ESL Instructor, Adult Education Recognition: Received IRB approval from Elon University to be a co-Principal Investigator in a study called, “Medicinal and Food Plant Use of Montagnard Communities in Greensboro, North Carolina”. The study will take place in 2016 and will focus on food cultivated in Greensboro gardens. My co-Principal Investigator for the project is Catherine Bush, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biology at Elon University. Exhibition: Creative Aging Network-NC and I received a grant from Arts Greensboro to deliver paper making and book writing classes for Montagnard women and senior citizen groups during the Spring of 2015. The “Memory Book” participants made paper from mulberry and fig trees and wrote stories about their farming experiences growing up. The books were displayed at The People’s Perk, a local coffee shop, in June 2015.
