Cordón, Palermo and Parque Rodó Cordón
Near to Montevideo’s main avenue, is this popular neighborhood with similar characteristics to the city center. During the day, students make up much of the movement of the area, as it is the home of numerous public and private schools. At night, the area is also filled with people due to the nightlife it has to offer. Some points of interest are the school of Law and its esplanade, the National Library, the Church of the Cordon and the square Los Treinta y Tres. There is also the INJU (National Institute of Youth), where cultural events and shows are held. Information is available on their web site. There is a fixed market in the square of Los Treinta y Tres on Av. Daniel Fernández Crespo corner July 18. On Sundays, a must is the enormous market at Tristan Narvaja.
