Tuesday, 11th September Enjoy an early mouth-watering breakfast on board our luxury ship, as we arrive in Mykonos. Considered to be the most famous island in Greece and with no doubt the most cosmopolitan of the Cyclades islands, its name is connected with entertainment and endless parties. But Mykonos does not offer only that, it is the island of surprises - It has unique beauties, other known and others still unexplored...! The island of winds, as locals call it, is the closest island to Delos, the sacred island of antiquity. You may wish to join one of the on-board excursions or else enjoy exploring Mykonos Town and walk along the cobblestone streets of this famous island with its numerous shops, cafes and restaurants before you return to the port to re-join the ship which sets sail at around midnight. Wednesday, 12th September Our next port of call shall be the island of Santorini, which is considered to be the most breath-taking of all the Greek Islands. It is referred to as one island but actually it is a complex of five islands. Santorini (Thira) is the main island and around it Thirasia and Aspronisi (parts of the ancient Stroggili) and the two volcanic islands Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni. It was one island named Stroggili (circle in Greek) until about 1645 BC, when the volcano in the middle of the island erupted and Caldera was created. The two volcanic islands appeared much later from various eruptions starting from 157 BC until the last one in the 20th century (1950). You may again wish to join one of the optional excursions organised by the ship or enjoy some relaxing time on your own. The ship shall depart at 6 p.m. and you then have the whole evening to eat in one of the various restaurants and enjoy sipping a drink whilst appreciating the shows and on-board activities. Thursday, 13th September As we arrive at Rhodes, which is our next port of call, enjoy a mouthwatering early breakfast so you may then either explore the city on your own or else join an optional excursion visiting the beautiful “Island of Roses” which has a rich and varied history. Prestigious and noble, Rhodes still preserves traces of the times when the Order of the Knights of the Maltese Cross were based in Rhodes. On a hill above the charming town of Lindos rises an ancient acropolis dedicated to the goddess Athena. Below, one finds the bay of St. Paul, where the apostle landed during his voyages. Lindos used to be one of the most important of the three great cities of ancient times, guarded by medieval walls which were constructed by the knights of St. John in the 13th century. Within them stands the ancient Acropolis of Lindos, on the brink of a precipice 400 feet above the sea. You may also wish to enjoy a walk through the medieval city of Rhodes visiting the most interesting historical and artistic monuments, such as the Castle, the fascinating Knights’ Road and the Grand Master’s Palace. The ship’s departure is scheduled for 9 p.m. and later on tonight, why not visit the ship’s casino, where you can try your luck at roulette, black jack or at the slot machines? Friday, 14th September Our next stop shall be in Crete, the largest and the most rugged of the Greek islands. It was also the home of the great Minoan Civilization and the mythological home of Zeus. Heraklion is just three miles away from the fantastic ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Discovered in 1899 and par-

8 Cruises 2012

Costa Atlantica tially reconstructed, the elaborate Palace is believed to be the mythical Labyrinth of King Minos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture. You may wish to either explore the main sites on your own or join one of the offered optional excursions. Departure shall be at 11 p.m. Saturday, 15th September This morning we again visit the wonderful island of Satorini and so after breakfast you may explore some of the wonderful places such as the village of Oia. Oia is a typical Santorini village: a maze of marble-paved streets, ochre-coloured houses and the blue dome-shaped roofs that are such a distinctive feature of the island. From here you can admire spectacular views of the islands of Folegandros and Sikinos and of the now extinct volcano. Re-join the ship in time for departure (at 6 p.m.) and our dinner on board. Sunday, 16th September Today shall be our first full day spent cruising, and so it would be appropriate to explore the numerous amenities and activities offered on board. You will be spoilt with all the choices varying from sunbathing by the pool, whirlpools, shopping, aerobics, exercising in the fitness centre, casino and much more. The ship’s animators will organize activities and entertain guests in the pool area and other lounges.

Monday, 17th September At 8 a.m. our ship shall dock in the northern Israeli port of Haifa, the country’s third largest city in Israel. We recommend an optional excursion purchased from on board visiting Jerusalem and Bethlehem. A picturesque drive will take you to Bethlehem to visit the famed Church of the Nativity, which attracts throngs of pilgrims of all faiths every year. After some time we head on to Jerusalem, a mosaic of numerous districts and villages, each with its own style and jealously preserved habits. Following a sightseeing tour of the modern districts, you will enter the Old City to see part of the Via Dolorosa, the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher and the Wailing Wall. Your guide will then accompany you to the top of one of the city’s hills, from which you will be able to admire the Mount of Olives and breath-taking views of the surrounding area. We shall return on board in time before the ship’s departure, scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday, 18th September Our wonderful cruise comes to an end as we enter the port of Limasol this morning! Friday, 11th May Dover shall be our last port of call and so after breakfast another interesting optional excursion awaits us. We shall start with a drive to Leeds Castle, one of the most romantic and most ancient castles in the Kingdom. In the 9th century, this was the site of a

manor of the Saxon royal family. Listed in the Doomsday Book, this castle has been a Norman strong-hold, a royal residence to six of England’s medieval Queens, a playground and palace to Henry VIII and a private home. The next highlight will be Canterbury, England’s most famous cathedral city, which has a tradition of visitor welcome that reaches back to the days of medieval pilgrimages. We then proceed with a leisurely afternoon drive which takes you on a tour of an area whose appeal lies in the diversity and quality of its scenery and in the historic character of its many delightful hamlets and villages. The ship shall set sail from Dover at 3.00 p.m. and so enjoy the final evening on board this luxury ship. Later on in the evening you will be instructed to leave your luggage outside your stateroom as bags are transported ashore by Royal Caribbean personnel early next morning. Saturday, 12th May The Brilliance of the Seas Ship docks in Amsterdam at 5 a.m. Enjoy our last breakfast on board as our cruise holiday comes to an end. Day 3 Our first port of call shall be in Denmark. Join our optional excursion as we explore the splendid city of Copenhagen, which has been the capital city of the kingdom of Denmark since 1417. This excursion is an ideal introduction to the city as we shall see the main highlights within Copenhagen including the Town Hall Square, Tivoli Gardens, the Black Diamond, the New Carlsberg Glyptoteque, the National Museum, the Christiansborg Castle - home of the Danish Parliament, the old Stock Exchange and the residence of the Royal Family - Amalienborg Palace and the beautiful Amaliehaven park, on the seafront. During the tour, a photographic stop is made at the Little Mermaid - the diminutive statue, which has become the world famous symbol of Copenhagen. We return to our ship in the afternoon, in time for departure, which is set for 4 p.m. Day 4 Today shall be another day at sea and so another day to relax and unwind! Sun worshippers may lay down on a sun-bed or deck chair by the pool lapping in the sun whilst the more active and energetic clients may enjoy the various on-board activities, games, sports activities and aerobic classes. As cruising is also a great family vacation the ship’s animation team offer special programmes for all our ‘sailors’, whatever their age – from toddlers till teenagers! Day 5 As we enter the port of Stockholm enjoy our usual lavish breakfast. Afterwards we suggest that you join our tour leader on an optional half day city tour. Stockholm is a striking city that seems to float on water – part of it is built on 14 islands! It has been likened to Venice, due to its location by the sea, its waterways and bridges. It is dotted with parkland and refined architecture with painted rooftops. The Old Town, with its cobblestone streets, evokes memories of the 18th Century. The city boasts more than 100 museums, more than 100 slotts (castles, palaces and manor houses) and more theatres than most cities in Europe. The ship shall set sail from Stockholm at 5.00 p.m. Day 6 After breakfast you may wish to join our optional excursion as we explore the city of Helsinki. After leaving the port we shall drive towards the heart of the city along the coastal road, passing by Embassy Park and the colourful open-air market before arriving in the neoclassical Senate Square. Perched above the square’s wide steps, you will see the domed Lutheran Cathedral. Designed by Carl Ludwig Engel, the square is surrounded by the University, State Council Building and Cathedral. As we continue our tour passing onto Mannerheim Street, the main thoroughfare of the city, you will see the Parliament House, National

Iewel of the Seas Museum and the Finlandia Hall. We return to our ship in time for departure at 6 p.m. Day 7 This morning we arrive in St. Petersburg, surely one of the highlights of this cruise! The ship shall berth in this wonderful city overnight and shall depart tomorrow evening. (Important note – All clients who wish to disembark on their own from the ship must obtain an entry visa for Russia from the Russian Embassy). Today we offer you an optional day excursion of this wonderful city. St. Petersburg is rich in cultural heritage, and a masterpiece of architecture that embodies the soul of Imperial Russia. In 1703, Peter the Great built a fortress on the banks of the Neva River, and by 1712 a new city had emerged. Elegant façades, glorious cathedrals and grand residences were built along the city’s canals. The Hermitage Museum (incl. entr.) is one of the world’s greatest treasures and features more than 3 million exhibits. The bulk of the collection is housed in the impressive Winter Palace, the former home of the Tsars and one of the focal points of the 1917 revolution. Stroll along Nevsky Prospekt, the city’s main street for shopping and restaurants. Turning off Nevsky Prospekt down Kanal Griboyedova, pass by the ornate Church of the Spilled Blood. Also in the area one finds the Milkailovsky Park and the Summer Gardens, which are famous for the number of white statues of influential Russians throughout history. Across the Neva River one finds the Peter and Paul Fortress, one of the first buildings constructed in the city. All the Tsars, from Peter the Great to the last Romanovs are buried in the St. Peter & Paul Cathedral. Day 8 Another incredible full day in St. Petersburg! After breakfast you may wish to join another optional day excursion visiting Petrodvorets (Peterhof), the town of palaces, fountains and parks which was the most brilliant of all the summer residences of the Russian tsars. It is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland and was

conceived by Peter the Great to rival Versailles in splendour and indeed, one could spend the whole day enjoying the extravaganza of the fountain display. Peterhof was officially opened in 1721 and has a commanding view over the Lower Park and the Gulf beyond. The Grand Palace commands a breath-taking view of the Grand Cascade, which is justly considered the chief delight of the grounds. We return to our ship in the afternoon in time for our departure in the early evening. Day 9 Today we shall be entering the port of Estonia’s capital city, Tallinn, so after an early breakfast we suggest you join our optional half day excursion. We shall first drive to Toompea Castle, passing ancient walls, tower gateways. As we walk up Toompea Hill to Palace Square enjoy the view of the baroque Toompea Castle, now the residence of the Estonian Parliament and the lovely Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevski Cathedral, a dominating feature of Upper Town’s city skyline, and home to numerous golden icons and mosaics. From there we shall continue along Tallinn’s medieval cobbled streets to view the Gothic St Mary’s Cathedral. We then visit the Lower Town and visit St. Nicholas Church, which was first mentioned in 1315 and is dedicated to the patron saint of merchants and seafarers and continuing by the medieval narrow streets of Lower town to the merchants’ house of Hanseatic League. The ship sets sail from Tallinn at 5.00pm Day 10 Day at sea. On such a ship there should never be a dull moment! On Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, you are sure to enjoy every moment! Even just strolling through the ship is an exciting activity. Obviously, you should try the numerous delicious buffets on offer throughout the day as we sail the Baltic Sea heading south towards Gothenburg. In the evening you may choose to try your luck at the Casino or relax in one of the themed bars and lounges!

Tuesday, 07th August Our first port of call shall be Reykjavik, the capital and largest city in Iceland. After lunch onboard we highly recommend today’s exciting optional excursion, starting with a pleasant drive through Hafnarfjordur town, situated picturesquely on an ancient lava flow and continues along the enchanting Kleifarvatn Lake. In the geothermal fields Krysuvik we will witness the powerful jets of steam escaping from deep below the earth’s crust and multi-coloured pools of boiling mud of the solfataras. We drive across the impressive volcanic plateau of Reykjanes before driving through the bustling fishing village of Grindavik. The Blue Lagoon is close by, crowned by clouds of vapour and surrounded by lava, owing its existence to a nearby geothermal power plant. The water of the lagoon is warm, mineralrich and reputed for its healing properties. Drive back to our ship which will be docked in Reykjavik overnight. Wednesday, 08th August After a lavish breakfast, today we suggest an optional excursion to Reykjavik. With about 120,000 inhabitants, it’s certainly among the smallest capital cities in the world. The tour starts with a drive through Laugardalur, the City’s main recreational and sports area. You pass the Olympic sized, open-air swimming pool filled with geothermal water and open all year around. We then head to the open-air museum of Arbaer where old houses from Reykjavik and other parts of the country have been relocated. The next highlight is the National Museum. The Museum is dedicated to communicating knowledge of Iceland’s cultural heritage from the time of its pioneering settlement in 874 to the present day. We drive back through the old part of Reykjavik before heading back to our ship leaving at 2 p.m. Thursday, 09th August Our next port of call shall be Akureyri, an important port in the north of Iceland. Further along, we come to the warm underground river in the Grjótagjá rift and the geothermal area of Hverir with boiling mud pools, steaming fumaroles, and sulphur pits. Our last stop shall be at the Víti that was formed in 1724 in the Mývatnseldar eruption, and from there we will enjoy the view over the Leirhnjúkur volcano before finally relaxing in the Mývatn Nature Baths. The town is located on Bordoy, which is one of the northernmost islands. Originally four farms were at the location where Klaksvik is now. By time they grew into four villages that finally merged to what now is called Klaksvik. The church Christians-kirkjan dates from 1963. Its architecture is unconventional with a detached bell-frame. It is made of Faroese basalt and wood. Inside the church a Faroese rowing boat is hanging down from the ceiling. The font is made of a 4000 years old heathen sacrificial bowl originating from Denmark. The Eclipse leaves the port of Klaksvik at 4 p.m. Sunday, 12th August Day at sea. On such a ship there should never be a dull moment! On Celebrity Eclipse, you are sure to enjoy every moment! Even just strolling through the ship is an exciting activity. Monday, 22nd October After a lavish breakfast we suggest you join our first optional shore excursion as we visit Vigo, situated on the Northwest coast of Spain. A busy, mid-sized port on the Atlantic Coast, Vigo is located just north of Portugal and is Galacia’s largest and most industrialized city, dating back to Roman times. Enjoy some of the most beautiful coastline in the world during a drive along the scenic coastal road to La Toja, a city where you’ll experience true Galician culture - rich in historical significance and home to a church that is completely covered in seashells. Tuesday, 23rd October Today we shall be entering the port of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. We recommend an optional excursion visiting this city, also known as Lisboa to the native Portuguese and see why this city reigns above all others as you stroll along elaborate mosaic sidewalks and pass by the Monument to the Discoveries. One of Portugal’s best-known monuments is the impressive Manueline masterpiece, Belem Tower. A merger of Romanesque and Gothic art with Renaissance and eastern influences, the tower stands by the Tagus River at the point from which Vasco de Gama left for the Indies. Don’t miss the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, or Jeronimo’s Monastery. Wednesday, 24th October Day at sea. On such a ship there should never be a dull moment! On Royal Caribbean’s Independence, you are sure to enjoy every moment! Even just strolling through the Royal Promenade is an exciting activity. Obviously, you should try the numerous delicious buffets on offer throughout the day as we sail south towards the Canary Islands! Thursday, 25th October This morning our mega ship shall dock in Las Palmas in the Gran Canaria, the third largest of the seven Canary Islands, located off the northwest corner of Africa. We head to the capital city of the island, Las Palmas, here you shall enjoy some free time exploring the most interesting sites, including Plaza Santa Ana with its entrance guarded by bronze statues of dogs symbolizing the legendary dog, which since 1506 was said to have appeared in the town’s heights, and some impressive historic buildings, of which many have survived in their original state up to date. We shall then return to our ship enjoying the wonderful atmosphere on board! Friday, 26th October This morning, as we dock in Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands and with a population of 700,000. We suggest you join our optional excursion, which shall pass through the island’s administration and commercial centre and capital city, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, before our coach heads north towards San Andres before climbing to El Bailadero and the Anaga Mountains, a sweeping panorama of volcanic peaks at the north-eastern corner of Tenerife. You will stop for photos at el Bailadero before continuing down to Taganana, one of the oldest villages of Tenerife, where you will visit the church and have free time. Your next stop will be the Pico del Ingls, from where you have a beautiful view

Independence of the Seas of the north and south side of the island. Population is scarce in this harsh region but the road that runs northwards is a constant vision of stunning views over the island, pushing its way towards the Monte de Las Mercedes, a dense forest of laurel trees and one of the island’s most idyllic spots. Enjoy the rest of the evening on board this incredible ship. Saturday, 27th October After a lavish breakfast, we shall arrive in Funchal, the capital city of Madeira, a Portuguese archipelago located 650 kms off the North African coast. On our optional excursion we shall first visit the capital, passing by the Governor’s Residence before arriving in the centre, close by the Cathedral. After some free time we then head towards Cabo Girao, the highest sea cliff in Europe, and the second highest in the world. Soaring 1900 feet, its etched face tells the tale of its volcanic origins. From this impressive promontory, there are breath-taking views along the island’s southern coast. Finally, discover the old streets of Ribeira Brava, a small town on the southwest coast of the island. Ribeira Brava was one of the first parishes of the island and was inhabited early in the island’s history. Sunday, 28th October Today shall be another day at sea and so another day to relax and unwind! Sun worshippers may lay down on a sun-bed or deck chair by the pool lapping in the sun whilst the more active and energetic clients may enjoy the various on-board activities, games, sports activities and aerobic classes. Monday, 29th October Our last port of call shall be Ferrol. Today’s optional shore excursion takes us to Santiago De Compostela, the capital of Galicia, Spain’s greenest region, and is also one of the country’s most important sites for pilgrims. What began as a simple 9th-century chapel built in the name of St James the Apostle has grown into Europe’s most important shrine after St Peter’s in Rome. With its twin baroque towers soaring high above Obradoiro Square, this monument to the saint is a truly magnificent sight and its interior remains as it was in medieval times. You will learn about its history and see such sights as the Jubilee Door during a guided tour, and will also have time at leisure to wander around Obradoiro Square and beyond, admiring the city’s many beautiful historic buildings Tuesday, 30th October This shall be our last full day on board and as we shall have another relaxing day at sea you again have the opportunity to partake in the many activities organized by the ship’s animators. Newport has more restored colonial-era structures than any other city in the United States. The best place to go looking for landmarks is on Historic Hill. Don’t miss the Trinity Church. the city of Hoonah, the largest native Tlingit Indian settlement in Alaska, and very near Glacier Bay National Park. Home to a historic cannery, the port’s connection to the sea is strong. Locals share the sea with humpback whales, orcas, Dall porpoises, seals, sea otters, halibut and all five species of Pacific salmon. It is not uncommon to spot a humpback or an orca while walking along the shore. Wednesday, 25th July Today shall be spent cruising. Relax in your cabin or go up on deck and experience incredible views of the Hubbard Glacier. This glacier is the only one in the world that does not move at a glacial pace! Quite the opposite! In fact, in 1986, Hubbard Glacier - the largest tidewater glacier on the North American continent - moved an average of just under 5.5 feet per hour. Keep a watchful eye as you sail through the Yakutat Bay, as you may be a witness to geological history! Thursday, 26th July Today’s port of call shall be Juneau, located at the base of grand mountain peaks and at the pristine waterfront of the Gastineau Channel. Juneau, Alaska’s capital city is located in Southeast Alaska. The Tongass Rainforest climate provides Juneau with lush terrain and vibrant wildflowers. Early settlers included miners during Alaska’s gold rush and Russian fur traders. Native Alaska influence is prominent today in Juneau. It offers unparalleled glacier viewing from Tracy Arm Fjord, Mendenhall Glacier, the Juneau Ice field and Glacier Bay National Park. Outdoor enthusiasts will love Juneau’s extraordinary kayaking, dog sledging, rafting, biking, hiking and glacier hiking. Abundant salmon and halibut fishing are also available minutes from downtown. Friday, 27th July This afternoon the Celebrity Century docks in Ketchikan, the salmon capital of the world and a paradise for sport fishermen and naturalists alike. While the rustic boardwalk on Creek Street preserves a distinct historic feel, the town hums with new construction to keep up with the ever-expanding wave of tourism. Ketchikan’s name sup-

posedly comes from the native term “Katch Kanna”, which roughly translates: “spread wings of a thundering eagle” and rightly named, for you only need to look along the water line and you’re likely to see many bald eagles on waterside perches. The 2.2 million acre Misty Fjords National Monument lies 22 air miles east of Ketchikan. Saturday, 28th July Our last full day shall be spent cruising the Inside Passage. Glistening within Alaska’s Panhandle, this protected strip of water is a cruiser’s dream. As viewed from the sea, the towering glaciers, the brilliant blue ice, the emerald green of the virgin forests and the diamond-bright waterfalls combine to dazzle all who pass along these shorelines. Flex your fingers and load the film. taking places in New Zealand. The 22-km-long fjord is dominated by beautiful Mitre Peak and calmed by gorgeous waters that mirror the sheer peaks surrounding them. Although remote, visitors come from all over the world to admire its raw, unspoiled beauty and rare marine life. The ship then sails on and shall pass through Doubtful Sound (also known as ‘Sound of Silence’). This imposing fjord is a tranquil, awe-inspiring destination known for its cascading waterfalls, looming mountains and rare marine life. While years ago only the most courageous sailors would enter the sound, today it is one of the most beautifully protected bodies of water in Fiordland National Park, attracting photographers, adventurers and cruisers from all over the globe. Its mountains and cascades are more immediately eye-catching, but Doubtful Sound abounds in rich marine life that makes a trip through its waters a special treat. The ship then cruises on to Dusky Sound, one of the most complex fjords on New Zealand’s southern coast. This fjord is one of the largest in New Zealand, at 40kms in length and is a place of serene beauty, accessible today only by sea or air. European explorers first spotted this treasure when Captain Cook and his crew happened upon its opening in the late eighteenth century. Although they returned to explore its waters months later, Cook and his crew named it Dusky Sound for the time of night when they first found it. Enjoy the rest of the evening in comfort aboard your luxurious cruise ship. Wednesday, 21st November After an early breakfast we suggest you explore Dunedin which is the second-largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. As gateway to Queenstown’s many adrenaline-pumping activities and guard to the unspoiled natural habitats of the Otago Peninsula, this city, with its historic Victorian architecture, alternative collegiate vibe and outstanding outdoor recreation, stands second to none. Whether you want to peep at rare penguins, view historic buildings or take in a museum, Dunedin has it all and then some! The ship departs at 6 p.m., and after your dinner enjoy the evening performances of West-end style shows and entertainment offered daily. Thursday, 22nd November Your ship sails into Christchurch at 8 a.m. and so after your breakfast you may wish to explore largest city of the South Island. Named after a college at the University Of Oxford, England, Christchurch has a reputation for being a conservative, “British” city. This may be true on the surface, but a bit of poking around this city (population 360,000),

will reveal a vibrant arts culture and adventurous spirit that’s 100% “Kiwi”! Friday, 23rd November As the ship enters the capital city of New Zealand at 8 a.m., we suggest an early breakfast so as to have more then enough time to explore Wellington, New Zealand’s second-largest city and a walker’s paradise. Sandwiched between steep hills on one side and the ocean on the other, this city is located on the southern most point of the Northern Island. Because so much of the city is within walking distance, you’ll never feel the need to hire a cab! The fact that Wellington has become New Zealand’s fastest growing weekend destination tells you something about the city. Visit the city’s spectacular waterfront including the Te PapaTongarewa national museum. Return to the ship for a late afternoon snack and as the ship sets sail at 5 p.m. prepare for yet another dinner extravagance and wonderful evening entertainment. Saturday, 24th November Another relaxing day cruising. You may choose to check the ship’s daily programme, which amongst other activities includes a special lecture on the forthcoming port of call or perhaps a quiz or an arts and crafts class. Whatever your mood, there is almost certainly something happening every minute of the day. Sunday, 25th November Our next port of call shall be Tauranga, here we suggest you explore this northern city which has become one of New Zealand’s fastestgrowing areas thanks to plentiful sunshine and beautiful beaches. No visit to Tauranga would be complete without a trip to Mount Maunganui. This extinct volcanic peak rises from the mists of Tauranga Harbour, attracting tourists from all over New Zealand and abroad. The area, once a Maori stronghold, now houses the resort town of Maunganui, which is known for its tiled sidewalks lined with palm trees, turquoise-painted street lamps and gorgeous shoreline. Return to the ship by late afternoon as she sets sail at 6 p.m. Monday, 26th November After breakfast you may wish to disembark the ship and explore Auckland, which is by far New Zealand’s largest and most cosmopolitan city. Called the “City of the Sails” because of its beautiful location between two harbours and great weather, Auckland is a big fish on a

small island and a swank city in a rural country. You may wish to visit the Sky Tower, which is the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere, standing 328 meters, or 1,076 feet - which may not sound very tall, until you jump off it! The ship shall depart from port at 6 p.m. and so you shall have enough time to prepare for the upcoming evening. Tuesday, 27th November This morning we arrive at the Bay of Islands, our final stop. You may wish to visit one or more of the various seaside villages (landing by tender). With its warm azure waters, golden beaches and some of the bluest skies on the planet, Bay of Islands is a magnet for holiday makers! Some 150 isles, many still secluded, and a handful of coastal towns make up New Zealand’s favorite holiday haven. Waitangi is your historic hotbed imbued in Maori myth and legends. Then there’s Russell, the tranquil fishing town, Kerikeri with its wineries and orchards, and pretty Paihia, with its semi-central location - the perfect jumping-off point to everything the beautiful Bay of Islands has to offer. If swimming alongside dolphins or trawling for the catch of the day isn’t thrilling enough, take a powerboat through The Hole in The Rock. This natural passageway was crafted by salt, surf and wind. The opening is around 240 ft wide, but from a distance it looks really tiny. We set sail at 6 p.m. on the last leg of this wonderful and incredible cruise. Wednesday, 28th November Today shall be a day at sea and so an ideal day to relax and unwind! Sun worshippers may lay down on a sun-bed or deck chair by the pool lapping in the sun whilst the more active and energetic clients may enjoy the various on-board activities, games, sports activities and aerobic classes.

Thursday, 29th November This shall be our last day sailing and so you again have the opportunity to partake in the many activities organized by the ship’s animators. You may also opt to make the best from the various amenities offered on board, including gym, pools, rock climbing and many more. This evening make sure you enjoy our final day at sea and maybe dance the night away! Friday, 30th November Today we arrive in the port of Sydney at 9 a.m. This city is stylish, sophisticated, and is home to some of the friendliest people on the planet. This gateway to the Outback has it all: endless outdoor adventure around the harbor or in spots like the Blue Mountains. Golden sandy beaches named Bondi, Bilgola and Coogee. A bustling art and entertainment scene, countless museums, galleries and world-class restaurants. The Sydney Opera House is more than an architectural icon. There’s over 11 acres of floor space to cover. Take in a show or just pop in to admire its stately structure; the reception and concert halls both offer amazing views of Sydney’s sparkling harbor. And a stroll along the shoreline at sunset is a must! Return to the ship for your final evening and overnight on board this floating palace! Saturday, 01st December Breakfast is followed by disembarkation. Your coach shall then transfer you to Sydney Airport. Check-in for the Emirates flight departing for Dubai at 9.45 p.m. Sunday, 02nd December We shall arrive in Dubai at 5.20 a.m. and transit for our connecting Emirates flight to Malta, departing at 8.15 a.m. We should arrive in Malta at 1.20 p.m., certainly cherishing some wonderful memories of a truly unforgettable cruise.

With its plethora of sites to explore, its glorious harbor, excellent shopping, renowned restaurants, and some of the best nighttime skyline views in the world, Hong Kong has it all. Explore on your own, or choose from several optional shore excursions Thursday, 08th November After a lavish breakfast take a leisurely half day excursion or simply stroll the ample decks, swim, and take advantage of the many leisure activities aboard the ship. Monday, 12th November The coastal city of Da Nang serves as one of Vietnam’s most important ports. During the Vietnam War, Da Nang was home to a huge U.S. Air Force base. However, it is best known for its impressive art and architecture from the Cham Dynasty, dating from the 4th to 14th centuries. Just south of Da Nang are the Marble Mountains, five marble hills representing the elements of the universe; water, wood, fire, metal and earth. One of the mountains, Thuy Son, is honeycombed with caves containing Cham, Buddhist, and Confucian relics, pagodas, and temples. Another area attraction is China

Beach, a former U.S. recreation base, well known for its sparkling white-sand coast and excellent views of the Marble Mountains. Choose from several optional tours of Da Nang or other nearby cities such as My Son, Hoi An, or Hue Tuesday, 13th November Enjoy this day at sea as you travel to your next port of call. This is an opportunity to swim, catch some sun on deck or take advantage of the many activities that are onboard your ship. Eat heartily, take a nap and get ready for the next port of call! The rooftop bar of the Majestic Hotel gives the best bird’s eye view of the river. The main shopping street in the city is Dong Khoi Street, which is full of gift shops, tailors, jewellers and restaurants. At one end of this street are Notre Dame Cathedral and the huge central Post Office, with its enormous portrait of the former President, Ho Chi Minh. Just off this busy shopping area on Dong Du is the Saigon Central Mosque. A cyclo ride through the busy streets to the Botanical Gardens is worth it, as is a trip to the small pagodas in Cholon. Thursday, 15th November Today is your final day at sea. Use this time to indulge in the many amenities on board the ship. Curl up with a good book, or treat yourself to a luxurious spa treatment as you sail to your last destination. Friday, 16th November The Costa Victoria docks in Singapore at 8.00am. Brilliance of the seas Dubai Believe everything you’ve heard about Dubai - it truly is that incredible. Honestly, where else on earth can you ski both in a shopping mall and out in the desert? As one of the world’s fastest growing cities, Dubai has emerged as a premier luxury travel destination, drawing visitors from all over the globe. Its dry and sunny weather, incredible shopping experiences, and unique tourist attractions have helped to turn it into a bona fide hot spot where ancient and modern cultures come together.

Muscat, Oman As one of the Middle East’s oldest cities - dating back to the 2nd century AD, it’s hard to believe that Muscat has been open to tourists for only a few decades. But seeing is believing! From the beautifully manicured parks and long, unspoiled stretches of beach to the stone moat that still surrounds the area, it is clear that Oman’s monarchy has worked hard to protect the rich history and small, safe neighborhood feel of its capital city. Abu Dhabi,United Arab Emirates

Fujairah The mountainous landscape of Fujairah strikes a bold contrast with the other Emirates, which are primarily blanketed by desert. The weather is seasonal, though generally warm yearround, with an occasional rainy season in the winter months. Fajairah’s unique geography, rich history, unspoiled natural beauty, and ultra-modern urban development draw tourists and business from around the world.

Abu Dhabi The largest of the seven emirates by area, Abu Dhabi accounts for over 80% of the total land area of the United Arab Emirates. This emirate combines tranquil beaches and desert oases with some of the most vibrant city life in all the UAE. It’s hard to believe Abu Dhabi was just a quiet fishing and pearling village for centuries, but the discovery of oil has recently transformed this capital city into one of the wealthiest and safest tourist destinations in the world.

Alanya Alanya opens tourists to an immersion of Turkish culture, cuisine, and beaches. This port is often a stop of Mediterranean cruise trips because of the beaches and the rich history under various empires: the Ptolemaic Empire, Seleucid Empire, Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, and Ottoman Empire. Rhodes, Greece. The beautiful “island of Roses” has a rich and varied history. On a hill above the charming town of Lindos rises an ancient acropolis dedicated to the goddess Athena. Below lies the bay of St. Paul, where the apostle landed during his voyages. The crusading Knights of St. John left the medieval city of Rhodes behind when they were defeated by Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. Heraklion (Crete), Greece. Heraklion, the capital of Crete and its principal commercial port is just three miles away from the fantastic ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Discovered in 1899 by Sir Arthur Evans and partially reconstructed, the elaborate Palace is believed to be the mythical Labyrinth of Kind Minos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture. The Archaeological Museum in Heraklion displays many of the treasures found during the excavations.

50 Cruises 2012

Santorini, Greece. The island of Santorini is perhaps the most breathtaking of the Greek islands. The town of Fira white – washed houses, narrow streets, open – air cafes and glittering boutiques cling to steep cliffs, accessible by cable – car or mule. To the south is Akrotiri where recent Minoan excavations support the theories that Santorini might be the fabled lost continent of Atlantis. Ashdod (Jerusalem) Holy sights come thick and fast in these parts. From Ashdod, visit the awe-inspiring cities of Jerusalem and Bethlehem and see some of the world’s most impressive shrines and monuments. Venture into the holy heart of Jerusalem, where three world religions converge amidst biblical mounts and crumbling city walls. Haifa (Jerusalem) Haifa is Israel’s city by the bay. Israel’s biggest commercial port and third largest city, 300,000 people call Haifa home. Most tourists base their Israeli itineraries around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and that is understandable. But a visit to Haifa completes Israel’s picture. Only when you combine the history of Jerusalem, the modernity of Tel Aviv, and the beauty and functionality of Haifa, will you get a true sense of Israel.

Costa Atlantica Costa Atlantica is a ship devoted to the excitement, locations and emotions associated with cinema and the arts: Fellini and La Dolce Vita, Madame Butterfly, the historic Caffè Florian in Venice, Via della Spiga, the eighteenth-century Tiziano Restaurant. The ship offers a succession of surprises and attractions, starting with the immense, lively and breathtaking entrance hall. And, if you’re looking for a truly special cruise holiday, Costa Atlantica offers the opportunity to stay in Wellness cabins and suites with exclusive furnishings and maximum comfort.

Warnemunde Warnemunde has everything. The cruise terminal is next to the railway station, from where it’s under 3 hours to Berlin. Cross the station and you’re at the fishing and pleasure harbour, with stalls selling smoked fish and seaside goods and numerous bars and cafes. Walk along the old harbourside and look at the fishing boats unloading. Reach the end and you’re by a glorious long sandy beach full of the famous German wicker bathing chairs. Behind the beach the town has cafes and shops to entertain you. Talinn The story of Tallinn is a tale of three cities: an ancient citadel, the old town, and the modern city. Capital of the Estonian Republic, the coastal settlement is almost opposite Helsinki on the Gulf of Finland. The citadel, known as Toompea Castle, sits on a craggy hill peering down on a fascinating amalgam of medieval rooftops and winding cobbled streets, punctuated here and there by graceful spires and turreted towers. Around this ancient core, building continues constantly, and Tallinn today is the major industrial centre in Estonia. St Petersburg Russia’s greatest historical and cultural treasure, its “Northern Capital” - the famous “Venice of the North”. Virtually unharmed by the 1930-50s period of Stalinist reconstruction, downtown St. Petersburg is crowded with splendid palaces, impressive historical monuments, tree-lined avenues and beautiful bridges. Although not yet 300 years old, St. Petersburg is a city crammed with historical and cultural associations and a refined air of mystery.

General Conditions Holidays in the programme have been planned and are operated by Orange Cruises (owned and operated by Orange Travel Group) hereby referred to as “the Company” and / or “the Tour Operator”. To ensure maximum client satisfaction, we want you to enjoy your holiday to the full and return both satisfied and relaxed, and above all, convinced that you have been given good value for money. The General Conditions have been laid out to ensure that the deal between the Tour Operator and the client is clear and fair to both parties. These conditions cover virtually every aspect of your holiday from the moment you book to the moment you arrive back home. As we want everyone to know where they stand with us, the General Conditions clearly spell out our obligations to you and your commitments to us when you book a holiday with us from our brochure. OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU 1. Your Reservation Once you have completed and signed the booking form and paid your deposit of €700 per cabin on and have been issued a receipt by your travel agent, the booking is taken as confirmed and it is understood that you have read and accepted the accompanying terms and conditions. We will reserve your holiday. Your booking is also taken to be confirmed in respect of all persons travelling in your party. 2. Our Price Policy Prices in this brochure are valid at the time of publication. It is possible that at the time of booking, the actual price of your chosen holiday may have increased from that shown in the brochure which we reserve the right to do. We guarantee that the price of your holiday will not be subject to any surcharge whatsoever. Once you have made your booking and paid a deposit, then the cost of your holiday cannot be increased, except in the case of substantial currency fluctuations and/or increase of taxes or levies and/or aircraft fuel increases imposed by airlines. A service charge of 3% of the cost of the holiday is being levied. The amount is included at the end of each programme together with the taxes. Prices for children are applicable for children under 12 years of age that are sharing with 2 adults. 3. Our Assurance on Standards and Assumption of Liability Our brochure descriptions are based on the information obtained from hoteliers and other service producers themselves. Hotel rooms and ship cabins are always small, (sometimes very small). The Tour Operator only work with hotels & vessels having single or twin/double bedded rooms. A room/ cabin for 2 passengers may either consist of two separate beds or a matrimonial bed (which can also mean two beds pushed together irrespective of gender). Triple or quadruple bedded rooms are never available. A third or a fourth person wanting to share a twin/double bedded room, will most probably be given either a small extra folding ‘camp’ bed, a bunk bed, or a sofa bed, which will make accommodation quite uncomfortable. In America three or four persons wanting to share a room will always be given just two matrimonial beds, (separate beds for each person are not available). When two persons book a room for two, the Tour Operator reserves the right to either provide two separate beds or a large matrimonial bed. All hotels provided are not air-conditioned and no fans will be provided, not even during extreme heat waves, (unless clearly specified in the programme). Breakfast is only provided when specified and when provided is always continental unless specified. Lunches and dinners are always served on three courses. No choice of food will be provided; neither changes can be accepted (e.g. having meat instead of fish). Portions served are always small/moderate in size. When buffet meals are provided a choice is available. Drinks, including water, during meals are always to be paid extra. Use of minibar, telephone and T.V. in rooms is also chargeable to the client. Unless clearly specified all entrance fees to museums and shows, boat trips, metro or cable car are always extra. All optional excursions are extra and unless clearly specified they only include transportation costs by coach, entrances are extra and no local guides are provided. An optional excursion will only be operated if the minimum number of paying participants reaches 25 adults; if not the Tour Operator will have the right not to operate the said excursion and will be under no obligation to compensate the Client/s for not operating the said optional excursion; furthermore the Client/s cannot cancel their planned group tour or cruise because one or more excursions could not be operated due to either lack of bookings or for some other technical reason which is beyond the Tour Operator’s control. Prices are clearly marked in the ‘price box’, at the end of each programme. Only items listed under ‘Price includes’ are included in the package price. Please remember that brochures are produced months in advance and there may be occasions when an advertised facility or entertainment is not available during your particular holiday, especially if it is out of high season. Bad weather, essential maintenance or cleaning, lack of support or demand may all effect the actual availability of particular activities or facilities; So, for instance, can such things as local licensing laws, religious or local holidays, or local authority or governmental restrictions. Similarly, touring itineraries may have to be changed sometimes at short notice, due to weather, road or traffic conditions, mechanical breakdowns, police activity etc. Coaches are not air-conditioned (except when clearly specified on a programme) and do not have onboard functional toilet facilities. Swimming pools may only be heated in colder weather and the general standard of hygiene, public utilities, drainage, plumbing and services in general may not be the same standards as in Malta. Each group tour is escorted by either a Maltese or an English speaking tour leader who will be responsible for the implementation of the programme according to the brochure. The tour leader is under no circumstance responsible to carry out work (unless for emergency), over and above the official programme and is not obliged to accompany members of the group around shops, flea markets or theme parks. Cruise companies reserve the right to change the itinerary due to bad weather or industrial action, in which case neither the cruise company nor the Tour Operator are liable to pay any form of compensation for the missed ports or the change of programme. If any portion of holiday is cost due to natural disasters, bad weather, industrial action, war, government restrictions or any matter of force majeure, neither Orange Cruises nor its subcontractors can be held liable to pay compensation or for damages incurred. As a responsible Company we feel it only right to point out these possibilities, however unlikely. If you

have a particular problem, please inform the hotel reception desk and/or our representative in writing at the time so that, if possible, it can be dealt with there and then. Having said all that, we want to give the following assurance about our liability to you:- We have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that proper arrangements have been made for all the holidays which are advertised in this brochure. You will appreciate, however, that we have no direct control over the provision of services to you by suppliers.
