Project Management GENERAL INFORMATION, PAGE 1 • LOCATION KEY, PAGE 2 • MAPS, PAGE 30
PROJECT MANAGEMENT The Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) has grown rapidly to become a major project management qualification in North America and Internationally. Rapid growth has seen the number of PMP®s jump from the start of the qualification in the 1980s to approximately 10,000 in January 2000 and to a current total of over 650,000 active PMP®s in over 190 countries as of March 2015. Extensive research has shown that slightly less than one-third of all projects are deemed “successful”. Not only does this represent a 67%+ failure rate, but it also indicates that a massive amount of time and money is wasted on “lost” causes. Whether you are new to project management, want to learn project management tools which will help you be more proficient in your job, need to build your skills and knowledge as a project manager, or are a seasoned PM who would like to become a PMP®, GTCC has an offering to meet your goals.
The Project Leadership Series SM is presented in collaboration with Tanden, a premier project management consulting and education firm headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tanden is a Global Registered Education Provider (REP) of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Project Management Essentials and PMP Certification Prep This course will benefit all project managers, team leads, team members, functional managers, and other key project stakeholders in any industry. It is designed to assist in passing the PMI PMP® exam. Project Management Essentials and PMP® Exam Prep is a five-day, instructor-led, training program that provides a solid foundation in the concepts, tools and techniques of formal project management while preparing you for Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification.
Introductory in nature, this course is extremely comprehensive, covering the core competencies associated with effective and efficient project management practice. You not only acquire technique-based proficiencies, but also explore and practice essential people skills and teamwork using a case study. The concepts and methods learned are immediately usable in the workplace, leading to a greater retention of newly acquired skills, measurable project improvements, and the achievement of desired project results. Infused throughout the program, you will learn and practice key PMP® exam prep concepts in each of the process and knowledge areas. Potential instructors: Chris Wright, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with over 22 years of experience leading cross-functional project and program teams. He is the Founder and President of Tanden LLC and is in the business of “leading through teaching and inspiring others.” Chris is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP®), has a Master’s degree in Project Management (MPM) from Western Carolina University, and served as the Vice President of Education for the North Carolina Chapter of PMI.
