SHOEMAKING COMPETITION
JUDGE: Mr Derek Gardner AWCF ENTRY FEE: Apprentice £12, Open £25 - If an apprentice farrier, please enter which year you are in and the name of A.T.F PRIZES: Apprentice Classes 1st £20; 2nd £18; 3rd £15; 4th £10 Open class 1st £50; 2nd £25, 3rd £15, 4th £10 68. 69. 70.
APPRENTICE 1ST/2ND YEAR SHOEMAKING – to make four unclipped concave shoes in 50 minutes APPRENTICE 3RD/4TH YEAR SHOEMAKING – to make two shoes in 50 minutes, one to a foot specimen OPEN SHOEING – competitors to trim, fit and nail a 3/4 fullered shoe to a foot and also to make one specimen shoe to the judge’s specification. Time allowed 60 minutes. (This class is only open to registered farriers, no apprentices)
PLEASE NOTE The Open Shoeing Class (70) will be restricted to 16 Competitors on a first come first served basis. THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF FARRIERS makes awards to promote, support and maintain the highest standard of excellence in Farriery. Registered Farriers who are awarded the Company’s medals have attained the very high standard demanded by the Company.
