HUMAN SERVICES EXPLORATION: DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES (DSS) NCFAST INCOME MAINTENANCE CASE WORKER, PARTS ONE AND TWO
This Level I/II course describes the principles, limitations, and advantages of nondestructive testing as applied to industrial components. Emphasis placed on liquid penetrant testing techniques including the use of color fluorescent, solvent removable and water washable penetrant techniques.
This course outlines the principles, limitations, and advantages of nondestructive examination (NDE) as applied to industrial components. Emphasis is placed on electromagnetic testing techniques, including using different electromagnetic equipment. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of NDE electromagnetic techniques and their applications.
ULTRASOUND — LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2
This course introduces the basic principles, limitations, and advantages of ultrasonic nondestructive testing as applied to industrial components, and it covers the fundamental requirements for ultrasonic testing (UT) practitioners as established by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). Topics include sound wave modes, sound theory, and display modes, all discussed and demonstrated through lab applications. Upon completion, students should have a basic understanding of ultrasonics, proper equipment, and correct setup of instruments for straight-beam examinations.
COMPOSITE VACUUM INFUSION
Learn to produce advanced composite parts utilizing the vacuum infusion process (VIP). Upon completion of the course, students will also be able to describe the different types and properties of standard vacuum infusion components, molds, and processes.

Take a deep dive into wedding planning with instruction in timelines, etiquette, budgeting, rehearsals, and elegance.
EVENT PLANNING 101
This two-evening course covers what to ask before planning an event, and how to organize an experience for guests involving the five senses.
CAKE DECORATING FOR BEGINNERS
Learn to ice cakes evenly, make decorative borders, ice flowers, and use simple writing techniques for cakes that look professionally finished.
INTERMEDIATE CAKE DECORATING
Students will explore more challenging techniques for working with buttercream, fondant, and proper stacking of a multi-tiered cake.
COOKIE DECORATING
Learn to use royal icing to pipe, flood, and decorate rolled cookies, as well as ways to stencil cookies.
FLORAL DESIGN
Learn the basics of floral design, including color theory, tools of the trade, flower identification, and creating basic arrangements.
CREATE A BLOOMING GARDEN
This course is designed to help you plan and create a blooming garden space. You will learn how to measure and prepare a site assessment, and how to combine plants with respect to size, color, bloom time, texture, and availability. By the end of the six-session course, students will be able to create a plan for year-round blooms.
SMALL ENGINE REPAIR
Learn about the basic operation and repair of two- and four-stroke internal combustion engines, including the major components of small engines and how they work in the overall operation of the engine. This class will cover the four stages of small engine maintenance: troubleshooting, inspections, repair, and preventative maintenance. You will receive basic classroom instruction and hands-on lab experience.

MOTORCYCLE SAFETY
Whether you have never ridden a motorcycle or just need a refresher, GTCC’s Basic Rider Course is a great way to get started. According to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, more than 8 million motorcyclists nationwide have graduated from a Basic Rider Course since 1974.
BASKET MAKING
This course teaches basic to advanced basketry techniques and terms, including dyeing and weaving with reed. Beginners start with a reed basket and move on from there, completing up to three baskets in one session.
DESIGN YOUR ROOM
This class is for anyone who wants to redesign a room. Students will be able to create a decorating plan for a single residential space. Students will plan the space, creating a simple floor plan that coordinates colors, fabrics, flooring, paint, lighting, and accessories.
INTRODUCTION TO TRAVEL AGENCY
This course will enable students to become certified travel agents and independent business owners under Archer-Evolution Travels. Learn about registering and working with many different travel suppliers throughout the industry, nationally and internationally. Explore the process of booking land, sea, and air travel for clients in addition to booking package deals for an array of travel needs, whether for business or pleasure. You will also learn marketing strategies for building a team within the travel industry.
RETIREMENT PLANNING
This comprehensive course will help students understand how various aspects of personal finance can work together to create an integrated retirement plan.
TOP 10 THINGS TO KNOW AS A LIFE COACH
Coaches must have the necessary life experiences and communication skills to be present for their clients, listen to them, and provide a safe place to express ideas. This 20-hour course is the first step in pursuing a career as a life coach, examining the top 10 things to know as a life coach while also exploring what life coaching is.
LIFE COACH CERTIFICATION
This 40-hour course is a continuation of Top 10 Things to Know as a Life Coach. Students will learn core concepts and methods of life coaching, including: creating the right environment, conversation styles, active listening, accountability, questioning, planning, designing actions, and goal setting. Students will gain mastery in coaching and demonstrate core competencies as described by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
NOTARY PUBLIC
If you are at least 18 years old, have never been convicted of a felony, have a high school diploma or GED, and can satisfactorily complete this workshop, you can apply for your Notary Public Commission.
REAL ESTATE POST-LICENSING 302: CONTRACTS & CLOSING
FURNITURE UPHOLSTERY*
This course is one of the three, 30-hour courses in the North Carolina mandatory post-licensing (PL) education program. The primary objective of the courses is to provide instruction at a level beyond that provided in pre-licensing courses on topics deemed to be of special importance in the active practice of real estate brokerage.
SKILLED TRADES
WELDER
This 192-hour, two-course program introduces welding processes and gas metal arc welding (GMAW), specifically metal inert gas (MIG) welding techniques. During the second course, students can earn the American Welding Society (AWS) Level I (Entry-Level Welder) certification.
Learn the basic skills and fundamentals of upholstered furniture construction, including seat construction and inside/outside upholstering in a manufacturing setting. Learn more at gtcc.edu/furniture-upholstery.
FURNITURE REUPHOLSTERY*
This course is designed to teach students the basics of how to reupholster chairs and other small pieces of furniture. Learn how to sew cushions, skirts, and all covers for reupholstery; how to retie and tie springs; how to brace frame; and how to secure the webbing. Also included will be fabric layout and cutting.

This three-part, 660-hour program includes classroom and clinical training to prepare participants for the national Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. After successfully completing the third and final module, students will also receive a certification in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) American Version.
