Motion of Birds According to the observation at Providence River, I found out different species of birds have their certain moving patterns. Through mapping out moving patterns of three types of birds (duck, goose and dove) and compare them to the moving pattern of human, I figured out there's specific rules of their movements. birds are willing to gather at shoreline and interact with human.

SITE HISTORY MAP The area of urban vacant land keeps imcreasing. Maps in 2003 and 2011 indicate that the increasing vacant lands are mostly located at shoreline area, which indicate the vacant land could be considered as potential bird habitats in urban area.

PROJECTION on bird habitat Urban vacant land can be considered as pontential bird habitat, especially those waterfront vacant land. Besides, different from conserved wetland far away from city (which is no doubt the perfect bird habitat), urban vacant land can offer a place for human and birds to have interaction through careful restoration. In this map I intend to find pontential urban bird habitat though mapping out the location of existing vacant land and potential vacant land (waste dosposal).

WAX model In this wax model, I use three colors to show what the site may look like at normal water level and high tide water level. The red area indicates the intertidal zone and the blue color is normal water body.
