Jeff opened Habitat Systems in June of 1996 and as an avid parks user and outdoors person, he is committed to quality, safe, entertaining and accessible public spaces. Jeff has a wide range of both education and practical knowledge, including the completion of a construction management program and the Canadian Certified Playground Auditor’s program. Jeff has detailed knowledge of Habitat System’s equipment and installation procedures, with a strong support staff to ensure the success of every project undertaken. Lisa has been with Habitat Systems since 2001, and is driven by a passion for the park and play industry which stems from both her professional and personal life. Prior to joining Habitat, Lisa worked for organizations such as PMC-Sierra, CRA and FPI, and obtained post-secondary certificates at Simon Fraser University (SFU) specializing in Communications, achieving Dean’s List standing during that time. Lisa applies her skills by spreading the message that Habitat Systems’ mission is to enhance communities in Western Canada. She excels at project management and new systems implementation through organizational techniques. Dave Warner is the Business Development Manager for communities in BC’s Lower Mainland and has been with Habitat since 2001. With over 17 years of experience, he has gained detailed knowledge of playground equipment, installation and safety procedures, local and municipal specifications, innovative design strategies and inclusive playspaces. Dave provides project management and design consultations to schools, Parent Advisory Committees, community groups, First Nations, City Planners, and many others. Nadine has been a Business Development Manager for Southern Alberta with Habitat Systems for over 11 years. Positioned locally and operating out of Habitat’s Calgary office, Nadine has the ability to concentrate her efforts in the southern areas of Alberta. Originally from the Maritimes, Nadine attended St. Mary’s University where she received a degree in economics and played for the University’s soccer team. Nadine is committed to meeting and exceeding the needs of her clients. Business Development Managers Steve Doyle manages the Kelowna office for Habitat Systems and is the Business Development Manager for Central and Northern BC. He joined the Habitat team in 2014. Born and raised in Ireland, Steve moved to Canada in 2005 and has put down roots with his wife and three young children in Kelowna. With over 15 years of superior customer service and sales experience, Steve has the capacity to develop and maintain strong relationships with his clients over a large and diverse territory. Prior to entering the world of playgrounds, Brad graduated from BCIT with a diploma in Professional Sales and Marketing and now has extensive experience in Sales and Territory Management, having been 13 years with his last company. He is passionate about building long and rewarding relationships and understands the importance of exceeding expectations in regards to product quality, service and value. Adam is Business Development Manager with Habitat Systems and he manages Habitat’s Vancouver Island office. Adam serves communities on Vancouver Island, as well as the Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, and Sea to Sky region. He has over 14 years of experience in the playground industry and began working in the playground industry right after college where he received a Technologist Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. As a local resident with a young family, Adam is a passionate advocate for children’s play, inclusion and universal design. Derek Laforest Lower Mainland
Derek is a Business Development Manager in BC’s Lower Mainland, primarily focused on serving the needs of Landscape Architects. Originally from Ontario, Sonya holds a Psychology Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. Since moving to BC, she is happy to now be working and living in Burnaby where she has the opportunity to ride her bike to work all year round. Sylvia was born and raised in the U.S.A. and came to Vancouver in 2003 to study Linguistics at the University of British Columbia, and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts. After graduation, Sylvia worked at an ESL school in Downtown Vancouver, and subsequently worked for a data entry company in Vancouver before coming to Habitat. She loves the outdoors and has a general interest in health, fitness, nutrition and self-improvement. Claire comes from an experienced background of retail operations, customer service, international logistics, and environmental laboratories. Originally from Ontario, she moved to BC and became a snowboard instructor on Cypress Mountain, in addition to receiving a Diploma of Technology in Chemical Sciences. Claire is well-travelled, having visited many countries. Most recently, she participated in a volunteer trip to Guatemala. Arron is Habitat Systems’ in-house playground designer and works with all of the Business Development Managers to create contemporary playground designs inspired by clients’ requests that provide maximum play value for individual budgets. Arron also collaborates with the creator of Habitat’s Natural Play line for new ideas as well as by providing site and perimeter layouts in AutoCAD for accurate plotting of components. He is a graduate of Emily Carr University’s Industrial Design program with a specialty in public space design and is proficient in AutoCAD and 3ds MAX. Prior to his design role, Arron also worked as an Installer for Habitat’s in-house installation team. Phil has been with Habitat since 2015. He has been designing and installing natural play spaces for over 25 years with a background in landscape and woodwork design, installation, and fabrication.
