Credits Transfer to Other Colleges in the UNC System GTCC college transfer students can apply credits earned at GTCC toward their bachelor’s degree at any of the 16 institutions in the UNC System. GTCC graduates will enter with junior status at the prospective UNC college of their choice.
Flexibility Attend GTCC on your time and on your terms. Already working a full-time job or raising a family? No problem. GTCC offers flexible schedules with classes offered during the day, in the evening, on the weekend, and online. Take one class at a time or take several. It’s up to you.

CO-ADMISSION PROGRAMS GTCC partners with North Carolina A&T State University (NC A&T) and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) to offer Co-Admission Programs that provide you a seamless path from GTCC to the partner college. Four-year degrees available through co-admission are:
These are not simply college transfer programs. Co-Admission students are enrolled at both colleges and have many of the same benefits and privileges as students at the partner college. You complete your first two years at GTCC, earning your associate degree while paying the lower community college tuition rate. In your third and fourth year, you take classes at NC A&T or UNCG to earn your B.A. or B.S. degree from that college.

E-LEARNING @ GTCC Obtain your degree from the convenience of your own home, on your time and on your schedule through our online eLearning programs. More than 10 associate degree programs are offered completely online. There are many diploma and certificates available online as well. And each semester, GTCC adds more courses and programs to our online offerings, giving you more ways to learn – on your schedule.
Any enrolled GTCC student may take online classes to help complete their degree requirements.

CAREER & COLLEGE PROMISE INITIATIVE Don’t wait until you’re out of high school to start earning a two- or four-year degree, diploma, or nationally recognized job credential. GTCC’s Career & College Promise program offers qualified high school students pathways to prepare for a career or college transfer after high school by getting a tuition-free college education.
Students can earn: • College credit transferrable to all UNC System Institutions and many of North Carolina’s independent colleges and universities • A credential, certificate or diploma in a technical career program • A high school diploma and two years of college credit in four to five years through innovative cooperative high school programs (limited availability)

CONTINUING EDUCATION GTCC is the Triad’s primary resource for job training, career preparation, professional development, or to simply satisfy the need to learn something new! GTCC non-credit courses range from workforce training topics such as computer technology, project management and medical support to personal enrichment topics such as cooking, music, and arts and crafts.

ADULT EDUCATION If you did not finish high school, GTCC offers classes in Adult Basic Education (ABE) that can get you on your way to a high school diploma and into one of our degree programs. In addition, the ABE program serves students with learning disabilities as well as English language learners. Our POWER Pathways program offers adult students with intellectual and developmental disabilities the skills they need to find meaningful career or volunteer opportunities and develop greater self-sufficiency.
To find out what direction you should go, we encourage you to speak to a counselor on any campus. The ABE programs are located on the High Point and Greensboro campuses with many off-site class locations throughout Guilford County.
All Adult Education and English As A Second Language classes are offered free of charge.
