Aguada Its name comes from Montevideo colonial era when the neighborhood was the main supplier of water, thanks to its wells and sources. Today, it is a popular neighborhood and is where the monumental building of the legislative palace and its annex building is situated as well as the telecommunications center and various educational centers. Just a few meters away is the “Mercado Agricola”, agricultural market, an interesting place for shopping. It is also home of the theater “Vieja Farmacia Solis” and the Temple of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, where the first meeting dedicated to the creation of the national constitution took place.

The tour of “El Palacio Legislativo” (legislative palace) and its surroundings is a must do. Just meters away from here is the famous square “1st of May”.
A tour of the telecommunications center offers a fantastic panoramic view of Montevideo, as well as the museum related to the history of communication in the country.
