Refresh Your Home for Spring Eliminate the extras While you’re freshening up the house, it’s the perfect time to purge unwanted and unused items, but remember that items in good condition can actually do good for those in need. By donating clothing, electronics, furniture, household goods and vehicles to be sold in The Salvation Army Family and Thrift Stores, you can help transform lives in your local community. A good rule of thumb: if you haven’t used it in the last year and it doesn’t have special sentimental value, it’s probably time to let it go.

VISION GREATLY AFFECTS DRIVING ABILITY Driving is a multisensory experience that requires careful coordination and mastery of a wide array of skills. Understanding the rules of the road and having sufficient practice are only part of the equation. Being able to see the road and react to obstacles, signage and more is crucial. Drivers should not downplay the importance of visual acuity when they turn their ignition keys. Acceptable vision is involved in all components of driving. Motor vehicle operators need to have clear vision to read gauges and operate the controls of the car. Distance vision also is essential to identifying road hazards and seeing other cars on the road. The health resource All About Vision says aging and visual changes at any age can affect a person’s ability to see moving objects while one is in motion - as is the case while driving a car or truck. In addition, changes in peripheral vision can increase blind spots while driving and affect reaction time. Many motor vehicle agency vision tests do not take into consideration all of the factors that can impact vision while driving. Seeking care for visual problems and changing driving habits when necessary can help people stay safe on the road.

LONG-DISTANCE CAREGIVING (NAPSI)—Chances are, at some point you will be a caregiver to a friend or family member. Providing care and support can be challenging in any circumstance, but caring for a loved one who lives far away presents a unique set of challenges. When providing care for loved ones who do not live nearby, keep the following three tips in mind. Plan ahead. Learn your loved one’s medical wishes, contact information for doctors as well as important financial and insurance information. Research community options. Many older adults need a little help to stay healthy and independent. Area Agencies on Aging and other communitybased organizations can connect caregivers to programs that help with transportation, personal care services, nutrition, home modification and repairs, legal services, falls prevention programs and more. Care for yourself. The Eldercare Locator can connect caregivers to local resources that can help, including caregiver support programs that can provide training, and support groups and other resources that help caregivers better support their loved ones—and themselves. The Eldercare Locator can help both care recipients and their longdistance caregivers. Through its website, www.eldercare.acl.gov, and national Call Center at (800) 677-1116, the Eldercare Locator connects long-distance caregivers to resources that can provide assistance where it is needed most—in the care recipient’s own community. The Eldercare Locator is funded by the U.S. Administration for Community Living and is administered by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging. AUTOMOTIVE

HOW PARENTS CAN SIMPLIFY STUDENTS’ TRANSITION TO COLLEGE LIFE Emphasize time management. Today’s high schoolers are busier than ever before, so many may already be prepared for the juggling act that is college life. But college students have more free time than their high school counterparts, so parents can emphasize the importance of managing that free time wisely as opposed to spending it lounging on the couch or napping.

Amazing Staff at Batavia’s Perry Pet I am overdue in thanking the amazing staff at Perry Pet in Batavia. We went through an incredibly difficult time this past April when we had to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Our dog was almost 17 years old and a huge part of our family. The staff at Perry Pet were kind, helpful, considerate, and so supportive during this time. Because of their kindness, we were able to have our whole family together one last time. I can’t tell you how much this meant to us. We cannot thank you enough for helping us through one of the most difficult times our family has gone through and for treating our girl with grace and dignity. The beautiful card and the touching memento that were sent to us afterwards were such an amazing surprise. Now we have her paw prints framed and a touching reminder of our sweet girl. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Credit where it’s due I’d like to thank Alexander Central School, its administrators, teachers, and the school board at the time for getting me involved at a young and impressionable age. I learned a lot.

Mind your own business To the person who put a face mask on, entered the fitness room, and tried to belittle me and make fun of the fact that I wear a mask.(You never wear a mask.) I am vaccinated, but I still wear one to protect myself and others, unike you. Then, you ask me what I’m doing on the treadmill and tell me that I should be outside walking. You then replied that you walk 4 miles a day outside. So what? Who are you to judge me? Who are you to know why I have to use a treadmill? I guess you don’t know I have titanium in three different parts of my body (rods, plates and cadaver bone). I’ve had two surgeries on my spine and a botched foot surgery. Stay in your lane, buddy, and mind your own business! A sad week for our country! After 20 years our time in Afghanistan has ended. After great cost in terms of human life and money spent the people that supported us there have been left in many cases high and dry. It might have always ended like this but it’s still a shame that things came to a close the way they did. Nonetheless thanks to all the vets that served there overseas. To those who are unvaccinated. In case you haven’t heard, hospitals are overrun with Covid patients, children are struggling to breathe (they don’t have the choice to get vaccinated) and thousands of people are dying. All because you “know your rights” and want the government to butt out. How many of you refused your stimulus check? Your unemployment? Your Social Security? It’s time to start thinking about someone other than yourself. It’s not too late to do the responsible thing and get vaccinated.

PAW’S CORNER By Sam Mazzotta

Dog’s Begging Spirals Out of Control DEAR PAW’S CORNER: Our dog “Boadicea” is a sweetheart, but when she wants a treat she turns into a little monster. She drools on my arm, chews on my roommate’s shoe (with his foot in it), barks loudly, yips ... whatever it takes. We eventually break down and give her a treat. This happens several times a day. How can we stop this behavior? -- Darren in Manchester, New Hampshire DEAR DARREN: There are two steps I’d recommend to curb this behavior, because you know the downside of Boadicea’s begging: spiraling behavioral problems, future digestive issues and potential obesity. First, reinforce her basic obedience training. Work with her at least once a day on the “sit,” “stay,” “lie down,” “leave it” and “come here” commands. I recommend not working with her during the time that you’re normally relaxing in the living room with your roommate, because you want to try to reinforce that certain places and times are for training, play or treats. Obedience training alone won’t resolve the problem, though, because she’s developed a habit of begging whenever you’re trying to relax or socialize. So, you’ll need to employ the “ignore and divert” strategy as well. Ignore her attention-seeking behavior for a specific amount of time ... say, five minutes. Next, command her to either sit or lie down, and give her a chew toy. When she inevitably gets up to beg again, repeat the process. Don’t give her a treat at all. This will take time, but eventually she will get it. Many dog owners add a structured treat time to the day. For example, after your dinner and dishes are done, she can have her treat. This will help reinforce when and where she gets treats, and how she is supposed to behave. Send your tips, questions and comments to ask@pawscorner.com. (c) 2021 King Features Synd., Inc.

Caledonia Community Embraces New Little Pantry BY AMANDA DUDEK

A

new resource has come to Caledonia next to the Angry Rooster Deli on State Street. This resource, a Community Pantry filled with food and toiletries, was set up a little over a month ago by Helen Serafine, owner of the Angry Rooster. She says, however, that it‚ is really the Caledonia community that inspired it and makes it work. “Customers who had seen these little pantries in other towns and Rochester neighborhoods would come in, and they told me about them,” said Helen. “I knew there was a need, and these customers put a bug in my ear!” Helen decided to take action. She ordered a large outdoor cupboard for the Community Pantry and shared her plans with the community. Even so, she was unprepared for the enthusiasm with which her Caledonia neighbors Kathryn Mailloux (l) and Helen Serafine (r) embraced the idea. stand next to Caledonia’s new 24/7 “I posted that the Community Pantry! pantry had arrived, and it had only been up about an hour when Bill Weiss came over, installed its shelf, and secured it to the building,” Helen shared. “It was full then, and it has been full ever since it opened.” The Community Pantry’s constantly full state is another evidence of community generosity, according to Helen. “They have rallied around it 100%,” she says. “It refills every day. There are people in this town who are incredible and would do anything for others. Almost daily, I see people park out front and go to the pantry with bags of donations.” One supporter Sometimes you forget found her own unique the needs because they way to support the cause. “One friend loves aren’t so visible. indoor plants,” recalls - Helen Serafine Helen. “So, she takes tiny succulents and replants them in small pots. She brings up to 50 of them in at a time and asks people to take one and donate to the pantry!” While Helen is thrilled by the Community Pantry, she is surprised at how busy it has been. “I cannot believe the degree of need,” she says. “We are seeing items go like toiletries and even baby food, which breaks my heart. Sometimes you forget the needs because they aren’t so visible.” The Community Pantry is open 24/7, something Helen said she learned from the coat tree giveaway she did last year. “We covered a tree out front in coats so that anyone who needed one could just take one,” she explains. “When we came back each morning, several would be gone, so we realized people were coming when we weren’t here. We want people to be able to do that with the Community Pantry, too.” And it’s working. The Community Pantry is the talk of the town, a

wellspring of generosity and gratitude. “One woman shared with me that she was able to have Progresso soup from the Community Pantry and that she was never able to afford that soup,” shares Helen. “Our community is unbelievably generous.” Those wishing to donate to the Community Pantry can donate non-perishable items any time. Fresh vegetables and eggs may be donated on Saturdays. “If the pantry is full, people can leave items here at the deli or next to the pantry, and we will restock it,” says Helen. “We check it every morning.” As for why she hosts the Community Pantry, Helen thinks of her family. “I’m reminded of when I was raising my two boys, and there were times we would struggle,” she says. “If one of my boys were in need today, I hope someone would help them, too.” Helen invites anyone in need to visit the Community Pantry at its discreet, off street location. “Stop by! There are bags in the bottom, or you can bring your own, and take whatever is needed. We just ask that you keep in mind that there is always someone in need behind you. That is all; just think of the person behind you.” Helen plans to continue the Thanks to community generosity, Community Pantry Community Pantry shelves stay full! into the foreseeable future. This winter, she also hopes to bring back the giving tree of winter coats and the giving bench with winter hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves. “Last year, the crabapple tree was hung with coats of every kind for every age. It was very colorful and looked really neat. We gave away over 150 coats!” she exclaims. “We also had a woman in town make and donate all of the mittens, scarves, and hats. We hope to give those items again also.”

TAKE A COURSE IN DORM SAFETY

College students have a few different living options at their disposal, but many opt for dormitory living, as it is one of the more convenient and popular boarding options, particularly for out-of-town students. Thousands of post-secondary students pack up their belongings and move away from home in the pursuit of an education, and parents want to do what they can to ensure their college-aged kids are safe.

For many students, college represents the first time they will live anywhere other than the homes they grew up in. Dorm life can be an exciting adventure, but it can also be one that may open new college students up to inherently risky situations.

---

DEAR DR. ROACH: I am a 78-year-old female who has suffered from acid reflux for many years and has been taking Prilosec (omeprazole) for at least 15 years. I have heard that it is not meant for longtime use. If I don’t take it, I have such heartburn I can’t sleep and am in misery all day and night. I recently attended a seminar on the new LINX surgery and hope to have it done. Do you have any information on the success of or problems after this surgery? -- J.B. ANSWER: The LINX device is a magnetic ring, placed by laparoscopic surgery, that helps increase the strength of the lower esophageal sphincter, the valvelike muscular structure at the junction of the esophagus and the stomach. This reduces reflux (backward movement) of stomach acid up into the esophagus. The procedure was very effective at reducing both heartburn symptoms (89% before procedure to 12% after) and the need for daily medicines like omeprazole (100% before to 15% after). The device has not been in use for a very long time, so long-term safety data is unavailable. Some people had to have the devices removed because they eroded into the esophagus, but only 0.3% of devices were removed at four years. There are other types of surgeries used to treat reflux, most of which are effective at reducing both symptoms and the need for medication. There are now options for treatment being done endoscopically (with an instrument placed through the mouth), without the need even for laparoscopic surgery (with the instrument being placed by small incisions through the skin). My personal practice is to discuss medication treatments as well as surgical treatments for people with moderate to severe acid reflux. Surgery in younger people may have more benefit by preventing a lifetime of daily medication. People who do not get relief with medication are those who most clearly benefit from these kinds of procedures. ***

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY IMPROVES PATIENT EXPERIENCE FOR WOMEN UNDERGOING BREAST CANCER TREATMENT (NAPSI)—A mother, a sister, a friend…many of us know someone who has been touched by breast cancer, the most common cancer among women, affecting an astonishing one in eight women in the United States. Thanks to technological advances in detection and new treatment approaches, women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer can opt to keep their breast with less invasive surgery and with breastconserving treatments. In fact, the American Cancer Society estimates that 59 percent of women with an early breast cancer diagnosis (Stage 1 or 2) undergo breast-conserving surgery (lumpectomy) versus 36 percent of women who decide to have a total mastectomy. Research has shown that breast-conserving surgery followed by radiation therapy is as effective as a mastectomy in decreasing the risk of local cancer recurrence for most women*. “One way that breast-conserving surgery is now easier is due to a new innovation in breast cancer treatment—SAVI SCOUT® Radar Localization. This resolves one of the most difficult aspects of breast conservation surgery by eliminating the need to place a wire inside of the breast tissue to locate a tumor,” said Dr. Barry Rosen, Chairman of Department of Surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago; and Assistant Professor, University of Illinois College of Medicine. “Many of my patients who have undergone a procedure with SCOUT® are impressed with the benefits, including shorter procedure times and decreased anxiety.” Prior to 2015, surgeons generally relied on wire localization to locate a tumor during a lumpectomy procedure. With wire localization, a radiologist guides a thin, hooked wire through the skin and into the tumor on the day of surgery. The surgeon then uses the wire to identify the area of tissue targeted for removal. This resulted in long days of surgery for women, with two procedures performed on the same day. With SCOUT, a tiny reflector, the size of a grain of rice, is placed at the tumor site at any time during the patient’s treatment and well in advance of surgery. The SCOUT Wire-Free Radar Breast Localization System uses safe, nonradioactive, radar technology to provide real-time and precise surgical guidance during the surgery. The ability to precisely locate tumors increases the probability of complete cancer removal and reduces the likelihood of needing follow-up surgery, allowing any additional treatments to occur sooner. In addition, the ability to strategically plan the incision may result in better cosmetic outcomes. SCOUT is also used to effectively localize lymph nodes and tumors prior to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (chemotherapy administered prior to surgery) and can be used with any type of imaging over the course of a patient’s care. More than 350 hospitals have implemented the SCOUT System, and to date, over 45,000 women have had a wire-free localization experience. Small businesses have such a big impact on their communities, and the world at large, that it might be time to reconsider refering to them as “small.” According to the World Bank, small businesses have a major impact on the world economy, especially in emerging countries. In such nations, small and medium enterprises contribute up to 60 percent of total employment and up to 40 percent of national income. Small businesses figure to frame their economies in emerging countries in the coming decades, and they’re already doing so in developed nations, such as the United States and Canada.

By JoAnn Derson * Rubbing alcohol can be used to remove ballpoint-pen ink from most upholstery. * “Polish wall tiles in the bathroom using car wax. They will repel water really well. Just be sure that you cover the floor before you apply any wax. You do not want to polish your tub, as that is a safety hazard for sure!” -- M.W. in Missouri * If you have wood floors, you might already know about felt furniture pads -- the little self-stick felt circles you put on furniture legs to reduce scratches on your floors. You might not know that these same pads can reduce scuff marks that appliances make on countertops. It also makes it easier to scoot around a heavy mixer or other appliances. * “Check your mower to see if you’re cutting your lawn to the optimum height. Generally, cutting grass to 2 1/2 inches will allow it to retain more moisture, requiring less watering, and help shade out weeds, too.” -- O.F. in Alabama * Here’s a workout tip: Rotate among a few pairs of running shoes to get the best life out of them. Rotating gives them a chance to dry out between wearings, and runners who practice this routine have a 39% lower chance of injury, according to a Luxembourg research firm. * “If you’re looking to save money, don’t ignore the dollar store. You can find a lot of personal-care and home-care items there for, well, a dollar. I save quite a bit of money this way.” -- R.L. in Texas

Host your own welcome party Rather than waiting around for others to welcome you to the neighborhood, take the bull by the horns and introduce yourself to your neighbors in a fun way. Host an open house party and invite your new neighbors. What better way to converse with others than with food, beverages and a festive atmosphere? Plus, your party may lead to reciprocation from others.

SOUND CONTROL KEY TO A CALM, RELAXING HOME Inside and out, life can be loud. Retreat from the hustle and bustle of the world by making your home, or specific rooms within it, a calm, relaxing sanctuary. There’s a room in every house that could benefit from greater sound control, whether it’s a home theater, music room, studio, home office, children’s play room, bathroom, mechanical, or laundry room. Insulating properly will allow you to really enjoy your home that much more and achieve a higher level of comfort. Experts suggest selecting a dense insulation with a non-directional fiber structure to combat airborne noise such as music, speech and foot traffic. This insulation material creates an excellent sound barrier that effectively absorbs noise and reduces the transfer of sound waves from one room to another. Its resistance to fire is an added benefit that also adds passive fire protection to your home, a type of fire precaution that is part of the core of the building and will help control fire by limiting its spread. Certain sound dampening measures, such as carpeting, might also help alleviate echo and reverberation, as will acoustic panels that prevent sound reflections throughout a room. With basic DIY skills, you can simply and affordably construct your own acoustic panels using a stone wool rigid board which is effective at reducing the intensity and propagation of noise. EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY

(NAPSI)—One of the most cost-effective ways to make your home more comfortable year-round is to add insulation to your attic, including the attic trap or access door. By sealing uncontrolled air leaks, points out the U.S. Department of Energy, you can save 10 percent to 20 percent on your heating and cooling bills. Fortunately, this can be a relatively easy task. Why Improve Your Insulation An improperly insulated attic can be a preventable source of energy loss and unnecessary expense. Over time, insulation can settle or compact, which reduces its R-value. An insulating material’s resistance to conductive heat flow is measured or rated in terms of its thermal resistance or R-value— the higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness. A breezy attic may also result in drifts or shifts in your original insulation, leaving gaps where heat can escape. By topping up your attic insulation, you’ll increase the thermal level, reducing your overall energy usage and saving you money. How To Do It A simple way to do this is to topup the existing insulation in your attic. This is one project that homeowners can often tackle for themselves. Look for timesaving, easy-to-install products, such as stone wool batts, that are easy to work with and don’t require costly blower rentals, protective clothing or an investment in expensive equipment. You can easily add Rockwool ComfortBatt insulation on top of most existing insulation to increase R-value in an attic without having to do any remediation or removal first. The batts will remain stable and won’t shift after they are put in place, ensuring upgraded thermal protection. They’re also: • Easily cut • Noncombustible • Excellent for sound absorbency • Not likely to rot or promote growth of fungi or mildew • Water and moisture resistant. To apply the insulation, simply begin in one corner of the attic, open the bag and place the stone wool batts as needed to get a consistent layer throughout the attic. Make sure to cover spaces around ducts, wiring and piping, converting these awkward spaces into energy-saving areas. One of the advantages of stone wool batts is their compatibility with other insulation types, eliminating any need to remove existing product. HOME HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

LAWN & LANDSCAPING REMEDY LANDSCAPE DRAINAGE PROBLEMS When confronted with drainage issues that cannot be remedied by other methods, homeowners may need to install drainage systems. Such systems often employ French drains that are built through or around the perimeter of a property. French drains are typically a trench that contains perforated plastic pipe and is backfilled with gravel. Water runs into these channels and gets swept away by the piping. Do-it-yourselfers may want to try installing drainage systems themselves. However, because excavation is necessary, it’s often best to have the property inspected and marked for utilities, then have the drainage system installed by professionals.

CONSERVE WATER WHEN TEMPERATURES RISE Spring and summer are synonymous with increased hours of sunlight, warm temperatures and, oftentimes, an increased reliance on water to feed recreational pursuits and lawn and garden needs. The Water Information Program states that 3.9 trillion gallons of water are consumed in the United States each month and the average person uses 176 gallons of water per day. Water conservation may be essential when the risk for weather-related drought looms. Practicing year-round conservation efforts can help ensure smart usage of local watersheds, lakes and reservoirs and help maintain these water sources for years to come. It also helps the average person reduce his or her carbon footprint while saving people a little money along the way.

SENIOR NEWS By Matilda Charles

We’ve Gotten Careless If you read the news, you know there are serious questions about how well the vaccines we’re been taking actually protect against COVID. Especially worrisome is the protection they offer against the Delta variant that’s sweeping the world. Those in authority seem to be flipping a coin each day, depending on who you listen to. Some days we can throw caution to the wind and go about our business, and other days we need to continue to beware. There’s talk of going back to the indoor mask mandates, and that’s likely one step away from again limiting the number of people allowed in stores at one time, or so I imagine. If those things happen, it won’t be like it was in March 2020. Back then we were all scared to death. We’d spread out in the grocery aisles, staying far away from other people. We wore that mask at all times when out and about, and we respected all those 6-foot markers on the floor. We certainly didn’t sit down at a restaurant table for four and take off our masks, or head to the gym. Now, having lived through that whole horrible year, people are tired of it all, and we’re eager for a normal life. We think that because so many people have had the vaccination, that surely we’ll be safe. I fear that this time, however, if the mask mandates come again, it will be even more dangerous than it was last year, because we’ve gotten too casual, careless and passive about our safety. My short to-do list involves buying new masks and more hand sanitizer, renewing my grocery curbside pickup account ... and saying no to an invitation to join a dance group. How about you? Are you ready for what’s likely coming? (c) 2021 King Features Synd., Inc.

EFFICIENCY AT WORK Information is now seemingly always at our fingertips thanks to mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. While these devices may theoretically allow workers to become more productive, research suggests otherwise. Professor, researcher and author Gloria Mark with the University of California, Irvine says that activity switching and being frequently interrupted, including self-interruptions like checking social media and email, can lead people to develop short attention spans. That inability to focus for extended periods of time can adversely affect efficiency.

The Allied survey found that 31 percent of respondents indicated the most challenging part of relocating for a job was finding a home, while 29 percent felt acclimating to their new community was the most challenging aspect of their relocation. Adults who rent their first homes upon relocating can remove some of the pressure to find the perfect home, knowing full well their first home in their new community will be temporary. If possible, rent in a location that makes it easy to immerse yourself in your new community, which should make the adjustment easier. Retirement can seem like it will never come for young professionals. But time can be a sieve, and retirement age can arrive in the blink of an eye. Young adults who have not planned accordingly for retirement can find themselves in financial straits at a point in their lives when they want to kick back and enjoy themselves. Financial experts advise that financially solvent people should begin saving aggressively for their retirements early on. Ideally people should start saving in their 20s when they first leave school and begin their careers. The sooner one saves, the more time money has to grow. Vanguard says that the person who saves $4,500 per year over a career spanning 45 years can reach a goal of having more than $1 million in savings by the time he or she retires. Compounding interest and investment matches from employers can further secure professionals’ financial futures. TRI-COUNTY EDITION

PARENTS SAY THEY’RE ‘YODA’ ABOUT FINANCES (NAPSI)—Parents identify with Yoda more than other Star Wars characters when it comes to family finances—according to a survey by New York Life. Yoda is patient, uses past experiences to guide future decisions and finds it important to teach the next generation. Yet, many parents aren’t following Yoda’s most famous saying “Do. Or do not. There is no try” when it comes to taking the most basic step to secure their family’s finances: buying life insurance. Research continues to show that parents recognize the value of life insurance in protecting their family but haven’t been able to “Do.” Here are four common reasons (and the reality): 1. It is hard to get started—Not anymore. Companies are doing a better job at providing simple information and financial tools on their websites. For example, on New York Life’s site, you can now create a plan around what’s most important to you and access educational material to help you get started. 2.

I have it at work and that is enough—Not really. Life insurance through work is very beneficial but typically covers one year of your salary. If you were to die, that benefit could run out quickly. Experts agree that most people need 10 or more years of their salary covered by life insurance.

I can’t afford it—You probably can. People are surprised when they find out how affordable life insurance can be. While having a child brings lots of new expenses, life insurance should be at the top of that list so that your child’s plans for the future can stay on track even if the worst were to happen.

4.

My life could change—Not to worry. Whether you change jobs, have more children, welcome your parents back under your roof or need to pay for college, your life insurance plan can change, too. A professional life insurance agent can help you build a strategy that provides the flexibility you need.

Choosing the right type of life insurance depends on your needs. For example, term life insurance is a good place to start if your needs are temporary or short term. It offers affordable coverage for a set period of time. If your needs are long term, a permanent policy (most commonly whole life) might be the best option. In addition to the insurance protection, you build up cash value within the policy that grows on a tax-deferred basis and, if structured properly, can be accessed tax-free. If needed, the cash value can be accessed via loans to help pay for a child’s education or any other important financial need (though loans accrue interest and reduce cash value and death benefit). You may find that a combination of permanent and term insurance is best for you. To start planning for your family’s future, visit the Agent Locator at www. newyorklife.com.
