The faculty and staff help maintain a Food Garden that supplies fresh vegetables for the GTCC Food Pantry. This is just one of many ways that our employees are committed to helping students.

The students in this club have participated in numerous competitions, such as this one in Charlotte, N.C., and has won several awards for the delegations they have represented. GTCC has been in the education business since 1958, so we know what it takes to make students successful. Our education is parallel to any that you would receive at any four-year institution; it may even be a little better. With small class sizes, individual attention, and boundless opportunities, GTCC provides quality education that works. You will leave GTCC with hands-on training, new skills, and the ability to land the job of your dreams! Since 2000, GTCC students have been competing, and winning, in SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is the “Olympics” of community college. It is a competition where students compete on both a regional, and then national level, against other students in their chosen academic field. GTCC has produced many “Olympians” over the years who have brought home Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the national level. SkillsUSA winners from GTCC are pictured to the left, above, and below.

Many other colleges, including private colleges and universities accept credit from GTCC. It is recommended that you contact the college or university prior to enrolling to ensure a smooth transition. Students should be mindful of application deadlines to the various universities. GPA requirements for each university varies and admission is very competitive. Only courses that are successfully completed with a grade of "C" or better will receive transfer credit.

#7 - Transfer credits to the UNC System

GTCC serves as an entry point into the UNC System. College transfer students can use credits earned at GTCC and apply them towards their bachelor’s degree at any of the 16 institutions in the UNC System. Students who graduate from GTCC will enter with junior status at the prospective UNC college of their choice. At GTCC the Sky is the Limit! The GTCC Flight Team is a club in the Aviation Program that competes against nationally ranked universities. The team is pictured here in Franklin, Virginia. Over the years, the flight team has won several competition and continues to show how well versed our students are in the aviation field. Our faculty truly are first class. Our Aviation graduates find jobs as pilots, aviation mechanics, and in aviation management. The next time you are flying, it may be a GTCC alum that is controlling the plane.
