UNDERSTANDING LIFE INSURANCE Deciding if you need coverage. While life insurance seems like the kind of thing every person should have, that’s not necessarily the case. For example, single men and women with no dependents and no tax or debt concerns generally do not need life insurance. If you are single but have tax issues or a considerable amount of debt, then a life insurance policy can be used to pay those debts upon your death. Adults with dependents, such as a spouse and/or children, should consider purchasing life insurance, which can help your surviving dependents maintain their quality of life and pay their bills in the wake of your death.

Bill was born and raised on the family farm in Canadice. He attended Hemlock School where he was an avid athlete. After school, he was drafted into the Army, serving in Germany during World War II. When he returned home, he worked numerous jobs in the Hemlock area. Then in February of 1954, he married the love of his life, Audrey. They settled on Allen’s Hill where they raised their family. Bill worked at Klemann’s in Honeoye until they closed. Then Bill began working at Genesee Brewery until he retired in 1993. He enjoyed his retirement, mostly spending time with his family, ready and willing for the next adventure. Bill’s passion was working in his workshop, creating new things. He also loved spending time in his flowerbeds, mowing the lawn, playing bingo, and cards. Friends and family are invited to call from 4-7PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 8624 Main Street in Honeoye, where Bill’s funeral service and military honors will take place at 11AM on Friday, February 4, 2022.
