SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY Shopping local is more important than ever this year! Unique, local goods await in deliberately uncrowded shops, which give you the space and time you need to browse. Shoppers can also choose the convenience of curbside pick-up for their community-friendly purchases, often with a “touchless” option. So, move over, Amazon! Local business owners, our friends and neighbors, are once again open and more convenient than ever.
community, compared to the zero to $0.01 returned with an online retailer.
Need a little more convincing? Check out these stats!
• Finally, local businesses are much more likely to be customers of local service providers, including accountants, wholesalers, farmers, lawyers, contractors, grocers, printers, plumbers, welders, electricians, and more!
• Each dollar you spend purchasing from a local, independent business returns at least $0.65 to your local
• Online big-box retailers sometimes force local companies out of business. In return, with fewer businesses to offset community costs, local tax burdens fall increasingly on community residents. • Displaced corporate businesses donate less than half as much per sales dollar to local non-profits, events and teams compared to small businesses.
Get in on the Cyber Monday action and keep your dollars local when you visit us at GVPennySaver.com! Local businesses have just the gifts, services, and goods you are looking for this holiday season! HOW TO SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON Shop online. Online shopping has traditionally been dominated by big box retailers. However, many small businesses increased their e-commerce capabilities to generate revenue. Shoppers concerned about shopping in person this holiday season should explore the delivery and curbside pickup options available at locally owned small businesses. Even businesses that have not traditionally been allowed to deliver, such as breweries and wineries, have been able to do so during the outbreak, giving consumers unlimited online shopping options.

“ Ever since the Christmas of ‘53, I have felt that the yuletide is a special hell for those families w ho have suffered any loss or w ho must admit to any imperfection; the so-called spirit of giving can be as greedy as receiving--Christmas is our time to be aw are of w hat w e lack, of w ho’s not home.” - John Irving, A Prayer for Ow en M eany
Black Friday reinvented The retail industry started using the term “Black Friday” in the late 1980s. Spin doctors turned previously negative connotations into positive ones by associating the phrase with stores turning a profit and moving accounting ledgers from “red to black” thanks to big year-end sales. Retailers and consumers rallied around low-cost “doorbusters” and other discounted prices. Interestingly enough, according to the National Retail Federation, Black Friday really hasn’t been the most lucrative day for retailers over the years. In fact, greater profits and larger crowds are often seen on the last Saturday preceeding Christmas.

I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. ~Charles Dickens

Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes. Some built Christmas pyramids of wood and decorated them with evergreens and candles if wood was scarce. It is a widely held belief that Martin Luther, the 16th-century Protestant reformer, first added lighted candles to a tree. Walking toward his home one winter evening, composing a sermon, he was awed by the brilliance of stars twinkling amidst evergreens. To recapture the scene for his family, he erected a tree in the main room and wired its branches with lighted candles.

MAKE THE MOST OF LIMITED SPACE Reconsider your furniture. Furniture can make rooms feel cozy, cramped or spacious. For homeowners with limited space in their homes, furniture that also can be used as storage can save space without sacrificing comfort. For the bedroom, choose a storage bed if the quarters are cramped and it’s difficult to find space for two dressers. Such beds also can be used to store bed linens if closet space is limited. Purchase storage ottomans and/or end tables with storage beneath to make living areas feel less cramped.
STORING TOOLS PROPERLY Keep original cases and labels. Many tools come in hard cases to protect the tools and reduce users’ injury risk. Paints, varnishes, stripping agents, and other chemicals should be stored in their original containers with labels intact.

STRANGE BUT TRUE By Lucie Winborne * Doctors who perform laparoscopic surgery, which involves inserting a tiny camera into a patient’s body through a small incision, have better coordination if they play video games at least three hours per week. According to a 2003 study, gamer surgeons made 37% fewer errors and worked 27% faster than those whose only “video game” experience was the surgery itself.

ROOFING & SIDING
Homeowners may associate mulch with springtime lawn and garden care, but mulching in fall can benefit a lawn as well. According to the Morton Arboretum in Illinois, mulch protects roots against extreme temperatures, and not just those associated with summer heat waves. Mulch is often connected with its ability to help soil retain moisture during especially warm times of the year, when mulch promotes strong roots that can help lawns and plants survive periods of extreme heat. But when applied in the fall, mulch also inhibits freezing and thawing in winter, reducing the likelihood that plants will be injured.

ROLL-OFF
MILLWORK CAN ADD APPEAL & A CLASSIC FEEL Used for both decoration and to increase the functionality of buildings, millwork comes in various types. Generally, millwork is fabricated in two ways. Stock millwork tends to be mass-produced commercial items. These low-cost items are interchangeable and may be widely available at retailers, including home improvement centers. Custom millwork is a product that is custom designed and produced for individuals and special building projects. Sometimes referred to as “architectural millwork,” these pieces may be more ornate and made-to-order. Homeowners who want to match a focal point of a home or an existing style often turn to custom millwork. GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

STRANGE BUT TRUE By Lucie Winborne * “Prison Inside Me” is a hotel of sorts in South Korea where people pay to be locked away in solitary confinement for 24 hours. “Jail mates” wear matching uniforms, sleep on the floor in 54-square-foot cells and are forbidden to speak to each other. Meals are minimal -- a steamed sweet potato and banana shake for dinner and rice porridge for breakfast. Like any good getaway, the prison stay comes with a souvenir: a certificate of parole upon completing one’s stint in solitary confinement! GENESEE VALLEY PENNY SAVER

TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE AND CONNECTED DURING A MOVE (NAPSI) — Planning a move can be stressful, but planning a move in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic brings a new set of challenges. Stay safe and connected with some smart pre-move planning; here are some tips: Follow Approved Protocols — If you can’t postpone your move, take extra precautions before moving in to ensure your new place is clean. Follow general disinfecting guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Among other surfaces, disinfect doors, door handles, bathrooms, kitchen appliances, countertops and—something many people don’t really think about—cabinet and doorknobs as well as light switches. Safely Stay Connected — New work-from-home protocols and online schooling mean reliable Internet connectivity is more important than ever. Prior to your move, SmartMove can connect you to your local provider and help arrange new Touchless Installs that let you safely connect your tech services yourself. Cable companies deliver equipment with step-by-step activation information so you can set up your system on your own, or with support over the phone, online, through chat functionality or video tutorials. In most cases, no technician will need to enter your home. Keep in Touch & Maintain Daily Routines — You may be staying in more, but don’t forget to take a break from unpacking boxes. Use your new online connection to find delivery services to help stock your pantry and fridge and refill prescriptions. Your new house will feel more like home if you take time to watch your favorite shows, maintain your exercise program or explore online courses that can help you discover new talents or resume old hobbies. Don’t forget to connect with friends through group video chats or viewing parties—you can even take your friends and family on a virtual tour of your new place!

MINIMIZE DARK CIRCLES UNDER THE EYES Genetics may be the biggest culprit in undereye circles. Some people simply inherit fair or thin skin around the eyes. This can make blood that pools in these areas (from stretched or broken capillaries) more visible. While a person cannot change his or her skin tone, gently washing one’s face - paying careful attention to the sensitive eye area - can help reduce damage. Also, getting more sleep can increase circulation to this area and prevent blood pooling.

with atrial fibrillation. Doctors tried an electrical cardioversion, but it came back after a few days. She is taking metoprolol and Eliquis. We have read about the supplements red clover, turmeric, omega-3 and hawthorn. Should she discontinue the pharmaceuticals and take supplements instead? -- J.C. ANSWER: Please don’t do that, and let me explain why. Atrial fibrillation is an abnormal heart rhythm. The goal of treating it is first to relieve symptoms, such as fast heart rate and dizziness, and second, to reduce the risk of stroke. Blood clots can form inside the heart when the atria are fibrillating (a chaotic, non-coordinated muscle movement). Those clots can break off and go into the blood vessels of the brain, causing cell death and loss of function in that part of the brain. That’s a stroke. Your wife is taking metoprolol to slow the heart rate. Atrial fibrillation causes the ventricles to go too fast, causing a sensation of fast heart rate and palpitations. Metoprolol, a beta blocker, protects the heart from damage from a too-fast heart rate, in addition to relieving symptoms. Apixaban (Eliquis) is a powerful anticoagulant, reducing the risk of clot formation. Red clover is usually used in herbal medicine for its estrogen-like activities. Unfortunately, estrogens INCREASE clot risk, so this herbal medicine absolutely should not be used by someone at risk for clots. Sweet clover hay is the source of warfarin (Coumadin), another often-used anticoagulant in people with atrial fibrillation: This may be the source of confusion. However, warfarin needs to be dosed precisely, with frequent blood-level checks. Turmeric is an antioxidant that does have some mild anticoagulant properties. However, it is not remotely powerful enough to do the job of protecting your wife adequately from stroke. Omega-3 fish oils were once thought to reduce risk of atrial fibrillation; unfortunately, a 2013 study showed no benefit. Hawthorn has two potential benefits: To a slight extent, it acts as a beta blocker (like metoprolol) as well as an anticoagulant. However, no trials have proven its effectiveness. It may interfere with both her medicines. The metoprolol and Eliquis have much more safety data. ***

Mix a small amount with coconut oil and rub onto the chest. There also is some evidence that adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil to cleansing products can help kill dust mites around the house.

FORTIS SCHOOL OF NURSING AT ALL-STATE CAREER SCHOOL LAUNCHES PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM Program Meets Underserved Nursing Need in Philadelphia Area (NAPSI)—By 2030, the baby boomer generation, totaling more than 2.1 million in Pennsylvania, will be over 65. Many will require medical care at nonhospital settings such as long-term care facilities and community health centers. Yet, our country’s ability to care for this population will be impacted by the dwindling number of nurses. In response, All-State Career School, a leading postsecondary institution in Essington, has launched a new Practical Nursing (PN) program to provide a pipeline of support to hospitals and other health care facilities in the South Philadelphia metropolitan area. “One of our goals for this new PN program is to increase the number of well-prepared, professional, caring nurses who can be employed in this community,” said Dr. Sheila Burke, Vice President of Nursing for Education Affiliates. The new Fortis School of Nursing at All-State Career School in Essington is the most recent offering in a network of schools managed by Education Affiliates, Inc., one of the largest nursing education providers in the U.S. The system currently educates over 4,000 nursing students nationwide and operates 29 nursing programs in 10 states. “Southeast Pennsylvania is in dire need of nursing professionals and we’re excited to offer this new program to serve the community,” said Edward Rito, Area Campus President of All-State Career School in Essington. “We look forward to replicating the great success Fortis Institute’s practical nursing programs have experienced at its Scranton campus.”

Ways to Become More Active Every Day In addition to working toward at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week, it’s important to avoid being sedentary, when possible. You can do that by making choices that build activity in your day. Some examples include: • Taking the stairs • Printing to the printer farthest away from your desk at work • Getting off the bus or subway one stop early • Parking in the farthest space from the door • Walking around while you are on the phone or having walking meetings

RESILIENCE: A TIMELY THANKSGIVING TRADITION BY AMANDA DUDEK
T
he days have grown shorter. Browning leaves of red, orange, and an gold rustle as they are blown by breezes that bite, bl and an the palest of frosts appear overnight only to ap melt away at sunrise. me Throughout the country, families are preparing to fa gather over tables full of turkey, squash and stuffing, carrots and cranberry jelly, mashed potatoes and marshmallowed yams, plump biscuits, and pumpkin pies. Thanksgiving Day has arrived, wafting in on mouthwatering [turkey] wings. Amid an ongoing pandemic, it is time to find gratitude once again. This Thanksgiving, after “two weeks to flatten the curve” became nearly two years of riding the rollercoaster, there is a strain which can be felt. Almost two years of pandemic pressures, economic challenges, political conflicts, and semi-isolation have left their mark. Pandemic realities continue to shape our everyday lives; whether long-term or short-term remains to be seen. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, perhaps it is time to expand our focus from simple survival to include how we will survive. Thanksgiving Day itself is a holiday born and baptized in adversity. Its inception took place among those Pilgrims who survived their first year upon New England shores: only 51 of the Mayflower’s 102 passengers and about half the crew. It was proclaimed and celebrated on the heels of the American Revolution, when President George Washington declared Thursday, November 26th, 1789, to be “a Day of Publick Thanksgivin.” It rang out over the fierce battles of the American Civil War in 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln issued a declaration asking that all citizens observe “a day for National thanksgiving, praise, and prayer.” Finally, in 1941 as World War II raged on, Thanksgiving Day was established by the Congress of the United States as a national holiday to take place each year on the fourth Thursday of November.
During the Spanish Flu pandemic, New York City Health Commissioner Dr. Royal S. Copeland was faced with many difficult—and at times controversial—decisions while working in the interests of public health. In one of his letters, he wrote, “When the history of the influenza in America is written, you will not be ashamed of the care afforded to this metropolis.” Dr. Copeland’s ability to imagine a point after the pandemic in which the pandemic itself was in the past is both striking and key. Dr. Copeland understood that the Spanish Flu pandemic would become a chapter in American history…and it has. One day, whether one month, one year, or five years into the future, the Covid-19 pandemic will be a chapter in American history. Will we be able to look back and say that we are not ashamed of how we cared for each other, of how we treated others in restaurants and grocery stores, on “It is time to social media and within our families? The fact that this pandemic, which now expand our focus touches every aspect of our lives, will from simple ultimately be a part of our nation’s past survival to include can put so much into perspective.
how we will survive.”
Meanwhile, how can one “vaccinate” the spirit against current stresses? Gratitude. Giving thanks for the many blessings we still enjoy redirects our focus from the negative to the positive. A gratitude lifestyle has been found to reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure and blood cortisol levels, increase feelings of well-being, and strengthen one’s ability to cope with challenging situations. This Thanksgiving season, consider taking some extra time to reflect on those blessings which mean the most to you. As you gather with family and friends, whether in person or virtually, share these blessings with each other and experience resilience through gratitude. After all, it’s a Thanksgiving tradition.
A common thread even more meaningful in the light of our present pandemic is the human resilience at each of these points in time as well as the decision to give thanks. Merriam-Webster has defined “resilience” as “the ability to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens.” If that doesn’t sound like a post-pandemic prescription, I don’t know what does! Merriam-Webster also defines “resilience” as “the ability of something to return to its original shape after it has been pulled, stretched, pressed, bent, etc.” For many, the last two years have left us feeling all of the above! Yet, it is this elasticity we so desperately need right now. It is one’s ability to endure extraordinary difficulties and challenges and yet remain the same sort of person they were before. Surviving this pandemic has been our necessary focus for so long; however, what can we do to ensure the “us” that survives is who we want to be?

SENIOR NEWS By Matilda Charles
Foreign Radio Stations and Language Lessons Here we are, still stuck mostly at home for another winter. Looking for ways to get out, even if it’s only mentally, I’ve discovered internet radio. It’s easy to get started. I went to Radio.net (with 33,000 stations around the world) and on a whim I typed in Ireland for a search function. That got me 15 stations in Ireland. I tried Canada, and that netted me 44 stations. Searching for France, I found 798 stations. I went with a French talk show aimed at seniors and have been able to test the free French lessons I’ve been taking online with Duolingo. If you get hooked on listening to the radio on your computer, you might consider investing in a good pair of speakers. I prefer the wired speakers, as opposed to struggling with Bluetooth connections, and a decent set can be had for less than $25. I’m still using a pair of 3-inch cube speakers with a very handy volume button that I purchased seven years ago. As for the free French lessons on Duolingo (duolingo.com), I’ve decided to start again at the beginning. There are four goal levels: casual, regular, serious and intense, meaning 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes per day of instruction. Now that I’ve found that French talk show, not to mention all the other 797 French stations, I’m going to get more serious about learning French. On Radio.net there was an offer to get a free phone app at the App store or on Google Play, but you can just click the green arrow for connection. One thing to keep in mind about radio apps for phones or tablets -- they do use data. If you’re on a cellphone plan, make sure you are using Wi-Fi, or be aware of how much data you are using. You can always listen on the computer. (c) 2021 King Features Synd., Inc.

EASY ‘GREEN’ THANKSGIVING IDEAS Shop locally and organically. When shopping for Thanksgiving dinner, choose local produce, poultry and grains whenever possible. Resist the urge to buy more than you need as well. Skip some of the less-popular dishes that are used only to make the table seem full. Buy a small turkey or think about only serving turkey breasts, which tend to be the most popular cuts of the bird. Use reusable shopping bags to carry items home and reduce waste even further.

SIMPLE WAYS TO BE MORE CHARITABLE Being charitable is rewarding, not only to those on the receiving end of others’ good deeds but also for those doing the giving. Research conducted by the National Institutes of Health found participants who chose to donate a portion of money they were provided activated pleasure centers in the brain. Doing something positive can be uplifting, and being charitable helps others in need. Quite often people who engage in charitable works find inspiration through their efforts. That’s because working with a nonprofit group can create opportunities to meet new people, socialize and be surrounded with like-minded individuals. It also may help adults serve as role models to youngsters. Children who see their parents or other adults being charitable may be more likely to be philanthropic when they grow up. Every little bit counts when being charitable. Philanthropy doesn’t mean donating thousands of dollars or lots of hours volunteering. The following are some relatively easy ways to incorporate charity into one’s life. • Collect change: Place a coin jar near where you put your keys or wallet when entering the house. Empty loose change into the jar and watch it fill up. Use the collected funds to donate to a charitable group. • Round up: When the grocery store checkout clerk asks if you want to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar for charity, opt in. • Become a leader: Volunteer your time as a scout troop leader, coach a sports team or offer free tutoring for students. You’ll be making an immediate difference in the lives of young people. • Charitable consumption: Buy from companies that are involved with cause-related products. Many products are tied to charitable efforts, with a portion of money going directly to nonprofits. • Throw a party: Host a party with a philanthropic theme. Guests can arrive and make a donation or bring a gift that will go to a charitable cause. • Use your hobby: Participate in charity fundraisers that incorporate some of your favorite hobbies. For those who knit or craft, donate or sell your creations for the good of those in need. Being charitable is easier than one might think, and even the smallest efforts can produce big results. Simply cover the bottom of a clean ice chest with a few trivets or a couple kitchen towels, and set casseroles and oven-cooked meats inside. Most people use a cooler to keep things cold, but the insulation works just as well to keep hot things hot ... at least for a little while.” -- M.E. in West Virginia * “An oldie but a goodie, and certainly considerate of dear old Mom: In my family, you come to Thanksgiving dinner with your own plastic containers for leftovers. If you don’t bring your own, you don’t go home with tomorrow’s lunch. Mom instituted this rule after the first Thanksgiving when all the kids had moved out. We practically cleaned her out of Tupperware!” -- E.Y. in New Mexico * Recipe substitution: If you need 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, use 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves. S E V RA Farmers Farmers are dealing with muddy conditions this year. That may mean more grain wagons and trucks being loaded on the road. Farmers try hard to work quickly and keep traffic moving but please, be patient and safe around farm equipment! Thank a farmer today. Good news! In response to “Where are we headed” here is some good news. The unemployment rate dropped to 4.6% and 531,000 jobs were added in October! The infrastructure bill passed by both Democrats and Republicans last week will be adding millions of new jobs, and we will all benefit from repaired roads and bridges, lead free water lines, increased broadband and improved train travel. All those new jobs are certainly good news! I’m not sure where you shop, but I’ve found everything I need at all the main grocery stores in our area, both national chains and local grocers. If you’re finding bare shelves, perhaps you should try a different store or try purchasing online. There is little anyone can do about gas prices which fluctuate up and down based on the price of crude oil which is controlled by the global market. We all received help from our federal government during the COVID-19 shutdown, and we are still receiving it. I see much to celebrate! Also, it’s 61 degrees with sunshine in mid-November! Smile! Kindness I would like to thank the lady who left money for my groceries at the Batavia Aldi on November 8th. Bless you for your kindness.
Our government; our republic A recent 60 Minutes interview with an Andrew Sullivan spotlighted a terrible trend that is so prevalent in our politics today. Absolutely no dialogue, no discussion, no discourse, just “You’re wrong because you don’t think like me (or worse, my party).” Republican leader Mitch McConnell vowed that everything the Democrats do, his party would be against. Wow! That is not what our democracy or this country was built on. We had one of the greatest nations on earth because of our republic and the open exchange of ideas and ideologies, but we should all be extremely concerned as to where our United States of America is heading. Our politicians could use a vaccine that would cure their cruel and bitter criticism! Tipping your server To the table of six that went out to eat last Wednesday after a day of fishing at [local spot]: Nice of you to eat, drink and have excellent service and leave nothing for a tip. Servers do not make minimum wage and depend on their tips. Times are tough, and often establishments can’t find enough help, so the servers are working their tails off to give their customers a good dining experience. Please remember that when you are going out to eat. If you can’t afford to leave a tip, then eat at home! Holding the country hostage To “What An Idiot:” Actually, it’s not Joe Manchin holding our country hostage. It’s those who want to bankrupt the USA who are holding us hostage. If you’re so worried about the children, let’s not leave generations to pay for this legislation which is full of “pork.” As I recall, Joe Biden took naps during the all-important COP26 meeting. As for which Joe should be impeached, look no further than the top dog.
What a blessing! Thank to the gentleman who paid for my oil change at the Monroe Muffler in Geneseo. I don't know your name, but your act of generosity brightened a tough day. I will be sure to pay it forward when I can!

STRANGE BUT TRUE By Lucie Winborne * If you had to pick a “standard” pencil color, you’d probably think of a yellow-gold shade -- and that’s no accident. When pencils went into mass production in the 1890s, the finest available graphite fillings came from China. Manufacturers wanted everyone to know that they used only the best Chinese graphite, so they painted their pencils yellow, the traditional color of Chinese royalty.

CONSERVE FUEL DURING YOUR DAILY COMMUTE Drive a vehicle with stop/ start technology. Stop/start systems, in which engines shut off automatically when drivers brake and restart automatically when the driver lifts his or her foot off the brake pedal, can make more efficient use of fuel. Once exclusive to hybrid cars, stop/start technology is now more widely available and can cut back on fuel consumption and vehicle emissions. That’s especially attractive to ecoconscious commuters who live in big cities where stop-andstart traffic is unavoidable. What’s more, many modern air conditioning compressors operate off electricity and not via a car’s engine, meaning vehicles with stop/start technology will stay cool in the summer even when the engine shuts off. PAW’S CORNER By Sam Mazzotta
New Dog Has Appetite for Doggie Door Flap DEAR PAWS CORNER: Help! Our recently adopted dog “Mollie,” a medium-sized mixed breed, thinks the doggie door flap leading outside to the backyard is delicious. Rather than using it to go in and out, she grabs the edge, chews and tugs on it. She growls when she does this. And she insists that we open the back door for her to go out. How do we fix this? -- Mary T., San Antonio

DEAR MARY: You’ll need to address this in two steps. First, you need to figure out if Mollie is chewing due to boredom or attention-seeking, or if she has separation anxiety due to trauma in her past. If she’s only chewing on the door flap and nothing else in the house, maybe there’s an old memory surfacing. Second, you’ll need to repair or replace the damaged flap and train Mollie to go in and out of it confidently. Here are a few methods: 1. Divert and distract: As soon as Mollie starts trying to chew the door, call her name to stop her and then distract her away from the door with something else that interests her, like a favorite toy or a treat. 2. Behavior training at the same time each day: Note when Mollie is most likely to start chewing on the door. Then, conduct 10 minutes of behavior training in basic commands. 3. Train Mollie to use the flap correctly: Once she’s responding well to basic commands, add “going thru the flap” to her training. The AKC has a great tutorial here: www. akc.org/expert-advice/training/ dog-not-using-dog-door/ and this trainer’s video shows the clicker-treat method: www.youtube. com/watch?v=-R_k4_UHDeA If these methods don’t work, consider a professional trainer to help identify and work through Mollie’s fears or bad habits. Send your tips, comments or questions to ask@pawscorner.com. (c) 2021 King Features Synd., Inc.
