Girl Scout Camp

Hey, Hey, Girl Scouts! We are so excited to see you again this summer at camp! Since we saw you last year, we have been counting down the days until we can stuff our faces with Brown Bears and sing camp songs under the stars, and we bet you have too! Nothing compares to the unforgettable memories made at camp each summer. Whether you attend day camp, troop adventure camp, or resident camp, you’re sure to head home with a piece of what we like to call “Camp Magic.” Camp magic can look like a friendship bracelet grounding you as you face the changes a new school year can bring, a camp song stuck in your head on the walk to the bus, or even some stubborn tie dye under your fingernails to remind you of the moments you spent outside with your best friends. We still cherish the memories (and pictures!) of our summers attending GSWO camps when we were your age. Although some things may have changed since then, camp magic still remains. Camp magic is something silly and beautiful that looks different for everyone. We can’t wait for you to join our camp family and take some camp magic home with you! Your Camp Directors, Jigsaw & Ember

Meet our Camp Directors! Then and Now

Marie “Jigsaw” Cordes | Camp Director Marie attended resident camp at GSWO camps for several years before working on camp staff at Camp Libbey and Whip Poor Will. She oversees Resident and Day Camp at Camps Libbey, Whip Poor Will, and Butterworth.

We’re proud that all of our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and meet or exceed ACA standards.

Our talented and experienced camp staff are carefully screened and intensely trained to keep you safe and to create a positive, harmonious, and supportive camp environment. Many camp staff are aspiring teachers, outdoor educators, and former campers. They come from all over Ohio, the United States, and the world to work with you.

All girls are welcome at camp! Girl Scouts embraces girls of all abilities, backgrounds, and heritage, with a specific and positive philosophy of inclusion that benefits everyone. Each girl – without regard to socioeconomic status, race, physical or cognitive ability, ethnicity, primary language, or religion – is an equal and valued member.

Make memories at GSWO camps and properties Discovering the wonders of nature, challenging yourself to reach new heights, and friendships for a lifetime— these are the reasons girls remember their time at camp for years. Troops can extend those memories by making use of our six camp properties and our four Service Centers for Girl Scout activities all year-round.

After about an hour of hearing all the exciting details, I asked her to rate her first day of camp between 1-10: “Can’t Mommy, it is 1-100 and today was 100.”

Learn more about our camps at: camp.gswo.org/properties

I picked both girls up and asked them to rate today from 1-10: “A bagillion one thousand!”

Cookie rewards = time at camp Sell 1,500 packages of cookies and select camp credit in your rewards to receive a free week at camp – up to $350 value! (Deposit is required based on the camp selected.) Sell 750+ packages of cookies and you can attend one of two Camp Cookie celebration days, with a full day of classic camp activities and traditions, lunch, a sneak peek at next year’s cookie rewards, and some sweet swag to take home.
