TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE AND CONNECTED DURING A MOVE (NAPSI) — Planning a move can be stressful, but planning a move in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic brings a new set of challenges. Stay safe and connected with some smart pre-move planning; here are some tips: Follow Approved Protocols — If you can’t postpone your move, take extra precautions before moving in to ensure your new place is clean. Follow general disinfecting guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Among other surfaces, disinfect doors, door handles, bathrooms, kitchen appliances, countertops and—something many people don’t really think about—cabinet and doorknobs as well as light switches. Safely Stay Connected — New work-from-home protocols and online schooling mean reliable Internet connectivity is more important than ever. Prior to your move, SmartMove can connect you to your local provider and help arrange new Touchless Installs that let you safely connect your tech services yourself. Cable companies deliver equipment with step-by-step activation information so you can set up your system on your own, or with support over the phone, online, through chat functionality or video tutorials. In most cases, no technician will need to enter your home. Keep in Touch & Maintain Daily Routines — You may be staying in more, but don’t forget to take a break from unpacking boxes. Use your new online connection to find delivery services to help stock your pantry and fridge and refill prescriptions. Your new house will feel more like home if you take time to watch your favorite shows, maintain your exercise program or explore online courses that can help you discover new talents or resume old hobbies. Don’t forget to connect with friends through group video chats or viewing parties—you can even take your friends and family on a virtual tour of your new place! GVPENNYSAVER.COM 1-866-812-8111

HI! This is

Why the U.S. Ban on Dog Imports?

PUPPY PALACE Full Grooming Services

Delta is a German Shepherd and English Shepherd mix that was adopted. She has an older brother who doesn’t know if he likes her yet. But she’s starting to win him over with her amazing personality! She loves to play with her toys and is learning basic commands quite fast. She is so thankful her humans adopted her.

DEAR PAW’S CORNER: I’ve been

PET OBESITY IS A GROWING PROBLEM Many pet owners would never intentionally harm their companion animals. In fact, pet owners often go above and beyond to ensure their animals are well cared for and content. However, many well-meaning people may be inadvertently harming their pets with something they provide each and every day: food. Obesity is on the rise among pets. The Association for Pet Obesity Prevention says that 54 percent of dogs and 59 percent of cats in the United States were categorized as overweight or obese in 2016. That marks an increase from 52.5 percent and 58.3 percent, respectively, from four years ago. The majority of veterinarians think that pet obesity is a significant problem and nearly half of pet owners admit that their vets have discussed a pet’s ideal weight with them during pet health visits.

working for months to purchase a purebred dog located in Ukraine. Today, the transaction was put on hold by the breeder, who said that dog imports are being banned by the U.S. What is going on? -- Nadiya in NYC

LVMMATERIALS LLC

DEAR NADIYA: What happened is that dogs are being imported into the U.S. with rabies certificates that are fraudulent. After at least 450 imported dogs were found to have fake certificates, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention took action in June and temporarily banned the import of dogs from more than 100 countries* with a high rabies risk, including Ukraine, for at least one year. According to the CDC’s official notice, in 2020 it identified a significant increase in the number of imported dogs that were denied entry into the U.S. from high-risk countries. Due to reduced flight schedules, dogs denied entry are facing longer wait times to be returned to their country of departure, leading to illness and even death. Why did the number of fraudulent rabies certificates rise so quickly? In a word, the pandemic. During lockdown, demand for dogs (and cats) soared. Worried about the risk of animals being abandoned when their owners went back to the office, many shelters drastically raised fees and other requirements for adoption. Demand for imported dogs rose. Unfortunately, there are no options for those who intend to purchase or adopt a dog from one of these countries. If you try to import the dog anyway, or even hand-carry it across the border, it will be denied entry and shipped back home at your expense. It’s a bummer, but necessary to reduce the risk of rabies spreading in the U.S. *For a map showing banned countries, go to www.statista.com and search for “CDC bans dog imports.” To read the official notice, go to www.cdc.gov and search for “high-risk dog ban.”

HOW TO KEEP DOGS SAFE AND CONTENT Begin with training. One of the best things a pet owner can do for the wellbeing of a his or her dog is to ensure that it receives proper training from a young age. According to VetWest Animal Hospital experts, statistics show that owners who have pets that behave get more satisfaction and have stronger bonds with their pets. A dog that responds to basic commands can stay out of danger, and knowing what he is supposed to do can help the dog feel less stressed.

Prevent summer sun and heat damage to your car Clean out your “stuff.” The heat can cause items inside vehicles to melt or explode. Depending on the product, a lot of staining or damage can occur if items melt or explode inside a car. Wax-based products can be particularly harmful. Be wary of leaving lipstick, crayons, candles, lip balms, sunscreen, and lotions inside vehicles on hot days. In addition, remove canned carbonated beverages and other canned items to reduce likelihood of spills.

HOMETOWN

A BELOVED DOG, A STOLEN CAR AND... A HAPPY ENDING (NAPSI)—It started out as a normal day for Mary Harrison—until she briefly left her car running outside of her home with her shih tzu Molly in the backseat and went inside for just a second. When she came back outside, however, her car—and Molly—were gone. She called Verizon to see if her phone could help track her car, and a Verizon customer service representative saved the day. “When Mary called in, I was taken aback with her car and dog being stolen,” said the tech expert who answered the call. “I really felt for her. I work at home and my two dogs are at my feet all day.” They pulled up Harrison’s account and saw that she had a Hum by Verizon device in her car. Hum is a vehicle diagnostic system from Verizon Connect. It takes the guesswork out of driving with connected car technology, so you can stay in touch with emergency services and your loved ones on the road. For instance, if Hum detects a crash, it can notify emergency services and send help your way. With Hum’s vehicle diagnostics feature you can check your car’s health from your phone and detect issues before you go. You can also schedule maintenance reminders and Hum will text or e-mail you when it’s time for a tune-up or an oil change. And if your car is stolen, as in Mary’s case, Hum can send your car’s location to local law enforcement. “I knew with Hum there was a lot we could do to help her. I pulled up the step-by-step troubleshooting guide to reset her password and bring up the vehicle’s location on her phone. As soon as she saw the car on her phone, she started to cry.”

The car was not far from Harrison’s home. She could have walked there, but the customer service representative advised her to stay safe, call the police, and recover the car together. When Harrison got to the car, her dog was still there, safe inside.

SPORTS • EVENTS CELEBRATIONS VACATIONS

“It made me feel great to be able to help her,” the customer service representative said. “I know that if it were my dog in the car, that would be my biggest concern, too. I wouldn’t even care about my car or my stuff, just getting my dog back safely. I was so impressed by how quickly and accurately Hum found her car. It’s awesome that we have this great technology available.”

ENJOYING THRILLS AT AMUSEMENT PARKS One of the more beloved ways for thrill-seekers to spend a day off is to visit an amusement park. Amusement parks take many shapes. Some may be small, traveling carnivals, while others are large parks that draw visitors from all over the country. Amusement parks typically feature hair-raising rides, games of skill, tasty food, and gift shops. That means there’s something for everyone. Although they may seem like a relatively modern concept, amusement parks, fairs and carnivals actually have storied histories. In fact, historians say that carnivals and local fairs have been around since the Middle Ages. According to History.com, amusement parks, once dubbed “pleasure gardens” and “trolly parks,” sprung up across the United States and Europe in the 19th century.

DID YOU KNOW? Men and women often make an effort to lose weight before special events such as weddings or vacations. While many people do so in healthy ways, others take their weight loss efforts to the extreme. For example, many brides-to-be aspire to shed excess weight before their weddings so they can look as slim as possibly in their wedding gowns. The New York Times even reported in 2012 on a bride who spent eight days on a feeding tube to strictly limit calories so she could fit into her wedding dress. Such efforts are dangerous and could put individuals’ long-term health in serious jeopardy. Healthy weight loss for any occasion requires a long lead time, so that individuals can safely shed between one and two pounds per week with a healthy mix of diet and exercise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Trimming between 500 and 1,000 calories per day from their diets can help individuals lose weight safely.

We Care About

TO YOUR GOOD HEALTH By Keith Roach, M.D.

Your Smiles

Paraplegic Battles UTIs

by Dr. Steve Sokolovskiy

GOOD FOR YOUR TEETH, BAD FOR YOUR BREATH The Keto diet can be great for oral health because it is low in sugar and simple carbohydrates (which become sugar when they are digested). Everyone knows that sugar is not good for teeth since it can cause cavities and loss of enamel. It also leads to more bacteria developing on the teeth and gums. Unfortunately, the Keto diet can also result in a problem called ‘keto breath,’ which is bad breath caused by the new abundance of ketones being produced by the liver. Luckily, this is only temporary, and as the body adjusts and acclimates to this new wealth of ketones, the ‘dragon breath’ should begin to subside. This usually happens within a month of starting the keto diet.

If you are bothered by this condition, don’t be shy about discussing bad breath with your dentist. Professional care is always the best course to pursue when unusual symptoms occur. We’re here at BATAVIA FAMILY DENTAL to offer our patients comprehensive, gentle, family dentistry, including dietary advice, routine maintenance care, restorative work, and cosmetic approaches to enhance any smile. All our staff members are exceptional in their care of every patient who comes through our doors. Please call us for an appointment (585.343.4246) at 6 Batavia City Centre.

P.S. Those experiencing ‘keto breath’ from a new diet can fight it by drinking lots of water and brushing after every meal to prevent bacteria from building up.

www.bataviafamilydental.com Safeguard yourself from summertime ailments and accidents Lawn and garden injuries: Lawn and garden injuries may not be common, but men, women and children should exercise caution when using lawn and garden equipment. Wear protective shoes and gloves and safety goggles. Remember to turn off any motorized tools before attempting to repair or unclog the blades.

DEAR DR. ROACH: I am a paraplegic due to a spinal cord injury back in 1979. I battle one UTI after another, and I am becoming immune to most antibiotics. Why the constant infections? My urologist just ordered a CT scan, but seems uninterested in me as a patient. I am sick of being sick. I straight catheterize four times a day usually. It’s getting very hard for them to match the antibiotic to the culture. At times the infections are so bad I get “foggy headed.” These times I am in misery. The last time I went to the ER hoping it wasn’t sepsis. They gave me antibiotics. I can’t keep running to the ER. My copays are too much. Maybe I need a doctor who specializes in working with people who have a spinal cord injury. -- Anon. ANSWER: Regular drainage of the bladder with a “straight catheter” is the most effective way to reduce the risk of urine infections in a person with a spinal cord injury, but it is not perfect. People may still get bacteria in the bladder. Although it may be worthwhile to review your catheterization technique with an expert, it’s possible to get infections even with perfect technique. You haven’t become immune to antibiotics, but the frequent use of powerful antibiotics will make you colonized with resistant bacteria, so that if you do get an infection, it’s likely to be with a difficult-totreat organism. The CT scan is a good idea to see whether there is an anatomic reason for recurrent (or persistent) infections. I am disappointed to hear your urologist does not seem to be doing his or her best for you. Recurrent infections are dangerous. Becoming foggy headed is a sign of serious systemic infection, and sepsis (a dysfunctional body response to infection) is life-threatening. Some people take antibiotics to prevent infection. Often, these are rotated to reduce resistance. A urologist experienced in spinal cord injury, perhaps in consultation with an infectious disease doctor, would be ideal. ***

THREE WAYS TO RELIEVE ARTHRITIS PAIN

A problem with pills is that many of them come with side effects that can be severe, especially if the medications are used in greater quantities or for longer than they’re supposed to be. That’s one reason for back, muscle and joint pains, I believe it’s best to start with topicals. What’s more, the Centers for Disease Control, the American College of Rheumatology and other medical experts agree it’s a safer approach.

• • • • • • • •

West Batavia Rentals will empty and auction on or before July 19th, 2021 all items from unit #151, belonging to TENANT: LISA WORTHINGTON for nonpayment of rent.

Fortunately, if you are an arthritis sufferer and want effective relief, there are two topicals that are FDA approved the same way Ibuprofen, Naproxen Sodium and other prescription pain medicines have been through the demanding new drug application process. While both help relieve arthritis pain, it is important to know the differences between Salonpas Pain Relief Patch Large and Voltaren Arthritis Pain gel.

585-703-8619

Holnbeck Electric

The

Salonpas Pain Relief Patch Large was the 1st topical approved by the FDA and provides relief for up to 12 hours. It begins to work in one hour and can provide clinically meaningful pain relief in the first day. Since it is a patch, the medicine is pre-measured and easy to apply. Not only does this patch help relieve arthritis pain, but it also works for back, muscle and joint pain as well.

On the other hand, Voltaren Arthritis Pain gel is not labeled for immediate relief and may take up to 7 days to help achieve relief. To apply this gel, you must first measure out an amount based on a dosing card. Voltaren is effective for up to 6 hours and should only be used for arthritis pain.

In addition to topical relief, joint and muscle pain can be treated with physical therapy. It can keep stiff joints from getting stiffer, reduce strain on joints during daily activities and help you get back to normal life without pain or difficulty.

Also helpful are hot and cold compresses. Heat is good for joint stiffness and cold compresses can ease joint pain. Just remember, don’t apply heat to a joint that’s already hot. If you feel a burning sensation in your joint, cool it with the cold compresses.

(NAPSI) — Over the course of my career as a physician, chief medical correspondent and war correspondent, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of pain management drugs and approaches. One thing I’ve seen is that the United States is much more reliant on taking pills for pain than the rest of the world, where topical analgesics, physical therapy and other approaches are more widely used.

NOW HERE’S A TIP By JoAnn Derson

Golisano Foundation Awards Additional Funds to Wyoming County SPCA

* Keep a pretty basket by your front door for anything you need to take along when you leave. This can be store returns, backpacks, exercise gear for the gym, your sunglasses, whatever. When you leave the house, check the basket! * “Necklaces can be stored together without tangling if you thread each one through a straw. You can cut the straw to a shorter length for choker-length necklaces or bracelets. No knots!” -- I.A. in Arizona * If you have a little bit of touchup paint left in your gallon can, transfer it to a mason jar. Write the exact color and brand on the lid, and it will be much easier to store. * “Our basement was dark and a little claustrophobic. My husband painted it a lovely sunny yellow and that helped, but it needed something else. I took a photo of the spectacular view at our son’s house in Montana, and had the photo blown up. We mounted it on the wall with some dummy curtains! It’s perfect, and it reminds me of him.” -- R.W. in New York * Need to chill a bottle of wine quickly? Wet a kitchen towel, then wrap it around the wine. Twist the ends to secure, and put the whole thing in the freezer for 30 minutes. * Great ways to remove stuck labels: nail polish remover (NOT for use on plastics), WD-40 oil, soaking in hot water, rubbing alcohol.

“Kitty Nursery” will soon be installed at the Wyoming County SPCA, thanks to a $5,000 Golisano Foundation grant through Bailey and Friends, a division of the Golisano Foundation. According to Julie Long, President WCSPCA, the grant partially funds the purchase of the nursery. Total cost of the unit is $6,151. The SPCA will announce a fund-raising event to pay for the balance of the cost. “The nursery will provide a safe place for the tiniest of kittens—those under three to four weeks old— until they are sturdy enough and steady enough to be safe in a conventional housing unit. The unit follows what’s known as a ‘Fear Free’ design, with soft closures, vertical bars on the doors and warm fiberglass construction. This design will give the mother and babies a quiet, comfortable place for the babies to begin their journey through life,” elaborated Long. The organization has approved the final drawings, and plans to have the completed nursery delivered by September of this year. Remarkably, this winter many animals found their forever homes, largely because COVID stay-at-home mandates gave homebound families more time at home to train and care for a pet. Currently however, the shelter is at maximum capacity with kittens and adult cats that are ready for adoption now and in the future. The shelter, which has been open by appointment during COVID, is now open for walk in visits Thursdays 1-4 PM and Saturday 1-4 PM and other afternoons by appointment. In order to serve the public better the shelter is currently seeking afternoon volunteers in order to have two staffers in the center during open hours. If you wish to volunteer with WCSPCA, apply online at www.wyomingcountyspca.org. The shelter is located at 808 Creek Road in Attica. The grant from Bailey and Friends will help Wyoming County SPCA fund the resources needed to maintain the high standards of safety and care for its animals, particularly critical now, as this time of year is the season for newborn kittens. Bailey and Friends, named for Tom Golisano’s rescue dog Bailey, is dedicated to supporting animal welfare in Western New York and Southwest Florida. This new initiative, launched in 2019, is committed to working with shelters, rescue groups, veterinary clinics and other lifesaving programs to promote wellness, ensure safety and keep family and pets together. Wyoming County SPCA, founded in 1905, is funded solely by donations, fundraisers and grants. It is the only shelter in Wyoming County that has the capacity to house and care for both dogs and cats and the only shelter that spays or neuters and microchips all animals before they leave the facility. WCSPCA is a non-profit organization operated largely by volunteers.

Cut the blood sausage into 12 slices. Sauté the mushrooms in olive oil with garlic, salt and pepper for 5 minutes. Add the wine and cook for 2 more minutes. Boil the peas for 2 minutes and drain. When mushrooms are done, remove from heat and stir in the peas. In a cast-iron skillet, sear the morcilla in a dry pan for 2 minutes per side. Arrange the slices of morcilla down the middle of a platter. Surround with mushroom/pea mixture and drizzle the plate with the mint oil. For the mint oil: In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat olive oil to warm. Remove from heat and add the mint and a small pinch of salt. Allow to rest for 1 hour. Drain through a sieve. Reserve extra mint oil for other uses, such as vinaigrette.

REDUCE YOUR RISK OF STROKE (NAPSI)—An estimated 2.7 million Americans are living with a condition that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. Fortunately, a leading health organization is working to help these individuals reduce their risk of developing such dangerous conditions. Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is defined as a quivering or irregular heartbeat. Often, strokes that occur for no known cause can be linked to AFib, which a person may not even be aware they have.

The American Heart Association (AHA)—the world’s leading voluntary health organization dedicated to being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives—wants all people living with AFib to understand how they can reduce their risk of cardiac complications. “AFib can have symptoms such as an irregular-feeling heartbeat, shortness of breath and light-headedness or it can have no symptoms at all. Even if you are not experiencing symptoms of AFib, your stroke risk is still increased five-fold,” says Patrick Ellinor, M.D., Ph.D., cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. Health care providers score a patient’s risk of a stroke caused by AFib by taking into account such factors as age, sex, and pre-existing conditions including hypertension, diabetes, vascular disease, and prior stroke or ischemic attack. “If you suspect you have AFib, meet with your doctor. AFib can be managed, helping you avoid stroke and live a longer, healthier life,” adds Ellinor. The AHA offers a free online community for those diagnosed with AFib, My Afib Experience. The initiative was made possible by an educational grant from the Bristol Myers Squibb and Pfizer Alliance. To learn more, visit www.heart.org/afibawareness. GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

SENIOR NEWS By Matilda Charles

No, Life Has Not Returned to Normal A recent survey concluded that we seniors are ready to go back out into the world, to resume our former pre-COVID activities. I suspect the poll questions weren’t asked of seniors in my part of New England. We are not, for the most part, ready to get back to what we were doing before. We learned to talk to family and friends on internet conferences and managed the software quite well. We explored new hobbies with materials that arrived by mail since we weren’t going into stores. We mastered complicated recipes (with ingredients picked up curbside at the grocery), and we renewed our interest in chess and other games, playing online. We explored parts of our state we hadn’t seen before because we could safely drive around -- as long as we didn’t get out of the car. Our senior center is still holding the men’s Monday lunch in the parking lot, socially distanced, of course. The French language class still isn’t meeting because it didn’t work out well trying to hear and speak French while spaced out across the parking lot with cars going by. The art classes are still done remotely because it’s difficult to do watercolor painting outside with the breeze blowing, and no one is ready to go inside the building. A few fast phone calls revealed that, no, the American Legion hall still isn’t open. The auto dealership is trying to restrict potential buyers to test driving only three cars because each one has to be sanitized after customers take one out for a spin. The deli on Main Street is still taking orders only at the front window and doesn’t know when it will open for indoor eating. If a poll were done here, I suspect it would conclude that, no, we’re not ready to come out yet. (c) 2021 King Features Synd., Inc.

Bravo, Teachers! I would like to recognize Alexander CSD teachers, essential staffing and all employees for the amazing job done during a challenging and uncertain school year resulting from COVID. Without your dedication and flexibility, our children would have suffered. Your efforts do not go unrecognized by the community. Thank you for all you do for the children! E. W.

Regarding a recently published article regarding proper display of the flag— I have some additional information to add to that. The flag should not be displayed at night unless lighted, nor should it be displayed during “inclement weather.” The flag should be properly disposed of when damaged or worn out (contact your Legion for details). The entire code is available on the American Legion website. Also, no drawings should be done on the US flag. This, to me, includes the superimposing of various images, animals, sports insignia, human portraits, etc. Also, personally, the use of the flag as a political statement and changing the colors on the flag is disrespectful. This is not the flag for which millions have made the ultimate sacrifice. If one wishes to show support for another organization, all of them have insignia that could be displayed on a plain banner.

Petty Rant Shame on you for your rant against our law enforcement officers. Those parking laws are in place in case of a fire or terrorism incident, and it doesn’t matter if the building is vacant. Do you think our police officers can choose which laws to enforce and when to enforce them? It’s all about public safety. Be a good citizen and follow the rules.

Neighbor’s Noisy Truck In the [local] area we have a neighbor with his very large truck that he revs out loudly on purpose and goes down the road all hours of the day and night. It’s extremely loud, and we are all afraid someone will get hit eventually. Everyone complains, but it just goes on and on. Please be considerate of your neighbors. The village is not the place for the noise or speeding, especially when you are by a school.

Hamlin Post Office I want to say that I appreciate the attention and service I get from the employees when I go in for my stamps. Sherry was kind enough to put my stamps in a large plastic sleeve to keep my five books of stamps together. It really came in handy with the large number of stamps that I purchased. With all that is going on in the world we live in, it is always nice to be treated kindly. Hamlin Post Office is the best!

DECOR IDEAS TO GIVE HOMES A FRESH LOOK THIS SPRING HOST A SUCCESSFUL YARD SALE

STAFFORD: ESTATE SALE at 6623 Sweetland Rd. Thurs. July 29, Fri. July 30, and Sat. July 31, 2021 from 8am-4pm each day. Please no early birds. Items available: model cars (various scales), vintage toys, decorative items, TV, movies, car related items, lawn mowers, ceramic vases, furniture, and more.

YARD SALE TIPS Shop with a plan. If you are looking for something specific, you have the best chance of finding it by shopping early. For the best bargains, shopping toward the end of the sales may garner some deep discounts.

Instead of giving away unwanted items that have gathered dust around the house, many people turn to garage and yard sales to transform their clutter into some extra money. Yard sales may not be a “get rich quick” scheme, but they present an environmentally friendly way to clean up a home. What’s more, they can be an ideal way to connect with neighbors and meet new people. Any money earned is an added bonus. Statistics collecting resource Statistics Brain says that roughly 165,000 yard/garage sales take place in the United States each week. Nearly 700,000 people purchase something at those sales, leading to millions of dollars exchanging hands.

PASTEL COLORS: Nothing embodies the spring quite like pastel colors. If colorful, bright flowers dot the garden in the backyard, homeowners can bring those uplifting pastels inside by painting an accent wall or even adding some brightly colored accent furniture to rooms that could use a lift.

WOMEN AND STEM

• Electricians • Process Control Technician • 2nd Shift Case and Label Mechanic • 1st & 2nd Shift Machine Operators • 1st & 2nd Shift Forklift Operators • Maintenance Supervisor • Parts Room Attendant

The number of women entering the professional fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) is slowly growing around the world, but there is still a sizable gender gap in these professions. According to the College Board, which produces many standardized tests, only 27 percent of all students taking the AP Computer Science exam in the United Science are women. Similarly, just 18 percent of American computerscience degrees are attained by females. However, this is not the case elsewhere in the world. A paper by Gijsbert Stoet and David Geary published in Psychological Science noted that women who live in countries with traditionally higher gender inequality tend to choose STEM professions more readily. Algeria, for example, has one of the highest ratios of women in STEM professions, at 41 percent. Stoet and Geary surmise that women in these countries may be choosing careers with the strongest path to financial independence. According to a U.S. Department of Education report, students studying science or math in college have a higher employment rate and salary than other majors after graduation. STEM majors typically earn an average of $15,500 more annually than nonSTEM majors. Engineering and engineering technology tends to pay the most. Women eager to secure competitive, stable and well-paying jobs should carefully consider the opportunities available to them in STEM fields.
