sessions, weekend programs, one-day programs, and leadership opportunities. This summer marks Camp Wasiu II’s 30th anniversary— so come and celebrate 30 years of camp, friends, and memories. I’m looking forward to seeing what this summer has in store and sharing our camp magic with you all! Yours in Camp,

Kelly “Jester” Carman

CAMP WASIU II 30th Anniversary Celebration Camp Wasiu II opened its doors to campers for the first time in the summer of 1988. Since then camp has served and made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of girls across our council and beyond. From learning outdoor living skills, to going on outdoor adventures and singing traditional Girl Scout camp songs around the fire—the impact that Camp Wasiu has had in the lives of girls and young women is much more widespread than imaginable. Camp has had many wildly successful summers as well as some challenging ones with obstacles such as having a ton of snow in early June and intensive winter damages. The most important thing is regardless of the challenges—we have persevered and have kept the camp magic alive for 30 years all with the mission of building girls with courage, confidence and character.

Weekend 4: August 24 – 26 Fee: $100/per adult Registration Deadline: August 9 Calling all Camp Wasiu alumni - former campers, staff, and volunteers. You’re invited to a special weekend celebration!
