Coastal Sea trout fishing
“The coastal waters that surrounds our Lodge holds the best sea trout fishing spots of all Denmark and Europe.”
Fyn island is famous for its sea-run brown trout (known locally as “havørred”), which thrive in the waters of the North sea and the Baltic Sea.
Because of the extraordinary coastal environment surrounding the island, characterized by not less than 1000 km of shallow waters and sandy beaches -all prime sea trout habitats-, there is no other destination in the world similar to our: we are not fishing in the rivers but we are instead wading, exploring, and fishing the shallow flats around our island.
Since the hundreds of little rivers on the island -although ideal for reproduction- are however too small environments, trouts here have adapted to living most of the time into the sea remaining for the most along the coastline in shallow water, also given the low salinity of the sea water around the island.
Worth to be mentioned, a consistent regional project and the help of volunteers have been preserving the island spawning rivers where sea trout reproduce, for not less than 30 years, constantly guaranteeing a healty and balanced population of this species.

Fishing here is it’s about understanding the sea’s rhythms and reading its subtle signs. The dedication required, paired with the beauty of the surrounding nature, create a fulfilling and meditative experience that brings anglers back year after year.
This is not at all a “20 fish in a day destination”, but if you are looking for a fantastic fishing experience and the satisfaction of catching fish with “value added”, then you must try at least once in a lifetime this fly fishing experience. Addittionally, these fish are known for their strength, acrobatic fights and jumps, with most of the catches between 40 - 50 cm size, while rare but not impossible trophy fish can reach up to 70 cm and more.

Here at Denmark Fishing Lodge, we understand that many of you are passionate pike anglers. That’s why we’ve worked hard for many years to create a unique, exclusive pike fishing experience just for our guests.
We offer our guests the opportunity to fish for pike in private lakes, located in secluded hunting areas surrounded by nature. Our waters are relatively small, but they hold a healthy and well-balanced population of pike in all sizes. In all our lakes, the chances of catching a +1 meter pike are high.

Established in 2013 and fully rebuilt in 2021, Denmark Fishing Outdoor Lodge now offers modern comforts and a nordic wooden architecture with a 180° view of the sea.
We are located in the south-west part of Fyn island, near the town of Assens, one of the most beautiful parts of the region with some of the best sea trout spots in all of Denmark. This place takes the name of “Aa” and it is a beautiful beach front area where the main local spawning river also runs trough.

International Cuisine with an Italian Flair
At the Denmark Fishing Outdoor Lodge, guests are treated to outstanding cuisine.
During the prime season, the day normally starts with a small international breakfast buffet, ensuring there’s something to satisfy every taste.
Fan of “aperitivo”?
When back from fishing, before dinner, our guests are welcome to relax on the terracce or inside the lodge, enjoying a Gin tonic, a glass of wine or an Aperol spritz. We offer a selection of italian imported wines, danish wines, local beers, draft beer, and drinks for most of the taste.
It’s not a secret that italian food represent the excellence of the whole European cuisine and our lodge’s kitchen have a particular focus on Italian dishes (such as fresh pasta, gourmet pizza, prime quality cured meats, traditional cheeses, and other specialties), giving guests a unique culinary advantage.
The Italian-inspired dinner menu is crafted using genuine ingredients, ensuring every meal is delicious and authentic.
Combined with our friendly service and attention to detail, the dining experience at the lodge is sure to delight every palate after a long day on the water and is an added value to the whole holiday experience.

Intimate and comfortable rooms for a good and restful sleep
The lodge offers comfortable double rooms, which can be arranged as single rooms upon request. Each room is equipped with high-quality, Danish-made mattresses to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Large, double-glazed windows provide excellent insulation, offering peaceful views of the countryside and partial sea views, while also ensuring a quiet, undisturbed stay. Inside the rooms, you’ll find the essentials for a comfortable visit, including a small desk, Wi-Fi, and a wardrobe for your belongings. The private bathroom features a heated floor and a spacious, well-designed shower for your comfort.

Some of the finest golf courses are also less than an hour’s drive from our lodge. Beyond Fyn, visitors can explore iconic spots like the Nyhavn district in Copenhagen or visit Billund and Legoland, the birthplace of LEGO, for unforgettable experiences in Denmark’s broader cultural landscape.
