What is VoIP? VoIP stands for Voice over IP (Internet Protocol). It is the process of communication in which transmission of voice occurs through IP based networks. It is the advance technology for telecommunication which anybody can avail either through mobile device or computer at very low cost. It has become popular among the public due to its low cost, better quality and ease of accessibility as compared to other telephonic networks. VoIP saves the additional cost which caller usually pay a per minute fee on regular telephonic networks while doing long distance calls. There are following ways for connecting to a VoIP network:
VoIP Phone- usually a mobile phone having VoIP software. Using normal phone with VoIP adapter. Using computer with normal speakers and microphone.
Types of VoIP Calls and Process: There are two types of VoIP Calls through which the one caller can connect to the other: 1. PC to Phone/Mobile: In this VoIP call caller makes the call through VoIP device connected with the computer or a normal VoIP device to a normal telephone or mobile phone. 2. PC to PC: In this VoIP call caller makes the call through VoIP device connected with the computer or a normal VoIP device to another computer connected with VoIP device or normal VoIP device.
