ADVENTURE 2020-2021
Adventure Planning Guide
WELCOME, GIRL SCOUTS! As we begin a new Girl Scout year, we recognize that so much has changed in your girl’s world, including some things at Girl Scouts. What remains consistent is that your girl is surrounded by a Girl Scout community that lifts her up, cheers her on, encourages her to explore her passions, and guides her through difficulties and disruptions. In this booklet, and on our website, you’ll find some new and some familiar Girl Scout experiences this year. Whether part of a troop, group or pursuing her own ambitions as a Juliette, she will find unique opportunities to do Girl Scouts her way. Through this time of disruption, we hope you’ll find that the best parts of Girl Scouts remain strong. Friends. Connection. Activities to look forward to. Getting outdoors. Learning something new. Doing good in the community. Girl Scouts equips girls to lead, break barriers, and create positive change. Our Girl Scouts could not accomplish this without you, our Girl Scout families. Thank you! With your support, girls discover how awesome it is to be yourself, be a leader, and make the world a better place. I look forward to seeing all the amazing things girls do this year!

BADGES, PATCHES, JOURNEYS, AWARDS & MORE!
PRODUCT SALES - KEY TO MORE ADVENTURES
Earning badges and collecting patches are iconic parts of the Girl Scout experience. Girl Scouts offers so many more ways girls can explore the world around us, impact her community, and earn recognition for her efforts! She may choose to do Journeys and Take Action projects, pursue one or more Highest Awards, or earn special pins and awards with her troop and family along the way.
Girls who participate in the Fall Product and Cookie Programs learn valuable skills like money management, goal setting, business ethics, decision making and people skills. They also learn to work as a team to accomplish common goals and solve problems, while building their own confidence. These are long-term benefits that many business owners credit as the start of their success. In the short-term, girls love earning the fun mascotthemed rewards, and seeing their earnings add up! Parents and caregivers love that participating in product sales also helps girls earn Digital Dough – which can be used to attend programs, register for summer camp, and/or buy uniforms or camp supplies at the Girl Scout Shop. So help her set her goals and make a plan to achieve them – she’ll gain those lifelong skills and reap those immediate rewards!
Find workshops for badges, patches, Journeys and Highest Awards at gswo.org/events.
SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR OLDER GIRLS Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors have a number of exclusive opportunities. From CSA Conferences and Journey series to special-interest clubs and Highest Awards, to travel and Girl Scout Destinations (the ultimate adventure!), girls in grades 7-12 can create their own Girl Scout experience!
