REQUIREMENTS

$20 RLC Activity Fee (per semester) Participation in RLC 1000 in the Fall & Spring Semesters

Open to all students, this community helps students develop their leadership skills through workshops, reections, panel discussions, and other activities to become positive change agents in their campus and local community. Participants have the opportunity to steer the direction of the community each year by determining group service events and planning campus-wide service events together.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS No requirements to join, just your passion & positivity! Requirements during the year include a bi-weekly seminar and the creation of a leadership portfolio by the end of the year. Students involved in the Southern Leaders program should be prepared to meet the requirements of both programs should they join the RLC (some will overlap, but others will not).

ABOUT THEME COMMUNITIES Our Theme Communities (TCs) are composed of students who share similar interests and/or identities. Students in our TCs are provided with opportunities to learn more about their communities theme through specialty events, socials, and more. Click to learn more about the Residential Learning Communities Program.

COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE Students in this community are in the driver's seat of their residential experience. In the fall, students complete a Student Leadership Practices Inventory and our staff provide leadership skills building workshops, provide information about getting involved in local service, and they organize small service and/or teambuilding events for the group to get to know each other. However, in the spring the community members take the lead. They help to determine development topics, organize service programs for residential students, and by the end of the year each student will have a completed Leadership Portfolio. Some past RLC 1000 activities have included: ★
