With more than 11,665 students surveyed, find out who they have determined as Singapore’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers this year as well as the most recent employment trends in the market!
How Were These Rankings Compiled?
Learn more about the methodology behind Singapore’s most comprehensive and extensive survey of student opinions on graduate job applications, career expectations and today’s most popular employers.
For over a decade, the Singapore's 100 team has surveyed fresh graduates and students at institutions of higher learning to find out which companies, firms and organisations piqued their interest as they entered the working world.
Our Singapore Graduate Barometer survey is promoted on the official Singapore's 100 website, university career centres, social media and through word-ofmouth among students. Each year, students from all universities across the nation complete the survey under anonymity, and it remains the key to honest insights regarding their career goals and job-seeking habits.
Students first receive the survey, either via hyperlink or a physical copy at career centres. Unlike typical employer brand surveys, however, they are first asked about the sectors they are interested in. Afterwards, the students are requested to disclose which particular organisations or firms they prefer.
Tips for the guide
•
• Keen on a specific sector? Head to page 19 for more information.
• Curious on what employers look for in potential hires? Turn to page 59 and find out what makes these highflying graduates stand out!
• Look up key information and job opportunities on Singapore’s Leading Graduate Employers from page 67 onwards
With its quick completion rate (about 15 minutes), the survey boasts high numbers of responses and accuracy rates. It offers valuable and meaningful insights into student preferences, ethics and values when it comes to jobhunting.
This system reflects the process most students undergo when making career choices regarding who they would like to work with. The survey not only compiles a list of Singapore's top 100 employers, it also provides a glimpse on how these companies rank among themselves within their own sectors. Field research took place from June 2023 to April 2024.
In addition, the survey also provides insights on the differences between first-year students and those in their penultimate or final years regarding their job preferences. Dissimilarities between student learning and job interest can also be picked out. For example, more students in engineering disciplines are looking to join the media and advertising sector this year as compared to in 2023.
However, gathering such a large amount of data can be daunting, so why go through all this every year? For us, we hope that employers will utilise these results as a foundation to not only better understand student mindsets, but to improve on how they can engage with them as they enter the workforce.
As for the students reading this, we hope these results can help you better weigh your options between your choice of employers. We also hope that you will become more self-aware as
you begin your journey towards the working world, as well as the challenges that await you with prospective employers.

Accounting and Financial Management
Graduate accountants have the opportunity to work with a range of employers, but also work on a variety of tasks; from tax issues to day-to-day accounting work.
Responsible for ensuring financial soundness, accountants are an essential part of businesses regardless of industry. By ensuring their compliance with relevant regulations and statutes, they play a critical role in their strategic development via the assessment of the company’s finances.
The range of jobs here is diverse. This includes management accounting, which helps companies set their annual budgets, and specialisations such as tax accounting and forensic accounting. In addition, depending on the job role and employer, rather than being desk-bound, accountants may find themselves working on-site with clients for extended periods of time.
Presently, the accounting profession is dynamic and everchanging. Notably, more companies are incorporating AI systems like cloud computing and data analytics to streamline financial processes. With this, the more tedious aspects of the role can now make way for more critical tasks such as client management and risk compliance.
Opportunities for graduates
Graduate accountants can find work with the Big Four accounting firms, boutique consulting firms and the public sector. Even without a relevant degree, interested candidates still join this sector by pursuing the relevant accounting certifications.
Most complete their professional qualifications while working as junior accountants or in training programmes. They will also have the chance to rotate between job roles, increasing their exposure to all the industry has to offer.
Starting out in a big organisation can be intense, especially if juggling between work and studies. On the other hand, opportunities can be found in both the private and public sectors that integrate graduates into finance or accounts departments.
Aspiring graduates should have strong skills in analytics, teamwork, communication, and organisation. In addition, they should be savvy with the latest in financial technology, jargon and the sector landscape as well.

Aviation, Transport and Supply Chain
Be part of an industry that never stops moving and rise up to meet new challenges as the sector continues to become more efficient and agile in its operations.
Supply chains refer to the fast, safe, and effective handling of goods, materials, and services. Meanwhile, transport planning and management oversee the planning and facilitation of moving people and cargo through land, air and sea.
Organisations involved in supply chains include logistics and distribution enterprises, transport companies and courier services. For transport planning, the main employers are usually local authorities, specialist consultancies, civil engineering firms, and transport providers.
The logistics sector — including air, land, and sea transportation — has benefitted from the Industry Revolution 4.0, boosting efficiency and innovation through tools like collaborative robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). New delivery capabilities, such as autonomous vehicles, have also changed supply chain designs, upping their capabilities.
However, the industry is also currently facing setbacks amid geopolitical tensions and conflict, impacting critical shipping lanes like those in the Red Sea. At present, such disruptions will likely continue to affect the sector at large for the foreseeable future.
Opportunities for graduates
From sourcing and operations management to support roles in finance and marketing, there are many positions and sub-sectors to choose from, regardless of qualification relevance. In addition, the advancement and widespread adoption of technology has also resulted in the creation of new roles in data management and software development as well.
Graduates are induced into companies via training programmes that provide a general overview of the sector before later choosing an area to specialise in. Generally, candidates should have logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaborative skills, though stress management, negotiation skills and patience will also be useful during hectic periods.
Despite the macro disruptions, those in this line of work can enjoy plenty of job opportunities. So long as global markets look to diversify their suppliers to increase their supply chains, the number and variety of employment prospects will likely remain high.

Banking and Financial Services
Serving as a key part of the world’s economy, graduates in this sector will play a crucial role in a variety of money matters.
As the core of the financial sector, bankers are responsible for handling cash, credit and other financial transactions. Larger employers here tend to be retail banks and insurance companies with financial management products. There are also digital banks, who operate entirely online with no physical infrastructure.
Here, the jobs and employers are diverse, so graduates have a wide selection of positions to choose from. For example, portfolio managers oversee investments for both companies and individual clients, maximising returns via strategic buying and selling. On the other hand, risk managers and actuaries mitigate market risks and analyse complex risks using predictive mathematical models. Alternatively, graduates can also pursue roles in actuarial consultancies and regulatory compliance firms, which are overseen by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Traditional banks and financial institutions have been adopting AI services and tools to streamline work processes to retain market share against emerging digital banks. In addition, global inflation has resulted in increased interest rates as well as a reversion to more conservative financial strategies.
Opportunities for graduates
Interested graduates will need more than just a finance or business degree if they want to succeed in this sector. Soft skills like leadership, the ability to work under pressure and strong communication skills will be vital.
In addition, competition for limited spaces in both graduate trainee programmes and entry-level positions can be fierce. Candidates should hence pursue relevant internships and work experiences to stand out, as well as submit their applications early to improve their chances. Graduate hires usually start as analysts, with trainee programmes offering rotations across departments for a more holistic understanding of the organisation. They may also shadow senior managers during client meetings to pick up vital communication skills.
After a few years, they will progress to junior or associate roles, and assume responsibility for managing both clients and stakeholders. Those who are client-focused, analytical and good with numbers will find themselves highly valued here.

Some specialise in areas like HR and information technology (IT), while others operate as jack-of-all-trades, providing general advice. Common responsibilities include providing recommendations, attending meetings, gathering information and updating clients on the progress of various projects and strategies.
While this line of work offers high starting salaries and opportunities for global travel, it is also rift with stiff competition due to its popularity. In addition, emerging trends and industry changes, such as corporate sustainability, digital transformation and economic shifts means that there is never a dull moment here.
Opportunities for graduates
With its demanding nature, consultants must be highly dedicated to their job, going the extra mile to provide added value for clients beyond just completing their projects on time. In exchange for attractive benefits, most management consultants work between 50 to 80 hours per week.
Established consultancy firms typically recruit through graduate trainee programmes, though placements and internships are sometimes extended to students in their penultimate year. This allows them to get their feet wet in the industry ahead of the normal recruitment cycle while also impressing potential employers along the way.
A passion for life-long learning, strong communication and organisation skills will be necessary to excel here. Adaptability will also be vital to deal with changing business demands. Thus, stay informed and updated about the industry you plan to specialise in.

The first priority of this industry is to protect their clients and their relevant assets from a variety of threats.
The insurance industry protects financial assets and individuals against unforeseen circumstances such as an accident or sudden death. Here, while larger firms tend to lead the sector on a global front, there are still plenty of smaller, newer ones that continue to flourish in Singapore.
At present, Singapore’s insurance and risk management sector is stipulated to grow by 5.6 per cent, according to Commercial Risk, due to an increased demand in coverage in healthcare, digital technology and data protection. In addition, the Financial Services Transformation Roadmap (ITM) 2025 by MAS aims to expand the nation’s capabilities in Asian insurance and risk transfer, with the industry projected to reach $4.2bn by 2025.
In addition, the insurance industry has continued to flourish, with the general insurance sector growing by about 10.1 per cent last year and more recently, the life insurance industry seeing a surge in demand for single-premium policies in the first quarter of 2024, according to the Life Insurance Association Singapore.

This field offers a wide spectrum of careers, including corporate writing, personal insurance and reinsurance. Regardless of role, the objective is the same: to protect an individual or entity’s financial assets.
The hiring landscape has since grown competitive, with companies vying for tech-savvy talents. Successful candidates can establish credibility and skills in this field, while also exercising entrepreneurial attitudes. This is especially so in positions that require problem-solving, creative thinking, and a drive to help others.

Investment Banking and Investment Management
A challenging yet engaging sector, graduates here are relied on to make good financial decisions for their clients.
This sector is particularly attractive for graduates due to its promising career progression and competitive salaries. However, it is also demanding and unpredictable, meaning that long hours and high-pressure situations are common occurrences.
Work environments can be highly dynamic, with motivated employees gaining responsibilities early. However, career paths can be volatile due to being affected by factors like the current economic climate, geopolitical conflict and other market developments.
Currently, the industry faces new advancements such as generative AI, open banking and fraud detection, heralding an era of higher efficiency and better client engagement as a result. As such, interested graduates will need to keep these trends in mind when job-hunting and upskilling.
Opportunities for graduates
Successful candidates often begin as investment analysts who study the company and industry’s performance. In some firms, graduate training programmes are offered, allowing new hires to explore different roles across departments like management and legal controls.
Banks also typically offer internships as part of their recruitment process, which can be competitive. Alternatively, graduates can consider joining stockbroking firms, where apart from buying and selling shares, they will offer financial advice to investors.
There are also opportunities in insurance firms and investment fund houses as analysts, junior associates or junior traders. Investment roles can also be found in sectors like property development and the public sector.
While a finance degree is not necessary, having a background in business, economics, maths or statistics is still generally preferred. Likewise, while some firms are open to recruiting fresh graduates, others may require a few years of working experience. IT and Technology
As the tech industry continues to advance and evolve, graduates too must keep up with the changing trends and remain informed about up-and-coming digital tools if they want to flourish here.
Globally recognised for its IT and technology sector, Singapore is known for its innovation and development in areas such as AI, cloud computing and more. Graduates can thus expect a dynamic job market and work with cutting-edge tools.
With the sudden resurgence in technological advancement, the demand for skilled tech talent in Singapore will likely remain high as the nation stays updated and alert against new IT trends. For example, Singapore intends to triple its AI workforce in the next three to five years as part of a revised national AI strategy, while more companies are putting more investment in cybersecurity due to work becoming more digitalised. In addition, over S$1 billion will be invested over the next five years to in order to further boost Singapore’s AI capabilities.
Growing environmental concerns have also created openings in sustainable technology, such as in sustainability analytics, green management solutions and predictive modeling.
In light of this, Singapore has also launched a S$30 million fund to support research in developing green computing solutions, as well as conducted green software trials to test carbon reduction efficiency techniques for software development.
Opportunities for graduates
Graduates will find a range of opportunities across this industry, from technical roles like IT support and programming, to business roles like development and internal operations. Alternatively, they can also seek employment in fields like banking, manufacturing or the public sector.
In addition, entry roles can be found in smaller companies and startups, who can potentially scale up to global enterprises in the right circumstances. To better their operation performances, candidates with strong analytical skills to handle big data are preferred.
Science-based degrees, while preferred, are not essential here. In exchange, however, graduates from non-IT backgrounds may need to bridge the knowledge gap by taking up related studies. Still, having an IT degree does not guarantee a job either; soft skills like commercial awareness will still be required to succeed.

Commercial awareness, communication abilities and social media competency are essential if graduates want to thrive in this field.
The dynamism from this industry carries over multiple platforms, from print and broadcast to social media. Together, they play a vital role for various industries by aiding companies in their business expansion.
Here, graduates can choose from a variety of roles, such as in copywriting, brand management and market research. While some jobs will involve direct engagement with stakeholders and the public, others take a backseat and focus on support functions. In addition, professionals can operate as generalists or choose to specialise in specific fields.
In recent years, a lot has changed in the media sector as more consumers and employers gravitate towards digital media, such as streaming and social media. In addition, other avenues are also being explored by Singapore’s government, with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) launching a S$300 million International Co-Production Fund in 2023 to encourage local media firms to not just work with international partners, but also enhance their skills in virtual production.
Opportunities for graduates
Generally, plenty of jobs here are open to all disciplines, though there are some that demand specific skills or qualifications, such as videoediting and graphic design for roles in advertising and marketing.

In addition, with the increasing prevalence of social media and digital marketing, multimedia and online skills have become increasingly essential to pick up.

Rather, due to the constantly changing nature of the market, research and insight generation skills are essential for employers to stay relevant, as well as communication skills to both collaborate with and pitch new ideas to stakeholders. The media sector also benefits from having a solid professional network to access talents and resources for projects.

This industry revolves around land development and sales and enjoys a healthy demand of graduates due to offering a variety of job positions and roles, whether with developers or investors.
Firms typically operate in either one or a combination of markets: commercial, residential, or rural. However, as the sector is synonymous with both the construction and financial fields, activity can fluctuate accordingly.
According to a report by PropertyGuru, property prices are anticipated to remain high but stable for the first half of 2024, with a continued steady, upwards demand. However, due to potential uncertainties such as economic conditions and elevated interest rates, investors and buyers still remain cautious when navigating the market.
Opportunities for graduates
The career paths offered here are vast, which include valuation, real estate planning and urban planning.
Taking up internships in this sector, especially with estate agents and in the public sector, will be helpful; not only to gain hands-on industry experience but to assess their fit for the industry.
This works out for recruiters, who can offer full-time jobs to top interns at a later date. For those looking to work in smaller firms, new hires can also enjoy more opportunities to gain on-field experience such as handling on-going property deals.
For soft skills, having commercial awareness, analytical skills and communication skills are important for those looking to rapidly advance the career ladder. In addition, it is necessary to stay informed about the current investment trends in the market, both domestically and internationally.
Graduates should also look out for professional certifications as some job roles will require them. These can include certifications from the Real Estate Agency or taking the Real Estate Salesperson tests.

Witnessing our collective e orts culminate in a deployable system is immensely rewarding.
Then and now
Initially, I faced a steep learning curve. Aside from familiarising myself with existing technologies, I had to master new programming languages and adopt modern technologies for projects.
To accelerate my learning, I enrolled in relevant courses and sought guidance from my colleagues. DSO provides opportunities to attend both internal and external training courses, which complemented my on-the-job experience.
In my new role, I have to deal with another a steep learning curve in the niche domain of sonar. While my approach remains unchanged, I have more confidence in the process, due to my past successes.
Essential skills
Resourcefulness and the ability to envision multiple solutions are invaluable skills. In applied research and development, we are often hindered by unforeseen di culties, or the need to adapt existing solutions to our unique use case. The key lies in how one navigates around these roadblocks to achieve the desired outcome.
Advice for graduates
There will always be the next learning curve to overcome. Embrace stepping out of your comfort zone and doing the hard things. It is during these moments that you will learn, gain new experiences, and experience the most growth.
IMPACTING LIVES THROUGH SPECIAL
EDUCATIONAL NEEDS SUPPORT
Lead Special Educational Needs O cer, MOE
2011: Joined Ministry of Education (MOE) as an Allied Educator (Learning and Behavioural Support)
2016: Appointed Senior Allied Educator (Learning and Behavioural Support)
2021: Awarded MOE Service Excellence Award Gold
2022: Appointed Lead Special Educational Needs O cer
2023: Awarded 2023 National Day Awards Commendation Medal and MOE Service Excellence Platinum Award
“It is crucial to listen, seek to understand, and maintain an openminded and sincere approach.”
Getting started
I chose to be a Special Educational Needs (SEN) O cer as I strongly believe that all students with special needs should be given equal opportunities to reach their fullest potential, and I wanted to be their advocate. My degree in psychology with sociology, coupled with experience working with children with special needs, fuelled my interest.
After graduating, I joined MOE as an Allied Educator (Learning and Behavioural Support) in a mainstream school. My first posting at a secondary school was my first time working with teenagers. I learnt a lot from working with my students with SEN, their parents and teachers, and it was especially meaningful when I got to witness my students’ progress.
About my job
In my role as the Lead SEN O cer, I provide guidance to schools to enhance support for students with SEN, mentor other SEN o cers, and assist students with complex needs. Additionally, I collaborate with school teams to create individual intervention plans, provide direct support to students, and work closely with parents and external agencies.
The most interesting aspect of my job is working with diverse stakeholders. When many stakeholders are involved, a challenge would be the di erent views on how to improve SEN support. We will come together, discuss, and achieve consensus for the students’ benefit.
What I enjoy most about my job
Working with students with SEN gives me a sense of accomplishment, especially when I see them improving and becoming confident and independent individuals. I celebrate small successes with the students, teachers and parents. When everyone’s goals are aligned, the sense of fulfilment is beyond words. Working with dedicated colleagues and facilitating professional development training for teachers
and SEN O cers also keeps me motivated.
Then and now
When I initially started this job, the role of SEN o cers was relatively new and the understanding of SEN support was not widespread. Now, there is greater awareness of SEN and inclusion, which facilitates my advocacy. However, changing mindsets and beliefs remains a persistent challenge among some key stakeholders. My approach to handling these challenges remains consistent: listening with an open mind, educating, and advocating.
Essential skills
Essential skills for excelling as a SEN O cer include having strong interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Having prior experience working with individuals with special needs and engaging educators and professionals in this field has helped to broaden my perspectives and deepened my understanding.
Advice for graduates
Fresh graduates entering this industry should possess a passion for supporting students with special needs and a strong desire to positively impact others. It is crucial to listen, seek to understand, and maintain an open-minded and sincere approach.
For those interested in joining as a SEN O cer, MOE provides training to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide SEN support in schools. Continual training opportunities are also available for more experienced SEN O cers, with potential advancement to higher roles such as Senior SEN O cer, Lead SEN O cer, Master SEN O cer, and Principal SEN O cer for those who consistently demonstrate strong performance.
A VARIETY OF LEARNING EXPERIENCES
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), TikTok
2016: Graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Nanyang Technological University
2018: Spearheaded the DevOps e orts at a local start-up as a one-man team, overseeing the company’s architecture and infrastructure
2020: Joined GovTech, contributed as a core member of the initial release of TraceTogether
2022: Joined TikTok as a Site Reliability Engineer of TraceTogether
“The culture of autonomy and openness at TikTok is truly empowering; everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas, and good ones are brought to fruition.”
Getting started
From an early age, the idea of creating something unique captivated me. My fondness for gaming sparked a desire to create my own game, leading me to study Computer Science. I embarked on my professional journey as a Backend Engineer in 2016. After gaining valuable experience and insights, I transitioned to a DevOps Engineer role in 2018. Currently, I work as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at TikTok.
The transition from working in startups to TikTok, a global company, was a big change! The sheer scale and speed of operations at TikTok were a completely di erent experience!
About my job
As an SRE at TikTok, my role involves enhancing the stability of product teams. This could range from improving alarm coverage and accuracy for timely issue resolution, detecting and mitigating issues earlier, to automating disaster recovery drills for preparedness during outages. My day-to-day responsibilities include preparing weekly reports to identify potential risks, automating as much of our operations as possible, and collaborating with global teams to address common challenges. One of the most challenging aspects of my job is the scale of the company. It is often di cult to develop a one-size-fits-all solution for all teams, necessitating extensive coordination and collaboration with other teams.
What I enjoy most about my job
The dynamic nature! It is a perfect blend of technical problem-solving and interpersonal collaboration, as I work with diverse teams and individuals from across the globe. The culture of autonomy and openness at TikTok is truly empowering; everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas, and good ones are brought to fruition. The most fulfilling aspect
of my job is seeing the tangible impact of my work on the company. Although we may not be developing user-facing features, our e orts in improving and ensuring stability make a significant contribution.
Then and now
As a fresh graduate, my initial challenges involved mastering the art of writing clean, e cient coding and bug-free feature rollouts while developing a strong foundation in software development and teamwork. Nowadays, my focus has shifted to automating our daily workload to streamline processes and improve team e ciency. My approach has evolved from honing individual technical skills to fostering a holistic understanding of the interconnected elements of our organisations.
Essential skills
To excel in this role, a solid understanding of software particularly in backend or frontend development, is crucial. Knowledge of software architecture and infrastructure is key to enhancing stability and e ciency, enabling us to plan for contingencies like server or database failures.
understanding of software engineering,
While formal education may not cover software architecture and infrastructure in-depth, numerous online resources are available for self-learning. Personal projects and internships provide practical and real-world exposure.
Advice for graduates
Never stop learning. The tech industry is constantly evolving, and it is crucial to stay updated and continuously hone your skills. Do not be afraid to take on new challenges—they are the best growth opportunities. Lastly, remember that soft skills like communication and teamwork are just as important as technical skills. They enable you to work e ectively with others and contribute positively to the workplace culture.

“TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY, BE IT NUTRITION,
REST OR CULTIVATING AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE, BECAUSE IF YOU DON’T, WHO ELSE WOULD?”
Syafiqah Nawawi has been an AIA Consultant for five years now. She first started in healthcare but decided to answer the higher calling of becoming a trusted representative after witnessing the financial struggles of cancer patients. Her purpose is to ensure no one faces the burden of exorbitant medical bills alone.
Beyond work, I’m passionate about competitive women’s football. Despite enduring countless setbacks from knee surgeries and battles with endometriosis, I have continued to embrace every opportunity to become a beacon of hope for others. When I was 8, I started to play football with boys in school, as women’s football wasn’t as widely recognised in Singapore. I have since played for clubs such as F17 Academy Women’s team, Police Sports Association and Simei United Women’s Team, and even during my years in ITE and polytechnic.
When the chance to join a women’s football team to compete in the AIA Championship 2023 arose, I rallied my team, believing that victory was within our grasp. We trained hard, built our strategy, teamwork and mindset, and emerged as the champions of Singapore! As the winning team, we headed to London to play against tough and inspiring women from different markets. It was an experience I’d forever be grateful for, mainly because the exposure and experience were something I’d hardly seen before – women footballers were treated equally.
I believe that women’s football in Singapore has so much room for growth, and I’d like to continue championing more women to be exposed to this sport and inspiring more people to lead Healthier, Longer and Better Lives.
