I started my fitness journey back in 2013 by accomplishing my goal of becoming an ACE certified personal trainer. I am passionate about helping clients of all ages reach mobility, confidence and health goals in a one-on-one session or a couples training session. Guiding this transformation safely, effectively and most importantly having fun along the way. I continued my education with a keen interest in functional movement which led me to TRX training. I completed two certifications with TRX, functional movement and suspension training. This has given me the tools to create a dynamic and extremely effective training program suitable for all ages and abilities. To understand better the mind - body connection through movement, my studies directed me towards the academy of applied movement neurology. With manual muscle testing you can increase range of motion, muscular engagement and stability. Tips for a great swim lesson: ✔ Return your child’s report card to their instructor on the first day of lessons. This helps the instructors evaluate their students and keeps all of their progress in one place.
✔ Ensure your child showers and uses the bathroom before lessons.
✔ Ask your child to wait for their instructor under their level sign.
✔ Do not bring a sick swimmer to lessons. ✔ Tie hair back and ensure googles fit properly- no mask goggles please, they inhibit proper breath control.
✔ Parents and siblings wishing to enjoy a swim or hot tub before, during or after a swim lesson, please pay admission at Reception before entering.
✔ If swimming during lesson time, please respect lesson space and equipment.

Q: How long have you worked in Aquatic and/or community recreation? Coming close to 8 years.
Q: How long have you worked in Aquatic and/or community recreation? I started seven years ago as a paddling coach & summer camp leader!
Q: What drew you to this field of work? Initially it was the job description of an outdoor based summer camp which listed all the activities I was hoping to do throughout the summer anyways.
Q: What drew you to this field of work? It doesn’t feel like work - I love the water, I love working with kids, and I love teaching.
Q: What are your hobbies? Anything outdoors and active. I love going on back country camping trips, surfing in Tofino, and playing soccer for a nearby men’s team.
Q: What are your hobbies? Fitness, music production, travelling Q: What is your education and training? Water Safety Instructor / Instructor Trainer, Lifesaving Instructor, First Aid Instructor
Q: What is your education and training? I bounced around the post-secondary circuit for a while until eventually enrolling in the Justice Institute of BC to complete my Fire Fighter training.
Q: What is one thing on your bucket list? Complete a full Ironman triathlon
Q: What is one thing on your bucket list? Learn how to play the Piano. Not an entire concerto but a couple of tunes would be nice.
Q: What do you love about your job? I love watching people improve and feel proud of their progress.
Q: What do you love about your job? Community Recreation is something I unknowingly grew up taking advantage of and I love having the opportunity to make it accessible and engaging for as many other community members as possible.
Q: Do you have any advice for people who want to start working in aquatics and recreation? Be a water safety role model and come meet us at the pool, we’ll be excited to help you!
Q: Do you have any advice for people who want to start working in aquatics and recreation? If you enjoy a healthy active lifestyle why not consider getting paid to help others enjoy one too.

when you are buying or selling real estate:
Buying or selling a home is one of the most important decisions you’ll make If you’re a home buyer, I will help you find exactly what you’re looking for, take advantage of market conditions, evaluate available listings and neighbourhoods that suit your needs. I can work with you to help get pre-approved for a mortgage and budget for all the costs involved with buying a home.

JANUARY - APRIL 2019 | GULF ISLANDS DRIFTWOOD
Maxwell Lake Please Respect the Watershed
PROTECT OUR WATER SUPPLY Maxwell Lake is a vital part of our island watershed, supplying water to many island homes, farms and businesses. Both islanders and tourists alike can help to play a vital role in watershed protection by honouring the fact that it is private community watershed and not open for camping, swimming, walking, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking or off-road vehicles such as motorbikes and ATVs. These activities slowly degrade the watershed because the expansion of trails and pathways creates a direct route for nutrients and sediment to enter the lake during the rainy season. This nutrient loading will negatively impact water quality in both the short and long term. A healthy and intact watershed helps to filter and purify runoff before it reaches the lake; damage to the watershed will directly result in decreased water quality and increased treatment costs in order to meet the appropriate standards and regulations for drinking water. The North Salt Spring Waterworks District appreciates your cooperation in our ongoing efforts to preserve this valuable natural resource.
