Fishing tourism in Italy is a relatively recent discovery, although many Englishmen were already fishing in our alpine valleys at the end of the 19th century in search of grayling and large marble trout.
In recent years a policy of water protection has meant that in some areas, unfortunately a few, there is now a good quality of fishing both in fresh water and at sea. Trentino
Fly fishing in the italian Dolomites, home of the famous marble trout.
Trentino region is one of the best fishing areas of Italy, with hundreds of kilometers of flowing waters and still waters. The fish population includes marble trout, some large in size, native and introduced brown trout, grayling and, in high mountain lakes, chars.
The variety of environments and the creation of specific zones for each fishing technique can meet the needs of every angler. The Alto Sarca area for example offers ordinary zones, no kill zones and limited access reserves.
In Alto Sarca as well as in other areas of Trentino, there are various accommodation proposals, from camping to luxury hotels.

Fishing in the sea of Tuscany, in the region of Brunello di Montalcino wine.
Piemonte, is a beautiful region of Italy, with several good rivers where brown and rainbow trout lives. Two of the greatest are the Tanaro and the Mastallone rivers. Both offers ordinary zones, no kill zones and limited access reserves with booking required.
The fish population includes some large in size, native and introduced brown trouts, rainbow trout, graylings and marble trouts as well.

At Castiglione della Pescaia, Tuscany, you can cast to bluefish in top-water from the shore or, on the best days, reach, on a belly boat, a small estuary just a few miles from the harbour to look for big-sized bluefish. At early dawn dolphinfish entertain you with very powerful attacks and acrobatic jumps.
When the sea does not allow you to fish, you can drive to the beautiful Orbetello lagoon, where middle-sized seabass, weighing about 2 kg, only attack top-water baits: it is a wonderful landscape with extremely combative fish that you can fish from the shore as well as from the Kayak.
In Tuscany you will be able to visit florence, one of the most beautiful cities in the world and you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the famous tuscan hills covered by ancient vineyards.
