The Day! Brett and Amy tied the knot in a stunning spring wedding at St Mary’s Church, Oxfordshire, before celebrating their reception at The Tythe Barn, Launton. The couple had already seen three venues but they knew instantly The Tythe Barn was perfect. With a dusky pink and navy colour theme, Amy’s bridesmaids wore long, pink dresses while Brett’s groomsmen opted for three-piece navy suits. Amy loves gin and Brett loves rugby so they incorporated these into their wedding theme. Amy even started collecting gin bottles for centrepieces before Brett proposed! Apart from having all their loved ones gathered in one place, the couple said their favourite part of the day was the food. Celebrant-led weddings are becoming increasingly popular with couples looking for more freedom for their ceremony. Erica Harley, The Ridgeway Celebrant, explains a little about what celebrant ceremonies involve... What is a celebrant-led ceremony? While civil ceremonies have to be done in a certain way to be legal, celebrants give couples freedom with their ceremony. Couples can create their own vows, include poems, readings and music to suit their tastes and include religious elements or spiritual ones, such as handfasting. Plus, couples can choose any place or time for their celebrant ceremony. Not only does your celebrant offer more freedom and flexibility than a registrar, but they’ll make a concerted effort to become part of the wedding team, rather than just a stranger conducting a ceremony.

Is a celebrant ceremony legal? No, so you must book a legal ceremony with a registrar as well if you want your marriage to be legally binding. This occurs either in a Registry Office or in a registered venue - this can happen before or after your celebrant ceremony. Fees for the legal ceremony can vary - just the 2 of you with no extras could be £50-£70, whereas 2 registrars attending at a registered venue could be as high as £720.00. How do celebrants prepare for a wedding with the couple? Generally there is a free consultation to see if the couple mesh well with their celebrant. This is followed by a number of meetings to discuss the vows, music, and readings. This can be done either by telephone or face-to-face. Most celebrants will expect a deposit paid at the first meeting to save the date, and then they can get to work on creating a personalised wedding ceremony for their couple. THE

Winter sees suit trends lean towards heavier materials and dark tones. When choosing your fabric, you can choose from a variety of wool materials or something more unusual such as tweed, wool or corduroy choose dark tones, with options including black, blue, or charcoal grey.
