EARN while you LEARN
Apprenticeship
An apprenticeship combines your education with a full-time job and specialized hands-on training. If you’re looking to enter one of the many growing industries in the area, an apprenticeship is a great way to get started.
Apprenticeship programs are sponsored by employers, employer groups, and trade associations that provide on-the-job training while you simultaneously complete classroom instruction. This allows you to immediately apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to a real-world setting.
Guilford Apprenticeship Partners (GAP)
Apprenticeships are open to current high school juniors and seniors. The GAP program lets students earn while they learn and finish their education debt-free.
Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME)
Are you interested in earning while you learn and quickly advancing your career in a STEM-related field? Do you value hands-on training? GTCC’s FAME program makes it happen by providing world-class workforce development to select students who want to earn an associate degree while getting paid, on-thejob experience.
Students spend two days per week in class and three days per week working at their sponsoring company, which includes manufacturers like Toyota Battery Manufacturing NC, Ziehl-Abegg, ABCO Automation, MasterBrand Inc., and more.
> More than 85% of students get full-time jobs upon graduation and often earn over 50% more than the local per capita income.
