Course #1 - Introduction to Structures (IS)
Cost is $296.00
This course is a prerequisite to Manufacturing Core Skills and provides the inexperienced student with an introduction into the basics of sheet metal and composite structures, in order to assemble and fabricate typical component parts. It involves a brief overview of materials used in aviation and manufacturing to include an insight into safety, tooling, reading engineering drawings, structural fasteners and manufacturing techniques. The final week of the aviation and manufacturing experience introduces ‘Career Readiness Certificate’ and ‘Human Resource Development’ training, important components to future employment opportunities. The first three (3) weeks of this course is a face-to-face/hands-on course that runs for three weeks from 8:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Students will formally register on the first day of class. IS Course ...................$188 CRC Exam ................... $30 HRD Course ................. $78 Total Cost ..... $296
An Introduction to Structures test is administered on the last day of course instruction. Registrations for Manufacturing Core Skills will be completed prior to the IS Test. The last week will include completing Career Readiness Certification and Human Resources Development (HRD) course, both mandatory.
This course is a pre-requisite and must be completed prior Students will be required to pass the CRC Exam. If students previously achieved CRC they will need to provide the appropriate documentation showing completion of the CRC credential. to being allowed into the MCS or SA course. The Human Resources Development (HRD) course provides career exploration and resume prep. Students may be eligible for a fee waiver. This course lasts for 4 weeks. Course #2 - Manufacturing Core Skills (MCS)
Cost is $588.00
This course is a prerequisite to Structures Assembly and is designed to further introduce students to the aerospace manufacturing industry. It will give an understanding of the products produced, as well as the tools, materials, and procedures needed to be successful as an employee of an aerospace manufacturing organization. The first four (4) weeks are exclusively online course and can be completed anywhere. There is a MCS Lab, which is two days, from 8:00am – 3:30pm, and is a mandatory face-to-face component of the course. This course lasts for 4 weeks.
MCS Test is administered at the end of the course, with an option of taking a retest. Students must pass the MCS Test at 80% or higher in order to attend the next class, Structures Assembly. Registrations for Structures Assembly will be completed prior to the MCS Test.
Course #3 - Structures Assembly (SA)
Cost is $588.00 The Structures Assembly (SA) course provides the student with both online and practical elements specializing in assembling and dismantling structural component parts commonly used in both the aviation and manufacturing industries. The SA course will enhance previous knowledge and introduce many structural metallic fabrication techniques produced from local technical data. Supported with the knowledge gained from previous courses; “Introduction to Structures” and “Manufacturing Core skills”, the successful graduate will be more readily prepared to face the many challenges presented in the metallic structural world in both industries. The first 8-weeks consists of a daily face-to-face/hands-on course that runs from 8:00am – 3:30pm, Monday thru Friday.
This course lasts for 9 weeks.
A Structures Assembly Test is administered at the end of the course, with option to retest. Students must pass the SA test at 80% or higher. In addition, a final plate test must be passed at 70% to graduate. The last week includes the following an Interviewing & Employability Skills course that runs for three days, usually every other day, from 8:30am – 1:00pm. The last day of the course consists of a Mock Interview which lasts for one hour.
