Burhan‘‘There were lots of arguments around the demolishing such landmarks, in such a dense area this was a land given to people via a stadium. Critics stated that it if the stadium was to move to another part of the city, the site should still be a space for the people, that Mecidiyeköy could benefit greatly from a park. Some defended that at least the factory should be kept there as it was a place of memory, both in urban and social sense. On top of all this, there was a work accident in 2014, resulting in the killing of ten workers. In a project like this, the subject is not just the physicality of the towers, but also the social-political debates surrounding it.’’
