Celebrate the spirit of everyday heroes who show love triumphs over all. From grandparents and pet adopters to nurses, teachers, and first responders, these are the new faces of heroism. This summer, join us in savoring drinks that give back to so many remarkable individuals in Rochester.

Greg and Marlene Fagen, founders and owners of Heroes Brewing Company on Atlantic Ave want to show the Rochester community that not all heroes wear capes and fly through the sky to fight crime. A hero can be a grandparent raising grandchildren, people adopting pets, every nurse, doctor, teacher, coach, police, fire, EMTs, soldiers, veterans, and so many more.

Founded in 2020, Heroes is dedicated to honoring the heroes of our community with the “good beer” they deserve. Founding a brewery comes with a myriad of unexpected challenges, but Greg says, “what hasn't wavered is our desire to honor the people who put a lump in our throats and a tear in our eye.”

Each beer is dedicated to a local charity, non-profit, or individual hero, with a portion of each sale donated to the cause it represents. Since opening, they’ve sold over 34,000 cans of beer, donating to over 75 charities and non-profit organizations in the process.

Raise a glass to local heroes with every sip!

Walter’s Warriors IPA

An American IPA with inviting aromas of pineapple, melon, and citrus fruits carry you into a medium-bodied ale with just enough bite. Walter's Warriors is the result of our collaboration with Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester. Walter suffered from multiple ailments when he arrived at Lollypop Farm, but with the help of the dedicated clinical team, Walter became an ambassador for the shelter. We celebrate the team at Lollypop for their unwavering commitment to bettering the lives of animals—and to all of you who adopt, care, and support this local organization.

Let's Go Fishin' Kolsch

For Greg, one that’s particularly close to his heart is from the Heroes' early days: a Kolsch named Let's Go Fishin' dedicated to Greg’s childhood hero and the father of one of his oldest friends. “I was a pretty high energy kid, and Bob showed such patience and grace towards me and was always inviting me to different family fishing trips they took. Some of my greatest memories from childhood are with that family.”

Gigi’s Coconut Porter

A fruit beer that marries toasted coconut and vanilla with notes of chocolate malt. GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester empowers those with Down syndrome and their families to reach their highest potential. Their custom, research-based curriculum works towards advancing literacy, math skills, gross and fine motor skills, improving low muscle tone, building self-esteem, preparing for the workforce and more while fostering acceptance, awareness and networking resources for parents, siblings and the community. All programs are FREE of charge.
